  • Is the video of Flintoff's handshake with Brett Lee after the match on Youtube? Can someone point me to it? Cheers.

  • Why did Fred get all the back page praise. Harmison won it in the end.

Close finishes like that are bad for your health.

  • Oh please...I thought we were supposed to be the whingers. In 2005 we won them back for the first time in 16 years - allow us to celebrate that - then in 2006/7 got stuffed 5-0. Theres always a few dodgy decisions in every series on both sides and maybe we had the luck in 2005 but bloody hell we deserved it. Let's just hope we can stuff you convicts again this year and if we get a few iffy decisions then great.. Bring it on!

  • @asheshero LoL you're going to need a lot of "iffy" decisions go your way to have any chance this summer! :P I agree with what ya said, I too look forward to a hard fought contest between 2 fierce rivals. I just hope you bring your "A" game. 5-0 whitewashes are fun, but fairly boring to watch!

  • Seems there are few Poms that cant handle the truth. Nothing i mentioned above is incorrect in anyway and the footage exists to back it up. Bring on the 3rd umpire refferal system a.s.a.p. ICC.

  • Seems there are a few aussies that cant handle losing....every nation has them, sadly...

  • Great vid

  • do u mean the sides ..? the teams were very evenly matched. considering the form Australia were the underdogs for this one

  • Great Series loved every minute and I'm an Aussie!!

  • when you have a serious like thhis you actuially doint need 20 - 20 cricket

  • INFREDABLE !

  • You know if Glenn hadn't trod on that ball we'd have been absolutely stuffed. You saw the way we hit Gillespie all over the park as if he was a wee schoolboy.

  • Which ball did he trod on? I wasn't following the ashes for some insane reason back then.....

  • During the warm up he trod on a cricket ball and sprained his ankle and so couldn't play.

  • i was there when it happened - i was there

  • i was driving down the M6 that day listening to test match special on radio 4 i had to pull off on junction 17 i couldn't concentrate on the road, i've been watching cricket for 40 years but i cann't remember an arse clenching end to a test match, saying that the Old Trafford test was pretty close, roll on next year, it's a shame Lancashire aren't holding an Ashes test then.

  • bbc always make good tunes.

  • it isn't made by the bbc, it's Booker T & MG's, the song is called Soul Limbo.

  • 5-0 anyone

was one of the best test matches ive ever seen though along with sydney against india this year

  • i Was @ Edgbaston on that Sunday what an amazing day, longstanding memory is the crowd chanting you should have batted first to Ponting.

  • go england! show ur revenge in 2009!...i'm a fan of India....but I really want to see england embarassing the aussies and they can do it!

  • That has got to be the best series I have ever seen! And I like to see the Aussies getting stuffed, even if it is a rarity.

The music is driving me crazy, love it!

  • 2009 repeat of 2005, lets do it!!!!!

  • Commentary sends shivers down my spine every time: "Harmison comes up and bowls to Kasprowicz goes back and carries one is he caught down the legside? There's an appeal for a catch, he's out! England have won!" and the noise of the crowd...Awesome.

  • does anyone know what happened to that really good ashes 2005 vid, I haven't watched it in ages and I think its called "A look back at the ashes 2005" and its got Richie Benaud and warne and other players in it, it was the best vid for the ashes 2005

  • I remember watching this on the Sunday it was on, I really thought that we were going to lose, thank fuck we didn't!!!! I must say though that Lee and Kasprowicz were brilliant, and that is coming from England's No1 fan.

  • This was the most exciting test match ive ever seen. Even though we lost everyone was proud of Kaspa and Lee the way they hung in. Greatest test series ever.

  • unbelievable, brings back some happy memories... shame its on sky now so we cant watch the next ashes series with as much enthusiam as this one!!

Bring Cricket back to free TV!

  • are the 2009 ashes in england not on free tv?? :(

  • I was there what happened i was pissed!! lol

  • one great archivement

  • its soul limbo

  • i love that song! whats it called?

  • It's the bbc cricket theme tune. It's on 198 long wave and 5 live sports extra for every england test match (Test match special).

  • Where did you get the music from?

    what website?

  • who gives a shit you convict it was still a great game

  • Wasnt there a bit of egg on glenn mcgraths face in 2005 when he said that they would win 5-0???

  • Nah. More like a dozen eggs right in his face.

  • Awfully quiet here .. aussies just won 5-0 ... lots of egg on lots of faces here ... hahaha

  • who gives a shit it was still a great match

  • EEEEENGAND!! WOO!

this is a great montage highlights all the brilliant points! haha xD

england are still in it to win this summer

    CMON! xD

  • does any of you got the highlight of this test match?

  • yea seriously, australians are the worst guys to pay spin, thats why they get killed by harbhajan, murali, and others, and then blame them for chucking

  • i was there, was amazing, shame i cant go to australia :( ah well wouldnt wanna see convicts crying.

  • u think after predicting the last series would be 4 or 5-0, Mcgraph would have the commmon sense to not do it again, arrogant prat

  • 5-0? haha, and as for playing Monty easy well, we'll see about that. cmon england.

  • Monty hahahahaha the guy is seeing a shrink! lol and we have handled world class spinners at home so Monty will be easy! once we play to our best we will win every match yeh 5-0

  • Cant wait till this Ashes and seeing Australia win back the Ashes 5-0, Aussie Aussie Aussie

  • Dream on convicts!

Didn't a certain Glenda McGrath say they'd win 5-0 last time! Monty's gonna get ya!

  • It shouldn't of been out technically - it was a great day, eating beef and watching cricket.

  • you wish ....

  • England are gonna get rolled over in Australia!

  • I always knew we would do for some reason, an inner calm. As soon as we didn't do it straight away i knew it would be at the death and when harmy was running up i could tell.

  • That must have been amazing there.

I was buzzing just watching the text commentary on the bbc in work and then the radio on the way home.

  • Had to laugh at your comment about knocking the house down celebrating. I know exactly what you mean. That day was one of the best of my life [apart from getting married] although for the 30 minutes running up to that magic moment myself and my mates just felt absolutely sick - just the worst feeling ever when it looked like we would lose.

  • Its funny because when I get a quiet moment (rarely) and I watch it again I still jump around like it was live! I really should grow up!

  • lol i was there!!! but had my head in my hands, looked up when that final ball pitched and we got em!!

  • I was stuck in traffic for the last hour of this - ran int the house, whacked the tv on and saw the penultimate and the last ball.

I nearly knocked the house down celebrating!
