What a austere fucking DOOM! Havent listen to this for years, yet one can not never forget this macabre riff, if you hear it just once - you are fucked for good!
Isnt that Faust on Drums? He was the main drummer for all the early Thorn demos, as well as for Emperor. I have at least 4 versions of this song, plus theres the Emperor cover. Thorns are classic and one of the originals along side Mayhem, Emperor, Darkthrone, Burzum, and Satyricon.
@protopop112 Snorre was present at Euronymous' murder. He traveled with Varg to Oslo, though he waited outside to smoke a cig while Varg went inside to open a can of pwn. He also recorded some of the guitar and wrote some of the music for De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.
@b4rfLyc4ught It is very strange how you mention this. This is reminiscent of the intro to Dissection's final album Reinkaos, yet also sounds a lot like Burzum's Belus. This stuff was really ahead of it's time and I just found out about it.
This is the best song from Grymyrk, 1992 demo by Thorns, from Norway. As far as I remember Snorre was then also composing De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas with Aarseth, but both Snorre Ruch and Christian Vikernes were "stricken from the record" because one killed Aarseth, and another was the driver, though I don't think Snorre believed that Christian's gonna kill the guy... rough him up maybe... kill, no. What would you think?
@Simpson654 actually Snorre didn't know anything since Varg Vikernes never planned to kill Aarseth, as he stated he just went to his apartment to tell him to fuck off, then according to him Aarseth attacked him first...resulting to his death.
Stigmata Diabolicum is done by a different Thorns than the Thorns that is playing this song, the song is by the band with 3 members Satyr from Satyricon, Aldrahn from DHG, and Hellhammer from Mayhem. Stigmata Diabolicum is by a one man band.
It´s Terje M. Kråbøl (Bethzaida, Anti-Depressive Delivery , Killing for Company, Minas Tirith (Nor), Faustcoven)... sorry, should have written that in the info but I was lazy.
You can tell this was an influence on Krohm.
