I used to think rolls were for pussies too... Although over the years I came to realize its easier to initiate a roll on race than from a stop, especially on the highway or interstate at least around here. The minute you pull away from a stop light your ass is getting pulled over.
@Possummam rolls are for ppl who's cars can't take care of business from a stop properly or who are already going when the encounter happens lol. i don't mind doing dig runs though. roll run was just the easiest way to guage the power difference rather than the drivetrain difference. you know how it goes, the less excuses for either party to make the better.
@dtlokey Going from a roll is a lot better if you plan on keeping your tranny for a few months too. Digs arn't really all that great because of the clutch drops. A lot can happen if a car was built without paying attention to everything else. Plus rolls for FI cars are the only real way to keep boost up for the most part. Good run but this is one of those things where I kind of saw where it was going.

I'll take a Mustang for raw power and despite how crazy I am about the Fox body Mustang, unless you get decent suspenion they don't handle worth a chit and braking isn't that great. Hondas handle better, but you can only squeeze so much out of the smaller displacement engine. Guess it comes down to personal prefference and what you plan to do with it.

@331lilcoupe it's not really an off the shelf kit. i know it's a master power turbo and a T4 of some kind though not a very large one. and the rest of the kit really does look to be pieced together or custom fabricated. plans on revamping it a piece at at time, lol guess he's using the 'if it isn't broke don't fix it' method for the time being.
both fast cars...just that third gear you gotta watch for in the 5.0's. unless he is running a 9 inch and 373 gear but on that stock 8.8 that is for sure the power gear.

I used to think rolls were for pussies too... Although over the years I came to realize its easier to initiate a roll on race than from a stop, especially on the highway or interstate at least around here. The minute you pull away from a stop light your ass is getting pulled over.

@Possummam rolls are for ppl who's cars can't take care of business from a stop properly or who are already going when the encounter happens lol. i don't mind doing dig runs though. roll run was just the easiest way to guage the power difference rather than the drivetrain difference. you know how it goes, the less excuses for either party to make the better.

@dtlokey Going from a roll is a lot better if you plan on keeping your tranny for a few months too. Digs arn't really all that great because of the clutch drops. A lot can happen if a car was built without paying attention to everything else. Plus rolls for FI cars are the only real way to keep boost up for the most part. Good run but this is one of those things where I kind of saw where it was going.

@np112983 hey fuckstick the 4.6 was introduced in 1996.the 5.0 has been around since the 60's.the "fox" mustangs are 5.0's i will admit i dont kno shit about imports but they can be damn quick.btw im a huge ford fan.now the 4.6 can be swapped in but itll take more money than id be willing to spend!!!also how many versions of the 4.6 are there???

@maroon89lsc Just between 1996-2010 there are at least 7 basic variations in the mustang. there is the 4.6 2v non-pi 215hp in the 96-98 gt, pi (power improved heads) 2v 260hp in the 99-04 gt, 4.6 3v 300hp in 05-10 gt(08-10 had 315hp but no major changes in motor), 4.6 4v 305hp in 96-98 cobra, 4.6 4v 320hp in 99-01 cobra(redesigned intake and heads), 4.6 4v SC 390hp (most were really over 400hp) in 03-04 cobra, 4.6 4v 310hp(i think) in the 30-04 mach 1 and im pretty sure thats it for 4.6 motors

@maroon89lsc yeah there are many different variations though minor outside of the mustang line up between the windsor and romeo motors its kinda rediculous really. i was only refering to mustang issued 4.6 motors just ran out of characters at the end of that comment and youre right the mark viii had a 4.6 4v motor in it but im not sure on the hp i think early models were <300hp but later models got around 300hp.

i have a 95 civic thats totally stock right now but im hoping to have a little over 300hp in it before long. whats funny is that my dream car is an 89 fox gt, but i still think hondas are really cool. hondas and mustangs are just two different types of cars; one's a muscle car and the other is a tuner car. thats seriously all they are. for someone to say that their civic could beat a mustang, good for them. for someone to say that their gt could beat a civic, good for them too.

I'll take a Mustang for raw power and despite how crazy I am about the Fox body Mustang, unless you get decent suspenion they don't handle worth a chit and braking isn't that great. Hondas handle better, but you can only squeeze so much out of the smaller displacement engine. Guess it comes down to personal prefference and what you plan to do with it.

I respect you admitting you lost the race without a million excuses. I really wish the guys running Hondas around here wouldn't give me a million excuses after I beat them in a lifted Jeep. They just can't admit that their car sucks and the 8" muffler, chrome rims, cracked body kit, and cone filter do nothing for performance. Yes, I have been beat in the Jeep by Hondas, but I can honestly say I've beaten more than have beaten me.

@331lilcoupe it's not really an off the shelf kit. i know it's a master power turbo and a T4 of some kind though not a very large one. and the rest of the kit really does look to be pieced together or custom fabricated. plans on revamping it a piece at at time, lol guess he's using the 'if it isn't broke don't fix it' method for the time being.

Dtokey I'm glad you actually admit you were beat. I am a fan of Hondas and Mustangs call me weird but I enjoy both of them and have owned both. People tend to forget how little the foxbody mustangs weigh just like people underestimate Hondas potential because of people screamin about their H22a....which an H22 is nothing to brag about in the first place.

@marksranger yea man i really hate when people start listing off a phone books worth of excuses. either you win, or you lose and need to bring more to the table. I lost and afterward i brought more to the table in other situations and won/lost some of those too. V8 vs a 4cyl shouldn't matter but people really seem to make it the deciding factor for what's right and what's wrong. so long as the end result suits the user that's all that really matters. like they say there's always someone faster!
