  • Wonder, how people are worried about shivites and vaishnavites that too on Bharatiyar songs.Concentrate on songs and just get immersed in its beauty.

  • Truly said, music takes you near to GOD easily than other hard penances. Keep on hearing fine songs like this and your heart is purified, God comes and resides in it.

  • I am blessed to hear such songs by a great singer like Nithyaji.

  • Good Evening Carnatic Musical Vocal Exponent, vidhushi sow.Nithyasree Mahadevan, thank you very much for our Legendary Poet Mahakavi Sri Subramaniya Bharathiyar Songs.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this carnatic piece?

  • Great one!!!!

  • good one

  • DO NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD!! BUT ITS SO GOOD I HAD TO SAMPLE IT ONTO MY NEW INSTRUMENTAL LMAO!!

  • Dear nityashree madam,

you are a boon to the carnatic world. keep it up and your service to the carnatic is very necessary. vazga valamudan

  • When DKP sang it as 30 kodi->40 kodi. When her grandaughter Nithayshree sings it goes all the way upto 100 kodi. India's population is growing uncontrolled :-)

  • Maybe you should just tell me instead of insulting me. "Do you even know??"---like everyone in the fukn world wears vibhuti or something.

  • Don't use the South Indian quote.

No North Indians are using North Indian term.

  • Nithyashree you are the best.... love all your songs

  • This might sound stupid but i'm really curious...

The violinist's last name is KRISHNAswamy, but the don't the white lines on his forehead mean that he's a Shiva devotee?

  • His surname wouldn't determine his sectarian affiliation.

  • Thanks!

  • originally perhaps, but I think the same thing happened with names like Taylor or Thatcher, that did describe the individual's profession (or sectarian affiliation, in this case), but no longer do today. I know this to be the case with (profession-related) european surnames because of guilds and their heredity. I'm assuming the same happened in India, mainly because of caste system (and its strict heredity)

  • God is one and takes differant forms to one's taste!

  • @FascistFashion Swamy may not be his surname. Anyway, close literal meanings of 'SWAMY' is chief (husband/ head of a family) , Godsman, saint.

  • @FascistFashion

Followers of AdiShankara (Called as Smartha brahmins) (Iyers in Tamil) follow Shiva, Vishnu, or any god. Nothing like they are shaivites or vaishnavites......Krishnaswamy is one among Smartha iyer.....also we celebrate Shiv Rathiri as well as go to temple for Vaikunda ekhadasi.....as simple as that

  • @FascistFashion

You are right - white horizontal lines indicate that a person is a Shivite. And Shiva devotees do have a lot of names that sound like Vishnavites...

  • @FascistFashion Hi, this may be late but Krishnaswamy doesnt determine his affliation as someone has said. People with names of Shiva are devotees of Vishnu and vice versa, and more importantly, a basic tenet of Hinduism is that Shiva and Vishnu are the same. So devotion to both is best. Besides, Krishnaswamy is a Shiva name, since it means Lord (Swami) of Krishna. Krishna is/was considered one of the foremost devotees of Shiva. Hope this clarifies your doubt :)

  • if she sings so easily at this pitch i wonder how high she can go!!1

  • If she'd only tone down the fireworks and pitch her voice lower she'd rise beyond mere playing to galleries and be a worthy granddaughter of pattamal.

  • I wish Nityasree was my music and tamil teacher when i was young.I was doing maths in my music class since he was boring and he used to yawn in the class and i use to count that as well.Excellent pronouncation, and very high pitch voice to go with.

  • Your voice is great and very very clear.

  • Nithishree's voice is excelant and supurb.voice is very clear and also words.

  • Dude you have to be careful when you are listening to this. It hypnotizes you.
