Almost people would misunderstsnd about SAMURAI. First of all, Samurai was Bureaucrat, they had have to work in castle or government office. Since they were born they had to train sword skill, mathematics, literacy study, confuciusism, singing, NOH dance,history, and science. Samurai was very busy to work.
But when they became unemployed, they could be a teacher in the town. So Samurai was intelligentsia.

Bushido in literally means that, but Bushido is just a set of moral codes for Samurai, which was complied in the Edo period. There wasn't a "Bushido" during Heian period or Kamakura period. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

It means staying by peers always stilly to protect them.In early time Samurai was warrior. But next period Samurai means cultivated warrior as well as bureaucrat.
