  • Just turned onto Willie Dixon's "Nervous," and thinking Rory Gallagher's "Off the Handle" is a response to that, particularly the way he does it at Montreux 1994.

  • does anyone know the key of this?

  • *finds new music ive never heard before.............see's that lil wayne is fucking mentioned* sigh, no longer want to hear it now, stop comparing that faggot to good music, sheesh, give it a goddamn break already

  • 8 people too nervous to press the right button

  • A true craftsman.

  • Love the man. Look at that bashed up bass - he relates some funny stories in his memoirs about trying to catch a cab with that bass - Nobody would pick Willie up. So Memphis Slim would flag a cab while Willie & his bass hid out of sight. Slim would open the door and hold it open so willie & his bass could run & jump in.

  • i gi git gitz ne nee ne nervous.. man do i gitz nervous...

  • One of the coolest things I have ever seen...and heard.

  • you know what i despise.. the fact that the government still enslaves black people.

let me ask you, when was the last time you heard this type of music from a black man on mainstream tv ? only thing you see is hiphop, cheap music about cars, woman and useless shit... the system still has black people enslaved and they dont even realize it... i wish black people would be free some day (this is coming from a white man)...

  • @Skeksisexy u sir, r a fuckin moron.. how old r u, 14? when was the last time u saw an elvis video on tv? god dam gvrnmnt... ya no they do control wats on mtv. i must have forgotten all the rights blacks had back in the day. im sure one day lil wayne will realize how he is being enslaved. ur a fuckin dumass. y dont u go ask ur teacher to explain a lil about the difference between slavery n freedom u stupid "white man"

  • Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @Moiraxi the ending "one" put that little bit of class that the comment needed.

  • @ThePointingArrows Sometimes I prefer a visualised comment than a verbalised comment!!!

I think is stronger the first one than the second!!!

This song is still Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 for me.

  • he is a legend. he cofounded the pre war chicago blues with muddy waters. its sad that both are gone but then again we have this to remember

  • this guy was one of the founders of post war chicago blues along with muddy waters. he was a legend

  • Damn! only Willie could make stuttering sound this good.

  • No Willie Dixon= no todays rock or metal or music at all nor blues

  • Yahu malmısınız Willie Dixon kekeme filan değil. Şarkının sözlerini anlarsanız niye kekelediğini de anlarsınız. Teatral bir durum var orada.

  • Black people could sing back then. What happened? What the fuck is a lil' wayne?

  • @Socioistic white americans hate the blues and this black artist back in those days as much as you hate little wayne, they only get respect in europe

  • @TheSatanas666

For severely different reasons, though. They hated the blues because it was new, it was different, and most of all, it was black. I hate lil' wayne because he's a talentless hack, not because he's trying to express himself individually, and not play what everyone else plays, like Willie, and the blues, and jazz artists of yesteryear.

  • beautiful hahha just beautiful

  • 8 nervous persons..

  • @Brucy6666 Haha

  • Is this where Daltry got his idea ofr stuttering in My Generation?

  • @myroseaccount probably not

  • @myroseaccount no, he got it from the fact that his ''generation'' was considered by the older generation as less mannered less educated and that the way the young people spoke was eroding english language. so in the song he pretends to be a retarded kid praising his generation

  • 1:38 dibs on the right one!

  • Negro Genio Total!

  • He's probably only nervous because he's th-th-the only bababa black man in there!

  • The man could've held the Titanic together if he had been on board.

  • Really who is best Sonny Boy, Howling Wolf or Blues-Harper? youtube.com/watch?v=xq7hjhsPMlY

  • @chewymeemee no one

  • @chewymeemee Sonny (2) taught Wolf (he'd married Wolf's sister) and was a specialist on harp, as well as sang well. He also played a different form that most hear on recording. Wolf used a (generally with exceptions) minimalist approach intentionally blend it and not overshadow any other element in carefully constructed songs (No matter how wildly performed) Wolf played great slide too. When you say "best" most will never have heard other harp stuff Wolf could do, which he did for me on tape

  • @howlingsandy I would love to hear that is their a way you can send me a copy?

  • You'll know when those fresh songs we made are available, it will be news.

You may not realize, it's how I get by and take care of a number of people in great need, and also rescue some in danger, via sporadic income of an artist. Oft infringed but about to nail those suckers at last. But I can point you to one, but done in 1985, Wolf's not playin' harp on this version, I am. I'm not singing it, as with Wolf, Mike Wilhelm is. But it IS one of the songs we did 3w.+youtube.com/watch?v=q0X3NH7Z5wM

  • Memphis Slim I believe. It says it in the description and they collaborated in the early 1960's.

It was a great performance by the both of them.

  • Brilliant song from beginning to end!

  • Good!!!

  • Probably the inspiration for Van Morrison's stuttering on Astral Weeks' "Cypress Avenue"...

  • Fun-tastic! :) 5*

  • i love the blues

  • nnnn ice viddd mmannn lol dixon is a great composer ...very original man thanks for this

  • I wonder where The Who got the idea for "My Generation?" Hmmm.........

  • Haha... I thought the same thing when I first saw this video...

  • The stuttering in The Who's My Generation is based on the way the mods of that time used to speak - full of speed ... I'm not saying they couldn't have taken the idea from Mr. Dixon, but the "official" version is that they wanted to resemble the speed-induced stuttering of many Mod guys.

  • I've watched this documentary and it said that they enjoyed american blues in the very beggining of their carrer... maybe.

  • Sunnyland Slim on piano.

Nothing would be possible without him.

I shooked hands with Willie, in Mexico City. I got "very nervous".
