@195477EP I am a fan of Amy's too, her influences were all of the greats and it showed. Thank you for your comment, so sad about her passing. I had hoped she'd overcome her addiction :(
@newstart2009 It was,I was in working in Camden at the time and went to pay my respects ..her duet of the song Body and Soul with Tony Bennett will be on a special tribute album for his 85 birthday and will be out Sept 20th all the proceeds are going to chartlty. Thanks for this upload.
Amy also did {On Youtube} Lullaby of birdland -live.
@XforeverlongingX I love both versions, Sarah made Tenderly her trademark song until she did Send in the Clown, then finally So Many Stars... both are just wonderful
just for the record ...the ear thing is to hear your own pitch...its kinda like a check to see if your intune especialy if you cant hear yourself over the music....lol....good to know huh....=) try it you`ll understand.....
I wish I could have been at "La Bussola" that day of 1960. To have the privilege to listen to that special lady. I am italian and it is not common to have such great singers/artists in Italy.
the one and only master of voices, sorry for all the others... she was and is still the best ... thanks for your music, thanks for this gift to all of us through your long live.....
Why she was so up sad at the beguine of the concert??she said THEY CLOSE ?????????????IS RUDE!!I can't understand exactly what she said .Who cares?????She was wonderful, marvelous and remarkable singer .
also. some audiences dont scream or dont clap depending on the country u play. If u knew enuff to pay a ticket, dress and sit..then u best be quiet or jump, skat and ska do! rejolice before the queen
She was very up sad with the feed back microphone problem, even though have a problem her interpretation to this American standard Classic Tenderly was wonderful.
You know Heaven is sounding more beautiful with Ella there. I envy anyone who was able to see her singing in concernt. Thank you for posting these videos.
Feedback notwithstanding, the long, pregnant downbeat and the audience's "ah-ha!!" recognition still makes this performance of "Tenderly" something something lovely. And Ella's selling of the song- especially the long lilt at the end- are breathtaking.
So true...she is soooo missed. Wish i could turn back the clock and see more of her concerts. I was lucky enough to see her once in 1986, and met Keter Betts.
@Likeacommet I beleive she can't hear herself. Placing your hand next to your face or cupping your hand helps direct the sound to your ear. It's incredible how difficult it is to sing on stage when your monitor isn't working correctly! Luckily I married my sound man lol
@lmheneveld well sadly for Ella the soundman here was kind of off.... that feedback noise is terrible and the way Ella kept going is priceless... some artist would stop and say fix the sound.. I've seen that..
It also looks like she had a problem with feedback in her ear, at the beginning she says - "it rings". At one point we see her put her hand to her ear. You can even hear the feedback as the song is playing. Imagine having to sing with it sounding off in your ear. She handled it so professionally. The preformers we are offered today, really need to take a page from the book of a true singer.
Someone had mentioned why was she fidgeting and why the audience didn't clap after the first line...1.) She had severe stage fright 2) She is in Italy where the audience probably didn't recognize the song right away........
Wonderful!

I am a great Amy Winehouse fan and she did this live with Jools Holland in Nov 06{on my channel}.
I prefer Ellas to Sarah Vaughans or Rosemerry Clooneys versions-she had such a great tone to her voice-excellent.
