I love this game, but that's something that really annoys me. If you land in water, no matter what height you fell from, you live. If you fell from 50 feet up into the water, it would be like slamming into concrete; however in GTA IV, you can go as high as the Empire State Building, which is over 1000 feet, jump out, and live.
