  • how much did the model 51 cost?

  • @MrWoooooooot A brand new one I believe runs about 180, extras like getting a black blade and stuff will cost you about 200. If you buy it off of the forums it'll probably be around 150 new.

  • Model-51's cost a lot.

  • yay trainers

  • the flipping at the end seems really unnecessary. you can just flip it back into a normal ice pick grip with the blade out, starting from the safe side.

Oh and to go from ice pick to regular, I usually do a latch drop. From there you can drop your hand down and transition to a y2k

  • how do you go from the icepick grip to the regular

  • Any Belgian bali enthousiasts know where I could buy one without going abroad?

  • @cutlerylover can you recommend me a good balisong for around $200? The only one i have found thats good and cheap is the Benchmade model 42 but they dont make that anymore.

  • @ArmyPig007 Go for a Bradley Kimura. Best flippers around 100 bucks.

  • 15 people cut themself doing this

  • how do you make a transition from the ice pick grip to the regular hold. are there any moves for that or no.

  • dam sentry down

  • what it was obvuis hes the red spy

  • how do you get back to your original hold after transitioning to ice pick.. using a move not just stopping.

  • 3:45 for what the red spy did.

  • Once u get to the rotate part insted of rotating if u just flik up it loks nd the blades away frum u....win win. I still think it looks cooler wen u rotate tho XD

  • "Common sense." - I'm holding a Balisong, I have a wooden desk. Must. Stab. Desk.

  • GAY ASS FUCK VID

  • @SicSoulzGamin79 FUCK YOU THIS VID IS THE BEST

  • Icepick grip? Don't you mean the backstab grip? loltf2

  • ersdi entero perkin mono qlo :D

  • hey cutlery...i really need your help like no jk..... i just bought a fury black trainer balisong... and i wana know how i can keep those two pins in there..... i hear they fly out...could i super glue them?

  • MedStudentInTraining, :) I first wrote and then started reading the posts :D Then you see I agree with you!

  • Second is a suggestion if I may. You mention a self defence situation where you might want the blade to be pointing outside... Why not in such case doing step one as you initially shown, stopping the step two when you pivot the safe handle down, and making a backwards move with the bite handle just throwing it up to open the knife with blade pointing outwards. That is no turning whatsoever. Hope I explained it clearly :)

  • First of all a little feedback warning about a situation that I discovered with a trainer balisong: in a step 2, when you are pivoting the safe handle through the gap in between your fingers holding it, if the blade is a bit faster than the bite handle to drop - it will stub right into your palm... Not nice! I am not going to practice this move just because of this possibility, not with a live knife.

  • Cuterlylover - first of all, nice move. Its simple yet fun. However, I have a question. After you let the blade drop down, instead of rotating it and then popping the handle up..why not just flip the handle up at that point. It is easier to do (at least for me) and it leaves you in a more self-defense grip. Thoughts?

  • Thats a real good idea.

Get a new knife and start cutting up paper.

It won't dull the blade at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @ScurvyCrocodiles Knifes are for cutting, cutting any material dulls the blade.

  • @NightWolverine Knives are for cutting materials. That is true. If I cut an orange, that would be a practical use.

Cutting a piece of paper, is just asinine. There is no purpose in cutting paper other than to dull the blade.

  • @CanaanIsSnazy i do agree with you, but not all knives are for cutting. you probably wouldnt use a butterfly or switchblade for cutting. you would use them more for stabbing in self defense

  • @YourBrainz4Breakfast Then why the bloody hell would you cut paper with them?

  • @CanaanIsSnazy it was a demonstration on how sharp the knife was and that there was actually danger in him cutting himself

  • Thumbs up if you're actually viewing this for the Balisong Instructional

  • @mrchucklenut

I just wanna become a Spy

  • @mrchucklenut why else would I be here?

  • ENOUGH WITH THE TF2 REFERENCES!

  • gentlemen

  • " Just lay your weapons down and walk away."

  • now zap a sentry lol

  • now back stab the sniper...

  • You can do your fancy knife tricks, but can you sap a sentry?

  • @mgh797 (pours water on sentry) yup

  • @mgh797 he doesn't need to he's a pyro :D

  • @mgh797 yes.

  • @mgh797 second time i saw that, whats sapping and whats a sentry? You mean trees? Like, getting sap out of a sentry tree? Is there a sentry tree? Idk. Plz dont tell me its something from that spy ninja game.

  • @hifatpeople

It's from a video game called Team Fortress 2. In the game, you can play as a spy who carries a balisong. They can 'sap' sentry guns built by engineers, essentially destroying them.

    tl;dr it's a video game

  • @RadioTaters son of a bitch, i knew it. wtf

  • @hifatpeople

Just to be clear, TF2 is in no way a "spy ninja game".

  • @RadioTaters i dont really care, just to be clear

  • TF2 is a spy ninja game.

  • @mgh797 he might need to go tf2 training for that

  • @mgh797 SPIA SAPPIN MIA SENTRY

  • @mgh797 Or headshot a sniper with a revolver?

  • Cool :D

  • seria genial despues de eso enterrarsela a un flaite

  • would you say... its so sharp it can. BACKSTAB someone? trollface.jpg

  • Um, can you help me with my Bali-Songs saftey latch it's always loose and it gets in the way of my tricks and it iritates me... got any tips?

  • @raidz10 Sama

  • @raidz10 same here?!

  • I'll never be a good spy ):

  • it pisses me off when games incoperate an amazing thing and abunch of people automaticly associate the two. I love team fortress but seriously shut up about it.

  • @killingfreely Ikr. I mean tf2 is fun. But please stfu about it. I mean I have heard so many jokes about butterfly knives because of the game.

  • @DeputyFifey Gentlemen

  • I get scared by his famous words in each move, "Here's the tricky part"

  • my balisong has the latch on the safe side of the blade

  • That's a really nice balisong. Where does one get one of those?

  • *ahem* Mentlegen.

I was like O_O wait what??

  • @cutlerylover can you do i latch drop with that kind of knife? cause ive only seen it done with a benchmade 42 so far

  • have the SAME blue encripted BENCHMADE MODEL 51 :D AWESOME! I LOVE IT

  • @traceradam says the one with trollface avatar

  • @ryleh8 no life

  • watch team fortress 2 meet the spy & teach us how to the move the spy does when transforming from a scout into the red spy at 2:44

  • @cheeseman441 It's called the Y2K Rollover, he has a tutorial on it. :D

  • @cheeseman441 I believe its called a thumbroll, you can probably find a tutorial if u searched it, i did

  • TAPING IS FOR PUSSIES. Got my 51 today and already cut 3 times. Takin it like a man!

  • @Juggernaut0722 gut* :D

  • @Juggernaut0722 gut.

  • @Juggernaut0722 "I'm going to gut you like a Cornish game hen."*

  • @Juggernaut0722 LOL Thanks to all who corrected me. :)

  • SPY!

  • "Gentlemen"

  • @mvp509 "we got a problem"

  • cutlerlover ive got a benchmade m51 and it's got what i can only describe as tarnish going along the length of the middle of the blade. i just noticed it recently and was thinking it might have appeared after i sharpened it myself awhile back in a pull-through sharpener. any idea how to get rid of it, maybe a way to buff it out or something? any help would be appreciated thanks.

also, i wash it regularly and dry it thoroughly, yet after a day or so of flipping it starts to creak. thoughts?

  • @TheWorkOver: I'm not too sure what you mean by "tarnish" but I would highly suggest NEVER to use a pull-through sharpener. It takes way too much steel off the blade and doesn't even get it that sharp. If you don't have proper sharpening tools send it into BM with $5 and they'll sharpen and align it for free.

Instead of washing it (unless you're getting dirt all over it) spray some WD-40 on it. This will get rid of the creaking and protect from rust. Just be careful, it'll be slippery for awhile

  • i held it too far up and stabbed the side of my palm, parallel to my pinky finger. FUCK.

  • @camaroXpharaoh Lol i stabbed out a piece of my index finger

  • @Thickpaper1 ha i've never cut myself from the knife, even while practicing the basic aerial, even when i caught it by the blade. but this seemingly easy trick is when i cut myself.

  • @camaroXpharaoh I was doing another trick when i cut off my finger :D, now you can see a piece of meat missing in my finger

  • Phhht who needs common sense?

  • SPY! (your name here) backstabed

  • 0:50 "Tape up your blade" Yeah I probably should have done that. Fifteen minutes in and I had several cuts from my first, weirdly sharp from the package, balisong. One day later and I'm surprised nobody has noticed

  • hahahah "just be careful with it, use common sense" lol that comedy

  • Gentlemen

  • thats the Benchmade Model 51 Morpho for all of you wondering what knife it is

  • cutlerylover where did you buy that knife

  • i did this in like 5 minutes bitches hahahahahaahXD

  • What is the fastest way to get into an ice pick grip?

  • @840103937 by holding it in reverse grip and just simply rotating the safe handle (facing away you) to behind the bite handle

  • No only the noobs are here because of team fortress 2. Noobs such as you.

  • @Alexrider000 What does coming here because of tf2 have to do with being a noob?

  • Face it, we're all here because of Team Fortress 2 :P

  • @bloonbloonzhang I'm here because of xscapeartist.

  • @bloonbloonzhang True facts...

  • @bloonbloonzhang not all of us. at least im not. i never even played it. im just in to knifes. siting at your computer all day long and playing video game sucks!!! i prefer playing with a knife or spending time with freinds skating or showing of some balisong trick.

  • @bloonbloonzhang Not at all, actually.

  • @bloonbloonzhang I'm here cuz im asian :p

  • yay tf2

  • @bloonbloonzhang not true im here cause of my love of weapons

  • @bloonbloonzhang some people actually aren't, they want to learn new moves, like me and I didn't even know about TF2 before balisongs

  • @bloonbloonzhang Or mabye filipino's are here to learn more about what they created? Not everyone's a nerd

  • @blubbersticks Totally agree. I'm here to learn about my heritage. Im not a poser who picked this up from his bootleg PS3

  • @bloonbloonzhang Actually I'm here because of Counter Strike Source, I found a skin as the butterfly knife that uses as the normal knife, I thought it was cool when I was like...what? 10? And my dad was like "hey! I know how to work one of those" and he brought home one and I've been learning ever since :)

  • @bloonbloonzhang yea. this is what should be used before backstabbing.

  • @bloonbloonzhang Nope not me :P

  • @bloonbloonzhang i'm actualy not! lol

  • @bloonbloonzhang No, not me i am here to learn a balisong trick

  • @bloonbloonzhang Never even played it. I'm here because of GTA SA Millenium mod. There was knife mod that made blade into balisong.

  • @bloonbloonzhang yep. I'm pretty sure that everybody whos Knows about balisongs Got it from tf2.

  • @UberWaffles9 I'm not

  • @bloonbloonzhang I'm not

  • @bloonbloonzhang no im not

  • you can also get it to face the outside by flipping it over your hand after you the first position. After you open it, you flip it over your hand between your thumb and first finger and twist it 180 degrees when the bite handle is pointing down, then just grab it in your bottom 3 fingers. If you do it right, you can do it the whole thing in one motion. :P

I hope my explanation wasn't terrible. lol.

  • 13 people got spy checked while trying to uncloack stab

  • When I do this the blade always ends up facing out instead of in, even though I hold the safe handle.

  • @RedneckMonkey762 I think you skip the part where he twists it its more effective but less flashy I guess you could say.

  • haha right when you were saying keep safe basicly i dropped my butterfly and sliced my food

  • this sounds like a song from a game called MoJo

  • I think that if u r going to use one for defense and they just see u flipping this thing arount they wont want to go near u. I think its best for intimidation

  • I don't understand what I'm doing wrong; when I drop to swing the blade under my hand, the tip keeps going INTO my hand instead of underneath. I don't know how much more I can practice without bleeding to death lol

    Can anyone help?

  • I'm sure it's been brought up before but I'm gonna hafta go ahead and completely disagree with that part about holding a knife with the blade AWAY from you for defense...how exactly are u limited? if ur in icepick grip and u turn the blade away from u u've just lost ur ability to hook and cut at the same time, and u've lost most of ur draw cut ability...

  • Great info love your tutorials keep posting.

  • Why would anyone "thumbs down" this vid?!

  • I think I have this down for the most part, but I still poke my palm with the blade sometimes. I also have like 3 cuts on my fingers just from learning the basic aerial whihc I'm still a little shaky on lol XD

  • NOOOO Jeff i was doing an aerial with my bear and son trainer and I bent the handle just enough so I can't lock it

  • this should be a update for the "hugging backstab" for the spy in tf2

  • I was always taught to fight with the blade towards me, and that's what feels more comfortable to me when practicing.

  • Eff if i was useing it for defence I wouldn't be all fancy and shit, Ill just quick draw and stab.

  • scratched up my hand tring to do this one

  • @RockMySrocks My balisong has a pocket clip, making this trick more difficult, and i dropped the open balisong on my scrotum.

    There, clear 'nuff?

  • BAH! BALISONG WHY U HAVE POKET CLIP!?!?

Totaly just dropped a live blade on my lap trying this with a pocket clipped balisong.

  • Also if you just turn the knife the other way the blade will face away from you,

basically after you pivot the blade between your index in thumb turn it so the handle comes back up to hit your thumb, then as the handle comes around to the back of your hand catch it to hold it, with the blade safely facing away from you.

  • @MrScorn It's a bit harder to do naturally but it could be done.

  • His voice reminds me of the guy from Mega64.

  • the spy should watch this tutorial

  • you can get the blade facing outwards while holding the safe handle with a small modification of the move. start normally, horizontal opening against the back of your hand, but when you swing it back in do no rotate the handle in your hand. still let the handle pivot through your thumb and forefinger, but don't spin the handle. after that, instead of flipping a handle towards you and closing that way, spin the handle away from you and it will open with the blade facing out

  • Zippo tricks balisong tricks. geze you are like my idol

  • If you managed to kill them I will show you there were NOT like me.

    :E

  • At min 3.04, you said that you have to rotate the balisong. but, if you don't rotate it, you will open it in the defensive way. Is there a reason why you have to rotate it?

I'm Italian, there aren't Italian video for balisong training, but your videos are fantastic. thank you!

  • i cant do the last turn right it just turns into the defence one lol

  • Gentlemen.

  • The first trailer of TF2 spy used this spin to stab the sniper too.

  • red spy in the base!

  • Ahem... Gentlemen?

  • i think in any dangerous situation your supposed to go with the quickest and safest trick/move. if i carried a butterfly knife/balisong and i was bein jumped or somethin, i would definately simply use the latch drop, quick and effective.

  • lol u do this so smoothly, but i was wondering where i could buy a butterfly knife. i got one for xmas but i wanna order another one.

  • @x14Epiphany14x There are a lot of sites. Benchmade has their own, and most of their products are available there. there's onestopknifeshop, edcknives, uniqueblade, bladeplay, and many others.

  • )try to put a rubberband around the safe handle (I broke off my handle, it pissed me off)

  • okay so my latch on the bite handle is really loose is there a way i can tighten it so it doesnt get stuck between the handles during a trick without wrecking my knife?

  • fuck i just broke my balisong doing this trick. now i got to wait so i can do more of ur tricks!!!!!!!!!!

  • the knife fighting guide "put 'em down, take 'em out" recommends not to use the ice pick grip due to it's lack of maneuverability in a fight, it also states somewhere that if you must use an ice pick grip, using the blade towards you allows for you to stab into your opponent, and then pull down to cut him.

I'm just saying... cool vid tho, subbed. :D

  • WHY DO YOU HAVE DIFFERENT ONES!?!? XD i just watched a video where you hade the BENCHMADE 42 ( please go to the website and message them to REcontinue making it, it's an AMAZING knife )

  • ur awesome man ur like the big brother ill never have
