  • Tim is boring and grim

  • I agree with Kelly and Babs. And I went to Catholic school where we had to dress the same and saw how kids were picked on. Advocating going around in whiteface to fit in is not the solution. It was hard for my parents to afford the uniforms, too, as one company had a monopoly. But when you look at Mr. Gunn, you can see why he is feeling constipation is great. Colorless and depressing. Not my style. I won't tell him how to dress, he should stop telling women.

  • We all have the right to our views and when someone requests not to be contacted personally from a party, we should respect that and not try to dominate them. The issue here is Tim Gunn. To me, he looks like Morris the Cat dressed as George Bush. He is doing the surburban shopping mall tour now that Mr. Blackwell did a generation ago. Except Blackwell had flair and was sex affirming instead of neuter. Gunn states he has not had sex for over 30 years. His fashions look it. Cold, Gender Rigid.

  • Tin Gum looks like a 1952 funeral director in male drag. He pompously tells women not to wear fur while he accept money to make a meat commercial and wears leather. He is a hypocrite and quite drab and grim.

  • School uniforms? NO. That hurts LGBT youth. Anyone different but making a military mindset against them Shame on you Tim. I am conservative and generally like Tim Gunn but I agree that he does look like 1952 and his 15 minutes have just about expired. And don't write to me, Cobalt, as you are clearly trolling.

  • I will port my opinions regardless of if 'Project Fascist Cobalt" like them. (who has constantly tried to bully people here) , I don't go for Tim Gunn and any Richard Nixon look alike telling women what to wear

  • @TheBitchinbabs "Fascism". Right, I direct you to Godwin's law. Also, @Milystillawesome you might want to look up the definition of "trolling".

  • Rigid gender roles in clothes are passe and oppressive. I would not take advice on what to wear from a 1952 Funeral Director in male drag!

  • @TheBitchinbabs You keep harping on the "1952" thing as though there is some reason for the specificity. No, really - are you just so monumentally incapable of saying "I don't like Tim Gunn's fashion sense, and don't agree with what he has to say" and then leaving it alone, instead of essentially trolling an interview which, by all rights is shorter than the time it's taken you to bitch about it? If you think of yourself as so much smarter and more well-adjusted than myself or Mr. Gunn, prove it

  • And, "project colbalt" your icon of Fidel Castro doesn't impress me. If that is another fashion idol of yours, I'll pass on that, too

  • @Dottiecurran My avatar isn't Fidel Castro. You're not even close. You're so far off, I think you might be in some distant expanse of the galaxy.

  • @ProjectCobalt I was about to reply to your post to me when I read the vomit inducing defense you wrote about school uniforms and Tim Gunn to Dottiecurran. You are welcome to follow the fashion advice of this dour looking man stuck in 1949. You are not welcome to be so arrogant to tell other people they should dress the way he or you decide. I think that just about ends my interaction with you.

  • @TheBitchinbabs Wow. Enacting decisions within the hellish social experiment that is the school years that help to lessen the unnecessary anguish and torment that those who are different are subjected to by others by lessening the obviousness of those differences is "vomit inducing"? I'm sorry if I'd rather my child go to school and not be picked on by others because of a clothing choice, and learn to express him or herself through social interaction instead.

  • We can all see how outdated Gunn is, we can imagine his fans here!

  • In other words, Dottie, you're a frumpy harpy...anyone or anything that is elevated beyond your middlebrow perspective is suspect, right? Women like you are the cheapest, you need to be ignored.

  • I don't know if it is possible to look more drab and grim. And he tells women how to dress? The age of gender roles in clothes is long over. I don't wear many dresses and my husband never wears a suit.

  • yea yea yea and so that y u can go out w/t ur husband's big shirt, and he wearing ur thong to work...

  • @Dottiecurran So... because you don't wear them, they don't look good. Is that the gist of it? It's okay to disagree with Gunn - personal fashion is a form of self-expression after all. But, to contrast, if you ask me, I think your husband -should- wear a suit once and a while. If he had a tailored suit, he'd look fantastic in it, as all men do in a properly tailored suit. It's a shame he's missing out on one of the quintessential parts of men's fashion.

  • @ProjectCobalt I don't think my husband needs fashion advice from you or your grim 1950 funeral director. Personally, I think he is wacko as I heard an interview with him in which he said he hasn't had sex in over 30 years. My husband doesn't have that problem. Gunn also supports mandatory school uniforms which is something that crushes diversity. I pick my own style. Don't look for advice from money making "experts" who look like used car salesmen circa 1950

  • @Dottiecurran Go from a school that has uniforms to one that doesn't. The kids in the uniform school like or dislike their peers based on personality or interests. The kids without uniforms hate each other based on appearance alone more often than not. No one wants to hang out with the kid with the weird hair who dresses in spiky leather, which more often than not means that kid is socially maladjusted precisely because of their free expression.

  • @ProjectCobalt cont'd from previous post --> and as well, kids who are poor and can't afford nice clothes needn't worry about being bullied or judged based on their appearance at a school with uniforms. It means everyone dresses in the same fashion, and your preconceived notions about someone no longer factor in - allowing you to judge them as a person, rather than by their clothing or appearance. It -forces- people to not be shallow, and to get to know someone before judging them.

  • @Dottiecurran Also I enjoy how, because he wears a suit - he looks like a used car salesman. I'm going to take a stab and say you probably own at least one pair of crocks, judging by your "I WEAR WHAT I WANT FUCK SUITS" attitude. And as well, I enjoy how you equate celibacy with "WHAT A LOSER HE CAN'T GET LAID BECAUSE HE WEARS BORING SUITS". Way to win the argument.

  • Tim Gunn looks like a dishonest funeral director. He is a part of wacked out Peta, a group protesting when a man with Aids got an animal part to save his life. Some compassion. I'm not impressed with right to lifer, rodent or fetus.

  • @ZarahLean He's a member of an organization that wants people to stop abusing animals. When you can see from interviews that he is clearly -not- one of the morons who do things like that, or try to rebrand fish as "sea-kittens", then why does it matter?

He supports the end of animal cruelty in the world. I can get behind that, even if I dislike their methods.

  • @ProjectCobalt Oh really? He did an ad for meat, shows off his leather in another You Tube segment. I think he is a hypocrite trying to cash in. He also is very over, tired and looks like something from 60 years ago.

  • @TheBitchinbabs I'm not 100% certain what you mean by "something from 60 years ago", but eating meat and wearing leather don't mean you don't want animal cruelty to end. I'd love for animal cruelty to be over with tomorrow - but I still enjoy a burger here or there. He's not a saint - he can support a cause and still be human. But to say "he's part of PETA, he's crazy", despite the obvious evidence within the interview itself that he is most certainly -not- your typical over-zealous PETA member.

  • Tim deserves a nice guy! Or at least a really naughty guy...

  • Ironic that he's photographed with a sewing machine when he's admitted that he can't sew...

  • His heart was broken 23 years ago so it is karma that he now gets millions of people that love him so much.

  • who broke my Tim's heart? LET ME AT THEM!

  • 24 years with no relationship? why, tim, why?? you are too fabulous not to be snatched up by some equally awesome guy. that last guy must've done a number on you.

  • Tim needs a nice guy... he should not be single!

  • He hasn't had a relationship in 23 years???????

I find that hard to believe. He appeals to everyone!!!!!

  • "I've tried to keep this flaw as hidden and as sequestered as possible"

    i love his words

  • Tim is such a classy and well mannered gentleman. I could only wish, as do other men, to be as refined as he is.
