If anybody lives in the Bucks County, Pa area, there is a radio station that broadcasts out of Levittown which is 1490 WBCB. There is a great radio show that is on everyday at 10 called "Sunshine Music Memories" where I have heard this song plus many others before 1950. Al Jolson and Eddy Cantor are big favorites. I am a big fan of this show and it really makes my day. Its the only show of kind, I think. Think station of the stars. WPEN, from Philadelphia, which this program reminds me of.
I have all Deanna's movies. This song should be taught in schools...such a great way to start the day. And only needs a one octave plus one note range so most any kid could manage it. Also great for enunciation.
@Operafilli How did you manage to get all of Deanna Durbin's movies?? I am also a big fan of hers. Currently, I have all of her films, with the exception of : ""It's A Date" (1940), "Nice Girl" (1941) "A Friend Indeed" (1941) "Hers To Hold" (1943) "Christmas Holiday" (1944) and "I'll Be Yours" (1947). Would GREATLY appreciate any information and help from you on how I can get these films...Thanks a million.
Interesting that there are some folks here who relate the song to Silent Hunter 3. I just so happened to included it in my gramophone folder in Silent Hunter 5. Lots of great music from that era. The Andrews Sisters also rock! Rum and Coca Cola anyone?
A great opening number from SPRING PARADE - makes one happy just listening to it! Thanks for posting this uplifting and entertaining song from precious Deanna!!
Which song or tune is the organ playing?
