The jeep that conceals a jet boat was a good idea that needed more thought. Why leave the wheels behind? Make it so the jeep transforms into a boat that can transform back into a jeep! Otherwise, if the chase goes back onto dry land, the guy in the boat is left having to drive back to where he left his wheels. Sure, it's only a cartoon, but that oversight was just silly!
@verilyheld they did have one vehicle that could do that don't remember the name of it but it wasn't in the title sequence because each agent is tied to one vehicle with the exception of the leaders as Miles had yje option of using Buzzard or Switchblade and Matt had the option of using Rhino or Thunderhawk generally they chose to use Thunderhawk and Switch blade though

I always hated the kid in the MASK cartoons. I cannot remember his name. He was the son of the MASK leader. I had always hoped the bad guys would injure him badly or kill him.
I love RARE shows like this. I wish The Hub, or CN would get blocks of these to air on weekend Mornings. Imagine the ratings they could get. All of us retro fans now have kids, nephews, etc.. We would watch, then get the kids in our family to watch. Networks would make money on shows they don't pay to produce now. I wish Discovery was open minded enough to make it's HUB network more available to basic channel line ups for those that don't want to buy or who can't afford higher tiered packages.

It started getting lame when they had the ones that would split into two vehicles. I think Vanessa Warfield had a white Lamborghini then instead of her awesome purple car that turned into a jet (which incidentally when I was like 12 or 13 I took apart with a screwdriver and could never get back together all the way) .

Don't get me wrong, there are some really good toons out today. Venture Brothers and Metalocalypse spring to mind. The 90's had some good stuff, too. Batman, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, pretty much any DC Aniverse show. But, this stuff, to me, will always be the best. Real Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Thundercats, etc. I could go on and on. Since I grew up in the early 80's, I also remember shows like Pac-Man, Trubo Teen, and Voltron. All good, good stuff!

@ojideagu i think its because they weren't meant to be transformers at all but borrowed from the late 70's line of japanese figures from other robot toy lines like Diaclone. So called original transformers toys can't even compare...
@delli2011 Yes Diaclone basically are transformers with a different paint job. The later "transformers", Generation 2 were probably made by a totally different company hence the cheap look and to save money. Springer and Hotrod are very plasticy compared to all the G1.
I also remember this cartoon not many people do. I always thought of it as a cross between transformers and G.I Joe. And yes cartoons today are so stupid. Im just glad they didnt think of barney or spongebob when i was that young we would all be gay!

I never saw any episodes when the show originally aired on TV, but I first found out about M.A.S.K through the United Kingdom Comic Books, and then the DC Comic Versions.
I so remember this. When I'd get home from school, it was M.A.S.K, then Robotech, then Thundercats all in a fuckin' row, man! Then, on Fridays, they'd replace Thundercats with G.I. Joe episodes. Cartoons these days are shit compared to that epicness, let me tell you.

if only times were simpler... i remember having the action figures to this.. although i think they were like my older brothers.. but i remember the theme tune to this.. i must have cought it sometime in my early child hood, being born in 90... but generally my point is that things like this are awesome compared to the crap they pass as cartoons now adays.. i mean nothing from now compares to biker mice from mars, TMNT, Dexters lab ect..

Don't get me wrong, there are some really good toons out today. Venture Brothers and Metalocalypse spring to mind. The 90's had some good stuff, too. Batman, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, pretty much any DC Aniverse show. But, this stuff, to me, will always be the best. Real Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Thundercats, etc. I could go on and on. Since I grew up in the early 80's, I also remember shows like Pac-Man, Trubo Teen, and Voltron. All good, good stuff!

@ojideagu i think its because they weren't meant to be transformers at all but borrowed from the late 70's line of japanese figures from other robot toy lines like Diaclone. So called original transformers toys can't even compare...

@delli2011 Yes Diaclone basically are transformers with a different paint job. The later "transformers", Generation 2 were probably made by a totally different company hence the cheap look and to save money. Springer and Hotrod are very plasticy compared to all the G1.

I so remember this. When I'd get home from school, it was M.A.S.K, then Robotech, then Thundercats all in a fuckin' row, man! Then, on Fridays, they'd replace Thundercats with G.I. Joe episodes. Cartoons these days are shit compared to that epicness, let me tell you.

@Dorelaxen maybe to 8 year old boys... but generally speaking I'd have to say the opposite is true. Cartoons in the 80s were shit compared to what we have today. Spongebob, Samurai Jack, Dexter's Lab, the Fairly Odd Parents, etc are all great shows that work on multiple levels similar to the classic WB Bugs Bunny and gang stuff. They can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Thundercats was a 30 minute long toy commercial. So was MASK.

Then, on Saturday mornings, you'd get up EARLY for even MORE awesome 'toons. Of course, the early 80's were best for this, with stuff like Pac-Man and the video game related cartoons. Real Ghostbusters STILL owns to this day!
