@sp4armyguy, I used to own the 1st LP on vinyl along with probably K & The Gang's first 6 LPs. It's a long story when talking about how my massive LP collection got away from me. For the last 25 years, I've been basically trying to replace my missing, old LPs with CDs. I have three, different, K & The Gang compilation CDs. The track "Kool & The Gang," is on one of them: "K & The G Spin Their Top Hits."
All kinds of waves of pleasure are rolling thru my body as I listen to these old (Real) Kool & The Gang tunes. I played tenor sax in a basement band, too, back in the very early 70's. It's amazing how I can somehow remember every horn line and solo. I 'm singing them along with the record as it plays! What a feeling. Robert Bell's solo is fantastic. That syncopation is brilliant.
(rapsmackcrates) these are the very old kool & the gang music that i thought were long gone from the old days! i don't know where you found them, but i'm glad that you did. what are we talking--1972?

I was in a little 'basement band' in queens at this time and I played tenor sax at the time - the only female I knew of who did so.
I loved the sax solo - used it as an intro to
my music teacher at college. Thank you, thank you for putting this up!!!
