As an entertainer and MMA guy whose also played football. If you ever seen Tuff Enuff(WWE) thats a REAL school and many athletes walked out crying. Its tuff in the sense of a Benoit like wrestler who actually took bumps. But then U have the Hogans and Beefcakes who look silly and FAKE as they come. Even in MMA, people will boo a real fight because it can get boring. So what gives here? Real fights can be boring though I still get entertained by real action. Wrestling is for the cinematic fans.

Now based upon a player's finesse and appeal to the crowd the script can be scrubbed on the fly, however it is a play none the less performed by professionals with great athletic prowess. They do get hurt. But more often than not it's not the intention of the "rival" to hurt them it's just occupational hazards.
