@hentaipleasemalcolm It was a diffrent time and wasn't uncommon for US companies to take Japanese games and anime and change the name of the show as well as those of the characters on top of usually gutting alot of content out in order to be shown here in the US. So no doubt Stern took this Lupin the 3rd laser disc game and changed the name of Lupin to Cliff and the game to "Cliff Hanger" to make it "more appealing" to a US audience. Of course corporate America are idiots. Even now

@hentaipleasemalcolm Sorry my bad, Ignore my first response as it turns out that the reason why Stern had to call this game Cliff Hanger and change Lupin's name to Cliff was due to the copyright of Maurice Leblanc who created the original Arsène Lupin charecter in his series of novels which the Manga and Anime character Lupin is a unofficial "Grandson" off. It wouldn't be for many years later that the copyright expired and his character and the name would be public domain.
