Lots of elevated freeways in Shreveport and they are death traps. only two lanes with no breakdown lane and if you enter going too slow, you can get rear ended by a semi and have a car end up only half the length it started out as.
there was no reason to elevate that road except politics. we dont have elevated roads in houston. in austin they cant offend anyone and politics and not offending takes priority
OMG! I don't even recognize it anymore! i grew up off 183 and Balcones Woods. We moved there in 1974 and it was in the country, with just a few convenience stores and a catfish restaurant.

Love that stretch of 183. That's a great drive. Can't wait until you do the stretch between Loop 45 and Leander.
