  • I had the demo version of this game with Full Throttle, the demo however only had up to the level where you had to find that computer guy? This game sure does take me back, along with Descent II and Demolition Derby

  • This game brings back a lot of memories. I especially remember the sewer level, which was very scary and the one on Jabba's ship where you start off unarmed.

  • @maddriver7 just played for 2 and a half straight hours today. That sewer level is just as much a bitch as it was when I was eight. and jabba's ship-palace thing...oh god.lol

  • @TheCharlyHorse

The most difficult part was Jabba's, since I had to fight the monster with my fists. And then look for weapons.

The sewer level was great also, mostly because of the music and atmosphere.

  • @maddriver7 Really? Punching the dragon was awesome...you just have to hold shift and jump around a lot. and yes the music for the sewers was perfect...yesterday i was still stuck on the fuel station. can't flip the switch the right direction, and i have to work that rotatey-thingy in the center of that big room...gave up after like an hour of just that level hahaa

  • I finally found it! I've been searching like a madman to find this game. I have steam but I'd rather just buy the original and have it shipped to me. I used to play this all the time when I was a kid! Now that you mention it, it is DOOM with a blaster rifle xD

  • @CartridgeJunkie64 i have the original, but it barely works, so i just paid $5 to have it work :P but it just uses DOSBox...if you can figure it out yourself, just do that lol

  • Doom Wars

  • They should take this game, slightly mod it and sell it for $60, and do it once a year... why not... CoD does that!

  • This your first time playing a FPS game or something?

  • @Mundane05 if your going to make a vid, at least know what thefuck your doing

  • memories of such a kickass game!! is there an emulator for this somewhere???!

I had this on a demo somewhere with demos of Full Throttle(ANOTHER kickass game) and Sam N Max

  • Lol doom with blaster rifles

  • I remember playing this when I was in 5th grade. It's was ef'n hard. need to torrent this to get me all nostalgic.

  • @DrPepper1885Phd Instead you could buy it on steam for dirt cheap and play it there. It has DOS support as well. :)

  • WAY better than COD, MW2, and so on...

  • when i was young i couldn't pass from level 3

  • @Pipespike9327 Level 3 was too scary from me as a kid. :P

  • This is an awesome game. I even have a copy for my PSX.

P.S. The protagonist's name is Kyle Katarn, and my name is Kyle too! What a coinkidink!

  • this looks fun might have to download on steam!!

  • ugh back when star wars games were great ! bring this to xbox 360 and ps3 heck george at least the ps vita or nintendo ds !!!!!! :(

  • lol I was 7 when I last played this... I completed this level quite a lot faster haha. It's a 2 minute or less level.

  • its a demo

  • Looks like Rott engine..

  • Doom + Duke Nukem 3d = Dark Forces

  • this remind's me of duke nukem 3D.

  • JOHN STAMOS

  • i need to find this game, i bought it years ago then moved about 1,000 times and kinda forgot about it. really would be nice if this was put on xbla or gog.com(preferably gog.com cause these old games never port as well to consoles)

  • @modernmobster steam has it

  • @CorBlimey2 cant download steam for some reason

  • u are playin like an idiot -.- makes me sick fading left to right all the time!

  • Why is he using the stormtrooper blaster rifle instead of the bryer pistol? Why does wander around aimlessly so much and never enter the secret area?

  • For me this was like the original battlefront. This was one of my favorite games.

  • they need to put this game on xbox live arcade and ps3 network.

  • @TheDelta387 It's on my ps3 network. $5.99 cad under PSONE Classics =3

  • is that a free Download?

  • I have dark forces 2 for some reason, it's awesome.

But I'd much rather play this, it's like doom.

  • This game was awesome for its time.

  • anyone get into Vigilante 8 series

  • dude how do you interact i got it of steam

  • @TheBullygameloverV2

dude you bought this when you couldve downloaded it FROM THE DESCRIPTION for free? rich bastard.

  • @Timw008thebadone I never looked in the description, Besides I got it before i looked at this video.

  • @TheBullygameloverV2

ooooooooooooooh. but still u didnt really look for the free vesion did u?

  • @Timw008thebadone The "free version" is just a demo.

  • @Digitbig

i know but i got it from a other link. google it for free duude

  • jump dammit! lol

  • @BXLoTuSKKlaN And I would add, "Crouch, bless it!"

  • @EusebioKun DOSbox will do the trck :)

  • Wow, stormtroopers are better shots in video games.

  • @GAF1987 It's a lot easier for them without that pesky up/down third dimension in their way

  • This game and the (Mac only) game Prime Target are my favs, Prime Target is a little known game and there aren't even any videos of it on YouTube, but it's such a fucking kickass game

  • wow.....this brings back such great memories. This and Outlaws..... loved 'em!!

  • holy fuckin shti, this brings back so many memories..... such an awesome game, I had a blast

  • I'm dizzy :S ... the game really sucks... Zelda Ocarina of time was better =D

  • oh yeah. Good times? Still play this though.

  • Comment removed

  • I understand the graphics... but oh dear lord the sound effects and music! :O

  • Comment removed

  • @tylerjaydavis There were much better sound cards then this. The music sounds much better with a decent sound card. Such as Gravis Ultrasound or Awe32 or a Yamaha card.

  • How is Batman different from a Black guy? Batman can go to the Store without Robbin (Lol)

  • Screw the Apprentice... This was the real deal right here

Best Star Wars game to date..

  • Dude, the stormtrooper rifle was the best!!!

  • If ur ganna complain about the mouce just get the steam version for normal PC

    Much more effective

  • i downloaded it for ps3 how do u open the door in the beginning

  • Press X to jump!

Also with great pain I figured out quite a few places to download this game for free.

The only problem is that all the file downloads are RAR. (which is a compressed file) So anyone who wants to play the full download has to download another program to decompress the file. Not to mention an emulator. Which isn't so difficult. the program I downloaded to play the game was 7-Zip file manager. Wasn't too hard to figure out. I don' know what anyone's talking about. This game rocks

  • Press X to jump!!

  • Great game id like to find the full version ive lost it over the years. Dos games are the best!

  • @BENLINUZ kinda over priced, but they do have this game on steam. 5 bucks, i guess its not too bad...

  • this is awesome. starwars AND DOOM HAVE A BABY. fukyeh

  • Me gusta este juego :)

  • As cool as it is to watch this again, it's killing me that the player doesn't strafe, jump, or look up or down at all. I'm yelling at the screen like it's a bad movie! LOL! There's also a big secret area and a lot of ground totally missed.

"You're not authorized in this area!"

  • @Hexcalibur The player strafes. Hold down the Alt button.

  • haha i loved playing the demo for this game...its amazing how primitive and stereotypical this game is now

  • greatest. game. ever. made.

  • "your not authorized in this area"

  • This guy sucks at this game

  • im thinking about buying this for the psp and i love doom and doom2 but this looks like it could get repetitive. i mean doom had different weapons and monsters throughout the game does this do the same thing like can u get a lightsaber instead of a chainsaw?

  • can someone tell me where can i play the full version of this game instead of the demos that they give you? or atleast send me a copy...

  • you could say that this is doom with tar wars skins

  • Comment removed

  • looks cool

    might get it on psn

  • Man, I totally loved the whole "You need the red key" thing.

  • this game is impossible to beat on a computer.....im using an Emulator and all the enemes and pick ups are invisible xD i barely beat the first level xD

  • ey yo nigga i aint gon' wish you tha best o luck

cuz imma headbussa i aint giving no fuck

  • There's this underground server that has a heavily hacked multiplayer version of this game, I think it's based in Nevada and this guy called Johnny is the Admin of it

  • i played this game wit no sound

  • This game was the bomb back in the day! A classic!

  • This game was infamous in my household. We originally bought this game along with a bunch of others on collection of Lucas Arts games. I don't even remember how many attempts it took me before I completed the sewer level. Lo and behold, it was a demo disc that only had the first three levels. We got the complete game on another collection of games, where I promptly got stuck a few levels later. Good times.

  • HELLA good times.

except I only had the 3-level demo disc...but i dodnt know that for a long time since i was too young to read lol

  • Wow. Doom meets Star Wars.

  • good old times.... though i was only like 7 years old and couldn't even beat one level and had to play the same one over and over again...

  • lol 2:54 the stormtrooper never saw what hit him

  • wheb im was 7 year s old im really liked this game:)

  • It was insanely fun for it's time. Duke3d, Doom, Quake 1 and a bunch of other fps really did hold my attention. Some games can be revisited, like RPGS and point and clicks, some can't. Doesn't mean it was always crap though.

  • The music is so good, it gave me diarrhea.

  • Got that game on steam!!!! This game never gets old for me!

  • Ahhhh the memories.

  • Does anyone know where I can get this? I have the CD somewhere around here, but not sure. Plus, does it work on Windows XP? Would love to play this old classic again.

  • Ya whoever is playing is pretty terrible at this game.

  • it´s a fantastic game but i also find it hilarious when he barely managed to push the button =P

  • i never found out how to finish the last level

    is it even possible ?

  • If I remember correctly, this game already had support for a 3dfx card. I was stunned how good the game looked on my Diamond Monster 3d Voodoo 1. Especially in that level where I had to shoot the harpoon of the Snowspeeder and fly around the Walker's legs to make it fall as in the movie. Awesome stuff.

  • it was shadow of the empires not this... this is a first game from kyle katarn series

  • I miss this game , the second JK started all the boring lightsaber crap .

  • gusy where can i download this for free? ive been looking everywhere for it and i cant find it :(

  • @laithlaith91 google "Steam." You can buy it for $6!

  • woohoo moldy crow

  • star wars fucktards

  • That Death Star hologram would stop lasers, but only from the outside, so I used to rush into the room, stand in the hologram, and watch in amusement as the stormtroopers tried to shoot me.

  • Even though the stormtroopers aim even worse in this than in the movies, the game is actually very hard. The battle against Boba Fett will kill you the first times, as will every one of the tough battles against the Dark Troopers. Not to mention the last battle. This is a gem of a game, and when you think about how many years ago it was launched, the music and graphics are pretty superb. But the gameplay is the best part.

  • this guy plays like a noob. gonna reinstall os9 on my old g3 and have some retro fun. look for all the great add on levels some proper class ones

  • star wars doom forces... haha

  • star wars - DOOM forces

    maaaan i should try this

  • There is 10 awesome weapons in the game.

The game is hard to control, I played the game a little time ago... but in 1 minute I could teach the guy who play in this video to play ten time better.

  • man the midi music is so amazingly amusing

  • Sounded better with a good wavetable soundcard. FM synthesis was awful.

  • 7:40 - This is why the Empire failed... Their troops couldn't hit the broad side of a Star Destroyer!

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • This game was the shit on playstation 1. I never got it on PC,though.

  • how many weapons are there in this game?

  • I completed this game years ago

  • You ever have one of those experiences where you download an old game/cartoon/movie from childhood, only to now realize that it was always crap?

I played the shit out of this demo when I was a kid (at 7 years old, now i'm 20.) loved it back then. Thought it was the best game ever, the sewer level really scared the shit out of me.

I re-played the full game again yesterday... and just... wow. Age hasn't been kind to it at all.

What did gamers do before mouse aiming?

  • @riff1 This game was never crap and still isn't today. Good old fps stuff, with great music by Clint Bajakian, and all that certain Star Wars flair. The levels were fairly huge for the time, and to complete them you had to show some fair skills in flicking all the right switches or in jumping over crevices. Way more than Doom or Quake had to offer.

  • @nerf79 More than Quake? I don't think so, that game was really hard.

  • @riff1 Aw, c'mon, it's a good game, just a little old... Also, I know what level you are talking about... Oh god, I hated it too, it really scared me, cuz i was only 4 or 5

  • @riff1 yes I agree, that sewer level was frightening. I was about 14 when this came out. Played the super demo foreverrrrr (it came with a LucasArts package along with Rebel Assault 1 and 2, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing) Never played the full version until Jedi Knight 2 came out. That dianoga was nastyyyy lol

  • @riff1 Yeah the Squid Monsters scared the shit out of me when I was a kid!

  • @riff1 you can actually aim left and right in that game. and after all these year i still think it's awesome

  • @riff1 lol did u have the double disc with full throttle on it?

  • @riff1

Before mouse aiming there was aiming with keys. The very first Doom had no aiming at all. All you had to do was center the enemy on the screen and shoot. This was because you couldn´t look up or down anyway. Later, with the possibility to look up and down (with keys) you had something like aiming.

  • @riff1 i hated the sewer level too especially when the sewer monsters would just jump out of now where and youre like shit im out of battery power and i cant use my light or ir goggles

  • @riff1 You fool ! This is CLASSIC retro gaming, in the style of Duke Nukem 3D or Doom, age never gets unkind, only for fools it gets old !!

  • @riff1 "What did gamers do before mouse aiming?" Dispite this being a year old messege, I will gladly answer this.. They played outside. You know. Where grass grows. The Sun shines. Played games like actual, physical baseball. Street football. You know. Those ancient games, where your body was the controller, that no longer exist, due to the electronic age taking over.

  • @TwistedSpiral

    YEAH!? WELL!

How did they accurately aim a baseball without the mouse!? HUH!?

    Check and mate.

  • @riff1 Well played, sir.. Well played. *Smirks.*

  • @riff1 You know you can enable mouse look, right?

  • @riff1 The game hasn't aged well at all I'll admit. But seeing as how I play a LOT of Duke Nukem 3d and Doom, it probably won't bug me.

I played the demo over and over again when I was little as well. I'm trying to get my hands on the entire dark forces series (which is on Steam for 20 bucks, but I have to wait til I get my new computer. This one is absolute shit)

  • I miss this game -- used to play it all the time -- dont have it any more....

  • yeahm but back then games were not really big on graphics, they were more bout gameplay, and storylines... usually anyways.

  • wtf do u expect the game was made in DOS and it was made a long time ago, DOS isn't the best for graphics, if you think its gonna be super sweet graphics ur a narnar

  • @godsmak1 ..Dude.. I think you're missing the point. He's not bashing this game, just reflecting on how games have changed over the past 15 years, since Dark Forces was released. Of COURSE it's not going to be the best for graphics. That's not a bash, it's just a fact. And, games like this are so popular because most gamers base a video game on the amount of fun they had playing it, not the visuals. I don't believe he was looking for "super sweet graphics."

  • @godsmak1 anyone who uses narnar in a sentence deserves to be voted as high as possible

  • cool game but im 8 so i never played

  • I can't believe how easy this game was when I played it all those years ago

  • anybody notice how these are the same sound effects lucas arts STILL uses. Same blasters, doors, elevators, everything.

  • Why shouldn't they if they're still good? ;-)

  • I remember playing this at the ripe age of three or so. Man, I feel old.

  • this game always reminded me of oom

  • you mean doom? lol yeah it was modeled on doom with major improvements in graphics and gameplay. in my opinion, this was the only early FPS that could possibly beat doom.

  • yah sorry some times my d key does not work :P

  • this is the best Star Wars game of all time

  • No Tie Fighter is the best Star Wars game of all time, followed by Dark Forces and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter

then Rebel Assault and Rebel Assault 2

  • Dark Forces II is better than the first, in my opinion. The multiplayer community for that was amazing at the time. Quite surreal to look at Massassi now.

  • Uh... Failed? You have any proof behind that? I'm pretty sure the eight or so years of active multiplayer it had means that it DIDN'T fail.

  • DF2 sucked

     its common knowledge

  • As is proven by you, and countless other failures in society, "common" is anything but.

    For example, 'common sense'. Ha.

  • you lost me

  • I always liked the music of old games...these midis Great Too!!!

  • Wish I had the full version of this--all I have is the 3-level demo.

  • dude awsome. put up the rest of the levels. this was such a cool game

  • this IS my favorite game ever

I remember how much crap i went through trying to get it to work,When I got it to work it was the best game I had ever played and still is better than most new so called better FPS..the level design and the scope of the levels are phenominal...+ the level variation ...I beat the game but it took a year or so...Jedi knight is also fantastic...IMO though it fell off with jedi knight 2...

  • poor stormies. It takes 3 shots to kill them but 40 to kill you...

  • duke nuke' star wars DF1 doom...

all of them wolfinstine wana be's

  • am i the only one who sees the similarity to Duke Nukem 3D? xD

  • not duke nuken it looks like Marathon!

  • This game is to hard even on easy & the serects are so hard to get.

  • i playd this game to death but never found an end to the last leval

  • me as well.....i even used the debug cheat and still couldnt find anything,

  • will this game run on windows XP computers

  • Why does the music sound so bad?

  • @darkmatter903

That's as good as music tended to get for games back then. This is an old (and very good!) game.

    @DeathVicarious

Sorry, but wolfenstein was rubbish compared to this. Not so much gfx/sound but with the storyline.

  • its an old game meant for dos, they only had basic MIDI files back then.

  • is it just me or does he walk right trough a wall at 2:04?

    >

  • It's just you!

  • Lucas Arts should put this on Xbox Live Arcade.

  • who knows one day it might

  • One of my favorite games, and easily the scariest game. More than Doom 3, easily.
