  • I have a question, when i play a solo i am always confined to a few places, and what seperates me from soloing like Steve Vai or Van Halen? i wouldnt want to sound exactly l;ike them but, how do they make solos sound cool? Thanks

  • @darthvaderyoda You suffer from not knowing the neck very well. Get to work.

  • @pebberbrown Damn I love your brutal Honesty, Your helpful guitar insight, and how you light a fire under anybody's ass that writes stupid comments on almost all of your videos that you post.

Despite all the criticism , Questions about Buckethead , and wrong spelling of your name, your still here.....giving Free Lessons.

Can someone get this man a medal ? Or better yet.....a beer !

  • @pebberbrown Ok, thanks

  • Ohhhhhhhhh yeah. Thats a ways off my friend. Teaching 3hrs a day and making big bucks? I dont think it works that way for a couple decades at least. I will need to learn how to become immortal first.

  • 40 bucks an hr part time for just a Masters.

  • Come to think of it never mind, you make more than that now. Guitar lesson's aren't cheap.

  • What are we referring to here?

  • Seriously?

  • is that question supposed to be rhetorical?

  • What are you asking me I dont understand

  • oh yeah yeah

  • Excellent Lessons, Pepper! I wanted to tell you I watched one of your lessons about a week or two ago, where you spoke about doing reps of scales. I remember you pointing at the camera telling people if they couldn't do ten reps they suck. I CAN do ten reps (alot more, actually) but what stuck in my mind was the way you pounded it into the viewer's skull that if you wanna develo0pe speed and articulation, you have to practice repetition ad naseum. I've been doing scales hours/day since and

  • my speed and articulation has improved tremendously in a very short time. I also find when I just "jam" after that, be it alone with a few friends, my note selection is more automatic, and find myself being more creative and fluid.

I like the way you simplify music and theory, and combine it with your vast experience. It makes for informative, and most importantly, FRESH lessons that can break you out of "the box" of redundancy. Thank you so much, man.

  • Please learn how to spell my name correctly.

  • I told you already, I made a mistake because I thought you used "B's" instead of P's because maybe the name pepperbrown was already taken. I have since corrected it, and man, all I've been is complimentary to you, yet the only reply you ever give is this name crap from a month ago.

You're a great guitarist and an awesome teacher, but from what I've seen, your people skills are as shitty as the sloppy scale techniques you harp on all the time.

Please learn how to not repeat yourself.

  • "name crap?" "people skills are shitty?" "sloppy scale techniques you harp on all the time?" SLOPPY SCALE TECHNIQUES??????????

I dont think you get to talk to me like that and expect to get along here with everyone. I correct thousands of people every day on the spelling of my name - If I already did that you can kindly remind me and not disrespect me with comments like these.

  • OK, a.) I was referring to the sloppy scale technique of others you make fun of, not your own. b.) yes, name crap. This is the third comment you've sent me about it from a month ago, because I misspelled it once or twice, and c.) yeah, people skills. I've said nothing but kind and thankful stuff to you whenever I can, and not one thank you, but you sure as hell take the time to repeatedly correct my spelling of your name without single "you're welcome" or "glad to help."

  • For the record, PB, I wasn't disrespecting you, but when I see I have a reply from a man I admire 3 times in a row, only to find out it's the "fix my name" comment again, I'm going to tell it like it is. You seem like a straight shooter, so I told you how I feel. You're a phenomenal guitar guru, but I'm not one of your paying customers, so I don't have to kiss your ass, or do as you say, ya know.

I respect the hell outta what you do, man. You've made me a better player. Sorry.

  • OK good - thanks - move on!

  • @tcinpa37

    @tcinpa37

sorry dude, but you take things too seriously. if you really respect pebber, have learned a lot from him, etc. you should know how he is by now. being a whiner just because you want to make your point is pathetic. and you should most definitely be kissing his ass, because he's teaching you all of this great stuff for FREE.

  • @LfunkeyA Well, this was 4 months ago, there, Johnny Come Lately. And really, mind your own business. We worked it out. Telling people what they "Should" do and how they "should" be on youtube is about as pathetic as you're trying to tell me I was being, so welcome to the club, I guess.

  • @tcinpa37 GUYS GUYS GUYS! Man II wish you would cool it. We are over it already lets talk about scales and chords now.

  • @tcinpa37

i wouldn't care if i had come 4 years late to the party. and i most definitely have to tell what you should do and how you should do it, you ungrateful bastard. mind your manners when you're talking to the man who offers you all of this great information and advice for free. and yes Pebber, I'm done now.

  • Hey Pebber,,,,I am REALLY in awe of your ability to stay calm, despite having to deal with this nonsense!

Where are the hundreds of FREE videos from these detractors? WHO have they taught, again?

PLEASE understand that you have an army of devotees, I am their Leader, and we would be lost without you!

I am a better person for having met you!

  • When your doctorate is complete maybe we can call you Dr. Pebber. That should clear up the confusion. :)

  • One 4th of July in Claremont, Pope Firman had one of those drink covers that fit over a beer that was disuguised exactly like a Dr. Pepper can but it said "Dr. Pecker" with the exact same graphic font and everything. I thought it was a Dr. Pepper but he showed it to me and I could fuckin believe it!

  • That's too funny. Well damn it if David can be a Pope then you can be a Doctor.

It think we've got a new stage name for you here. Dr. Pebber!

  • D pentatonic over Gmin7? I learn something new everyday!

    This is getting GOOD!!!

  • D MINOR pentatonic.... let me fix that!!

  • Man - all those years in College and this is what you are able to say.

  • This is great. It's like showing a person new ways to use the tools they already have.

    Thank you.

  • im sorry pebberbrown^^

  • Funky man, nice solo lessons on here, thanks Pebber.

  • Pepper? You really can't look at his user name and see that its spelled PEBBER.

  • Sweet video
