it all depends on where your phone was manufactured. Usually the Finland made phones have the best slide build quality, but not always. The one's that are Made by Nokia are apparently the ones with looser slide build quality. My slide quality is pretty solid atm, but it's a bit wobbly on the right bottom corner when closed, and you can hear a clickin sound when pressed. But the slider itself is solid.

Actually, no it doesn't (always) come with a tape. I got mine totally new as well without a tape on the box (not any traces of any tape having ever been there, wich there always is after tape on paper surfaces..) from the provider.

However, there was a protective film over the screen with a blue little tap on it (that I keep on it to this day), wich is standard, so yes, this had been unboxed before.

I have this 8gb version and my brother has the original silver one. My black one is so much better in so many ways, the screen is much bigger and the memory is very useful. On the other hand, I reckon the slide on the older one is much more solid.

Just Check out the Nokia N82 & even though it's PACKED with ALL the features as the N95 8GB, it doesn't feel as good! The titanium shell is slippery upon touch and the buttons too small.

I then tried out the N98 8GB! Felt MUCH better! So I will definately be going for the later.
