@flyinghellfish2006 Hi there, yes there are #Boeing727 in service still all over the world but mostly now in private hands or courier companies. That's what makes it so special now to see them, they are rare enough and an impressive sight. This one had been upgraded with winglets and possibly with CATII engine noise surpressors.

of coure you do get the odd cargo 747 and a340

apparently they are going to be bringing the a380 there

@CONNO123A STN has been approved for use by both the A380 and 747-8 and I'd suspect it's going to be used more as a diversionary airport for the 380. E.g. if LHR or MAN have problems/ closed/ weather etc, STN will be the divert airport rather than an airline starting services from there. I hope this is wrong, but STN is a boring place now, unless you collect numbers which I don't. Ryanair and Easyjet get tiresome, although seeing Easy 757 is a bit of a treat!"

@bananamanuk the main reason why i cycle there is because i can. i'm very unlikely to cycle to Heathrow or and back. but at stansted it is quite nice to see the odd 747. one of my relatives use to work there loading and unloading planes. The antonov 225 paid a visit.

An Airforce one which was very good to see. The plans to build the second runway were demolished. so it is good for my village but not for plane spotters. I assume that would have brought more airlines here.

@CONNO123A I filmedthe Air Force One and that's in another of my videos on here. Personally I'm glad the second runway didn't go ahead. I think one of the main reasons airlines don't locate here is that they don't have the critical mass - the size- to compete with the likes of Ryanair.

@Cactus732 Hello Cactus732, yes Air Asia X do still fly the STN route - this is their only route into the UK. I understand they've also acquired slots at Paris Orly but unsure if or when that will start. I thought they only had the 2 A340s.

I just went on a day trip to Stansted today and I saw an Easyjet aircraft using the airbridge and surpirse surprise! It was a Boeing 757!

@ionutshowcase Thanks a lot. The paint scheme is because Air Asia X sponsor the Oakland Raiders football team in the USA. This plane came in again on Saturday 12th June, although it rotates with the red colour scheme too. I imagine the Etihad scheme was the Formula 1 ? that would have been good tosee.

where did you stand to get the views...i can only see planes landing and takin goff if either we are driving past the end of the runway or standing in car park...even standing in car park you cant see them touch down??

HI there you need to look up on google earth or google maps for directions to Burton End village. Basically head to the long term car park but just keep going on the small road for a few miles and you'll be alongside the runway. too far to walk though will need a car.

Hello Jett203 - right back at you, I really like your videos as well. Thanks for your comment, it's comments like that which make it all worthwhile. The Global Supply 744s are in daily, sometimes more than 1 aircraft in - they have 3 in total. Air Asia X, from memory was 5 x weekly although they are due to get another aircraft to increase that from 2010 - i think, sorry not much help there.

Hi Jett203, just had a look at Air Asia X website and it's showing daily flights arriving at STN 21:50 for departure 23:20 so they must have changed their flight schedules very recently as they were previously arriving at around 3:50pm for 1 6pm ish departure, certainly those sorts of times were when i filmed these just a couple of weeks ago.

as for now, AirAsia X fly from KUL to STN daily.. and only use two of our A340, so if today you see our red 'well known' livery at STN, tomorrow it will be Raiders.. CHEERS =)

Hello AaronP216, Jet2 have been opeating at STN for years, they used to operate the aircraft as Channel Express in a green livery, it was then operated in hybrid colours and only in the past year or so as Jet2 full scheme. I think they operate on behalf of Royal Mail not sure if this is a quick change aircraft that also does charters as well.
