@BackBlocks09 the eurofighter uses the same aerodynamic configuration, which was prototyped in the BAe EAP. The X-31 pushed this capabilities further into the post-stall region. If you can read german, type " Aerodynamik des Eurofighter Typhoon " to google and hit the "i feel lucky" button
@BackBlocks09 it was ended successfully. But there's still no financing plan to incoorporate the gained knowledge into the eurofighter. The exchange ratio of the typhoon vs estimated and foreseen enemies seems high enough (so is the public debt xD) so they suspend the TVC upgrade for Tranche 3A, but will retrofit it sometime
Wow, what a comment! For the first part of it: Yes, it was a joint venture project.
And you did (for, let´s say, 99%) not "recruit" Nazi scientists and made them American. Most of them were forced to go- Smart enough to really go. Or would you say (to turn it around) that the US would have gotten that far in aviation (A-4 rockets, delta wings, supersonic aircraft and much more) without German "help"?
Thanks for the video, Jannej312. It´s wht I was looking for!
How could you even say this was created in a joint creation between the US and Germany no where at nasa or USAF is that specifically listed. Show me Proof!! Oh and half the time it is F-16's or f-18's often flown by German AirForce. Next are you going to say that was also a joint creation too? Yes we recruited ex Nazi scientists but we made them American!
Not all American industries are German based! We had a successful aircraft industry in place. Most Ally bombers were in fact American. Yes we did turn to Germany for our advancements in rocket technology but it was a race and everyone was in on it. You also have to remember Kelly Johnson wasn't a German and he was responsible for most of the US's best and most successful aircraft. That was a long time ago. I think Howard Hughes not the Air Force was the only American to own a German jet fighter.
Nothing, that's why it's called research and development! Besides was it really just Germany who invented the rocket? I say No! Confederate soldiers in the 1800's had envisioned one and nearly created it during the American Civil War! Myth-Busters proved that one when they launched a replica on tv. In reality revolutions in technology happen globally, usually in the same general time frame no matter "Ones" race or geological location.
no the rocket was aroud for along time way way back the contrys used it to shoot a rocket over a wall to cause a fire on the city. back in the 1800 too the mane use for rockets was to shoot a rope to a shinking boat.
the natizs used them a JET ENGIEN NOT A ROCKET ENGIEN. to me it doesnt matter who build thefrist whatever its who makes the best whatever
The v1 had a pulse jet however the v1 did have a rocket engine. Which yes I know Germany creates some quality products but so do several other countries:) My point was at least two people thought of the air-plane around the same time. And two separate people had had envisioned the jet engine to later be used to power almost everything that flies also around the same! The US and Russia used copied versions from Britain and didn't the ME-262 also use a turbine based off British blue prints?
First off nice try but most of us know the difference between a rocket and missile. That wasn't the point(a jet engine doesn't power a missile!) in fact a rocket engine is what propels a missile into the air! Just because a rocket has no internal guidance doesn't mean they don't share the same principals of propulsion! And if you hate America and Americans so much then shut down your American owned "Youtube" account! Ignorance is blindness! Without us your Nobody!
Bit of education for you Numbnut. 1st Mechanical Computer, 1st opeating system, 1st computer program + programmer, 1st holerith cards, 1st Electrnic Computer, 1st RAM based computers, 1st To packet switch + Network (same period as US's ARPANET), 1st HTML + World wide web. ALL BRITISH Given all this help a dick makes Google + thus owns UK mentally - GET A LIFE. And then we come to Aircraft and phew I can't be bothered educating a Hucklberry Fin. Get a REAL European education.
Actually, Joseph Henry and Samuel Morse invented the first crude form of the web and the language to be used on it....the Morse Code.....both Proud Americans.
I don't hate Americans at all, just history massagers who make Private Ryan with no allies (you were 3 yrs late for WW2 not us Brits) and Band of Brothers (No allies again).
Apparently you didn't notice or read the fact I gave the British credit for helping with the creation of the American and Soviet plus even German jet engines? Obviously I was pointing out the fact that the true genius behind German technology was British blue prints they had copied! I'm not going to argue about the war or American genius's! Aircraft? Hmm F-35?? Who is assembling what and where? And what about the Wright brothers? And where do people go to get a "NEW" life? UH...America aka USA
Wrights aircraft = none typical design never used again. Percy Pilcher built a layout years earlier that we use today.
With respect USA is where the world goes when they failed in life or are to coward to defend their homeland alongside their own blood (better off rid of them) - USA is the last chance motel.
Don't be offended as in the last 5yrs the UK government has started turning us into one as well.
USA + Britain share a desperate need to defend our cultures from inferior ones.
Try searching "First Flying Machine" on wiki! Percy wasn't the first there were at least 15 ahead of him! Some English, French, American, Polish, Norwegian, German and Swedish. Breakthroughs like I said can happen worldwide no matter ones race or gender! I guess the world can never change if people continue failing to see themselves as equals! Plus while we sit here worrying about ourselves and ignoring the real issues, things out there are only getting worse! Equality=Prosperity!
Actually, a rocket is a rocket.....a missile can be powered by any variation of jet engines or any variation of rockets. The V2 is a ballistic G2G missile that is powered by a rocket engine. Simple facts...like a square being a rectangle but a rectangle not being a square....
No actually the v1 is a pilot-less plane (robot bomb) and the v2 is a long range rocket that followed a natural ballistic trajectory (It couldn't be aimed or steered like a missile!) and only had a 50% success rate. The v1 had been given a radio control and been carried under bombers and steered to it's targets! The v2 however is the father to the ballistic missile! Both Russia and USA had began to develop and manufacture them during the cold war. We were lucky and even had Von Braun to help us!
And I should have also cleared up what I meant when I said missile way above. I meant inter-continental ballistic not cruise missile! A cruise missile is designed to deliver it's internal payload (warhead) from a low altitude and is basically a mini turbofan powered plane some even have rocket assemblies for launching from sea! The ballistic follows a trajectory and releases it's vehicles which can realign themselves and follow that trajectory to their individual targets! It uses rocket motors!

"We made them american"? How can you make knowledge, gained in Germany by Germans american?
Without German scientists, I guess the US Army would still fly propeller driven

LOL - You need to look up history outside the histor devoid.
Like Chinese Britain and indians for solid rockets used in battle and before you lot existed as the worlds braggers and idea stealers.
Also when reseraching, you need to drop the American as a V-2 is a ballistic missile - A Rocket is something different.
