Thanks for the comment about capturing the essence and spirit, we're both big Fairp fans, and have over the last 12 months got to know Peggy really well. He's just produced our album - due out soon - so a real dream come true! Maybe one day we might get to New Zealand to play live, you never know. Many thanks, Carolyn and Mark.
Während ein Fairport und Sandiger Anhänger, die Ihre Bemerkung wirklich etwas uns bedeutet. Bitte prüfen Sie unsere MySpace Seite über. Dank, und ein Glückliches Neujahr!
Nice version. I wonder if you could even slow it down a bit and play a more minimal accompaniment in the final verse to build the tension a bit? It's a great song and you do it justice. Good job!
I enjoyed that! It takes alot of guts to tackle a Sandy sung tune, because her songs are so personal, but you did an excellent job. Was great to hear a modern live version of that classic FC song. Hope to hear more guys!
Thankyou most kindly for the nice words; I was privileged enough to see Sandy many times as a youngster, and the last time just before she passed away. She brought her daughter on-stage at Birmingham Town Hall, she was so proud. She has had a massive effect upon my singing career, so when someone like yourself is enthusiastic and positive it is a huge compliment - Many thanks, Carolyn
Beautiful version of a beautiful song. Minor quibble : I think you'll find it was written by Richard Thompson and Dave Swarbrick of Fairport - its not a traditional song.
I appreciate the correction (I always thought Thompson and Swarbrick had done the arrangement of a trad song). This was take number 6 after 4 glasses of wine!. I will change credits .
