If the scots do get a referendum they better win because they could never live down the shame and embaressment and they will forever be seen as full of hot air and will not be taken seriously.
And they will be abused by the british government and they wont have the trump card of threatening to leave the union anymore which currently gives them more power than they would normally have.
So you scots damn well better vote for independance cos your life will be much worse if you don't.
So the poms want to keep the union for of their own ego of having a little bit more power on the world stage? what's really funny is that they need help from a tiny country like Scotland if Scotland is so small and insignificant then why do the poms need Scotland anyway?
@Amunication Scotland isn't even small compared to England, in terms of land mass England is only around 20% bigger.
Look at an accurate European (not a weather forecast one) map, and Scotland is quite a reasonable sized nation in comparison to the rest of Europe.
Scotland has huge potentials with independence given it's size, it has enough green renewable energy for a third of Europe, Scotland was proved to be subsidising the rest of the UK, not the other way around.
I agree, Scotland is now different than New Zealand in my opinion they're both very small countries with small populations but New Zealand is independant, I don't see why Scotland can't be independant if NZ can stand by itself.
@ShRiNkInGMuShRoOmS I suppose if you put all these Scottish islands together as one and connect directly to all of Scotland, then yes you could be right.

What a beauty @ 7:19 - removing that dirty red band off the great celestial Scottish flag.

Scotland has a lot more in common with Norway than it does with England.

Apart from the rather condescending title (read as "Whinge, whinge whinge, when will they shut up?") I rather liked that edition of Panorama.
