  • haha its sounds like you should just be hoggin it down the road.

  • brasiuol tudo mundo euq pliqe vieen

  • i think i need to win the lottary and figure out were this guy lives

  • Your project was a success! I'm sure that if you wanted to, you could build a kart that can go mach 2.

  • I want to build one, just because. I've got an 81mm holset off an old Cummins. What is the cost into making something like this if I already have the turbo?

  • @DesertRat86

It all depends on what you can scrounge or make

If i had to buy all the pipe work & fittings it would have cost a small fortune

  • 0-10 in 1.5 minutes!

  • @russnord

    1.75 actually lol

you dont get it do you

i could just spend a weekend fitting a 750 bike engine in to the back of it and really make it go.

But to build and develope a gas turbine not so many people have done that

  • @doubleboost thats not the point, I understand you doing something different. Its just SLOW. Cool design but other it would be alot cooler if it went faster. :)

  • @russnord

one day you will understand what really COOL is lol

  • @doubleboost can you fill me in on what the gas mileage on that sucker is?

  • @russnord owned

  • @PaperClip459 Yea im going to go cut myself because some guy going 5 mph in a turbine powered go kart thinks its badass...

Please dude.. COOL would be if he started it up and a fucking 10 foot flame shot out the fucking turbine, now that I would tip a beer to.

  • @russnord lol if you could build a turbine powered kart that went even 1 mph you'd think it was cool... too bad you can't even do that, nice try though

  • @PaperClip459 If I could build a turbine ANYTHING I would think it was cool. I already have a mustang gt, I can have my speed and torque if I want it. The whole point is I wouldn't waste my time because it isnt practical, you cant drive it on the road and its just a stupid fun project, THATS IT. Its not like he broke new ground or did something never done before. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

  • @russnord lol really? i bet you most of what you (and everyone else) does is impractical... so if that's your argument then it's a pretty weak argument. here's the bottom line: i never said this was the coolest thing in the world, all i said was that it was cool and it is. would i build something like this? no, but if i could and i had the time then you bet i would. that's it

  • @PaperClip459 The bottom line was you said I was OWNED. I liked the video until I seen that the go kart was VERY slow. I mean honestly, I clicked this video expecting that go kart to take off, I for one wasnt impressed. Thats all. If you dont agree with my opinion thats too bad.

As far as what I do with my car, I drive it and fix whats wrong with it. I dont do anything impractical other than waste gas when I get on the peddle.

All that time research and money to go slower.

  • @russnord

All I read is mindless babble - by saying one day you'll see what really cool is, he's implying that cool doesn't just earn it's title through, well "speed and torque" ha... it's through things like; understanding engineering, setting/completing a project of your own and then appreciating your accomplishments and abilities. You my friend, have a ghastly and impractical car - so do not talk about practicality, you have no leg to stand on.

  • @russnord Also, you should learn from this, not to engage in a conversation where you are tempted to belittle someone's achievement because you STUPIDLY made an assumption. The title for the video if I may remind you states "JET POWERD GO KART WITH AFTERBURNER" - which is truthful, it does not say anything like... 'SPEED SPEED SPEED - JET POWERED GO CART WITH 100 METER AFTERBURNER, IF YOU'RE A PLONKER, COME WATCH THIS - 1 BILLION MILES PER HOUR AND FLYS'

  • @EarlSmithofWarwick I love how my comment which WAS made in fun, was ripped apart so bad because of this guys inability to take a joke about his baby.

Honestly, the fact that you fitted a gokart with a jet IS cool, you probably designed that whole thing to form fit to it.

  • @EarlSmithofWarwick What REALLY makes me laugh though, is that fact that not only did the OP of this video take my comment as an insult, a few of you actually had the nerve to reply back to ME saying owned, and now with you with the "mindless babble". Your WHOLE response was a mindless babble, honestly.

You say I belittle the mans achievement by simply stating fact?

I am sorry, as interesting as this "project" is, I was mislead by the title, I expected it to move thats all

  • the art of engineering..

  • very nice,

  • if he built this i feel sure he could build something that would scortch your nut hair with speed

  • a simple kart wheels have made a bomb

  • is that us on the moon at 1:01 ?

  • close your eyes while playing the video, turn up the volume and it sounds like a scene from top gun

  • Looks amazing and is quick enough compared to some of the other vids of builds. If you could get a wider frame to fit 2 burners man that would be incredible.

  • Good morning sir, can I see your drivers license, road fund license, vehicle registration document and proof of insurance please??!!!! Love the project mate, well done, keep on inventing and have fun in the process!! Good on you.

  • looks and sound brilliant!!! hope you will develop speed also :P

  • super slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • @Ashereno

It is acyually quite quick if i wanted fast i would have spent a weekend bolting a bike engine in to it.

Instead of 2 years developing a gas turbine

  • @doubleboost It could be very fast.

Now that it's working alright start taking off weight and lower the drag :D

But, my curiosity ain't about speed.

I wanted to ask about how does it feel in the steering with the turbine so far on the right side. Does it feel like pushing to the left?

  • @yo6ial

It handles like a bag of shite with all that weight over the back end

    The steering is very light

But it had no tendancy to push to one side

  • @doubleboost Did you think about also having the gas turbine hook up to the rear axle? just a thought

  • @Ashereno yeah but you pay for the amazing sound of a gas turbine!!!!

  • so, when u go to the moon?

  • I love the flyby, sounds just like a plane. Great work man.

  • Atatch some wings and it's highway to the danger zone!

  • I love complicated and impractical solutions to simple problems. This is great. Not because it is the fastest kart but because it is the LOUDEST :) I would like to know what kind of material was used for the afterburner nozzle.

  • Incredible job! Yes one could put a busa motor on the back...but to hear that jet engine roar is cool. Love the use of a turbo!

  • LOL!!!!!! 0:51

  • a lawnmower motor would go faster than that!

  • @mikeandnicoskuxx

    Possibly

That is not the point it is the building of a jet engine

I could mount a big bike engine in the back of it in a weekend

Lets see some of your work

  • i can see one small problem. and that is that the jet pipe is off centered to the kart. this must seriuosly mess up the steering.

  • @themaster2112

It actually drives ok considering how much weight is over the rear axle

With a solid axle it was undrivable the axle now has a free running hub

This means it only brakes on 1 rear wheel

More video in the pipe line

  • Crash has got nothing on this nitro cart

  • Nomex is your friend

  • @twocanucksBSsomenews

    overalls are nomex lol

    thanks for watching

  • This is amazing dude! Congrats!

  • Still don't understand why they don't feature this extreme fun at the indoor-kart. A shame...

  • Should have said (first) lmao

  • Wtf is a tert.

  • ROCKET kart.

  • Aperture has some competitors

  • 90kg? make a jetpack out of it xD

  • @robiniroven

Trouble is the jet weighs 100 lol

  • DO WANT

  • One of the local traffic police told me the same thing and to go away and never do this again

  • so illegal, ahhaaha

  • Dear Santa...

  • It was making 90 kg of thrust

    measured with bathroom scales

  • how many pounds of thrust? 55?

  • It seems slow

  • ATOMIC BATTERIES TO POWER, TURBINES TO SPEED.......

  • time travel?

  • Veryyy nicee....

  • really

  • that tube ain't no fucking jet engine.

  • @kokogro u stupid bro? look at the turbo charge its hooked up to. L2Learn

  • @garranechan that stupid looking and sounding tube ain't no fuking jet

  • @kokogro sigh, the tube is the afterburner, the round thing behind it is the turbines, they happen to be using a turbocharger for the turbines, and the combustion chamber is the shiney tube connected to the turbocharger

  • if it is not jet powerd what makes it move

  • seems like if it were really jet powered it'd turn left pretty bad

  • @Pip2andahalf yeah, one would think that would be the case...but there isnt anything else on there...maybe it's powering it through the wheels?

  • You are now cleared for takeoff.

  • how many LBs of thrust?

  • What model engine does this kart have? How much horsepower and torque does it generate? Is it street legal?

  • Show us how it should be done then

  • that shit is fukin slow ....

  • @Simplysick408 Let me see u make a better one out of a turbocharger

  • If they make another back to the future i think I've found the new time travel system.

  • if u make a muzzle that opens up u can get more efficiency

  • Boa noite, ficou muito legal!! vc tem algum esquema ?ou algum site que eu possa pegar um esquema? obrigado e meus parabéns

  • THANKYOU SCIENCE

  • dam this must go like the wind...

  • @StreamFeverNZ A 3MPH WIND, YES. LOL

  • Holy crap, it even sounds like a jet!

  • @JoRdAnThEaWeSoMe1 i wonder why...

  • ha, thats great.

  • What are you useing for a oil pump??

  • Honda petrol engine direct drive to a hydraulic pump (came from a 4 post car lift).

Same engine drives a power steering pump through a reduction chain drive.

  • What are you using the power steering pump for? I am waiting for a hydaulic gear pump I ordered and I have a 1.6hp gasoline handa engine to run it...I am hoping this will finally do the job.

  • pas pump is for fuel 500 psi no problem

  • WOW 500 psi..I am getting a good mist at about 60psi why so high?

  • awesome

  • so sweet

  • Insane!

  • good grief john!! outstanding ab igntion !!

funny that, just finished putting mine back together today LOL!!

just clicked on you tube for a gt fix b4 bath

    regards jon
