All the old games were so awsome. The games to day are only good because of there grafic but the old games were funny and more realistic than the games today. The only game which is realistic AND has good grafic is battlefield 3
Tie Fighter is arguably -the best video game- made (for its time) to date. Depth, dark storyline, cinematics, 3d graphics technology. Ran on just about any PC at the time. Fantastic amount of content . You could ease through missions with backup and barebones objectives or go for the hard mode challenge of all the secret objectives. I have played a LOT of video games since the atari 2600 thru modern consoles Tie Fighter stands out in the top 10 of all time.

@valesti It has nothing to do with nostalgia. Krondor's plot is ok, its characters are ok, and its combat is dated and pretty clunky. And I played torment for the first time a couple of years ago. It has none of those problems.

@MKTHXXNICKXX DOOM was great, but not the first first person shooter. There were many many others before that. Even id Software (the creators of DOOM) had Wolfenstein 3D before DOOM. DOOM however was a breakthrough game that was an instant classic.

VGA games have a better Atmosphere then the newest HD Game. Compare Blade Runner ( the game ) with a game from Today. When u buy a new game ( 50€ ), u´ve to wait for the first patch. without that patch, u´ll be able to walk trough walls etc. THE QUALITY is SO LOW these days !! but the price HIGH!.... Where are all the Good Studios?.. INFOGRAMES? Microprose? ... just the SHIT survives (= UBISOFT...., UBISOFt..... and ubisoft! )
I had a nasty bug with my mech warrior2:merceneries... Every time I did repairs after a mission my mech would for some reason be 1 ton heavier. I'd end up having to remove weapons just to be able to be within the max weight to leave the repair shop.
Tech support never heard of the bug and I never found out why, but after about 15-20 missions the game would become unplayable.
But I back you up with your comment, It is the best of the Mechwarrior titles.

Attention to all the younger generation DO NOT KEEP BRINING UP YOUR AGE ITS IRRELEVANT I was not born in 18th century England I can still enjoy classical literature from Charles Dickens, paintings from Da vinci, music from Beethoven, flms from the early 90's whatever. Each generation has art in it and invents new forms some thing's are just timeless age does not mean shit in appreciation.

@Devofone Totally agree! I'm in my early 20s only recently discovered a load of old classic games such as UFO defense, old graphics but the gameplay and storyline is second to none, craps on the new stuff coming out.

Youtube often "cuts people off", so I would not assume he was proposing all the individuals he credited with virtuous contributions to literature and the arts were alive in the same span of time. That said, he was making a point that time is irrelevant, and in your argument, you miss his good points to argue about temporal coordinates... Irrelevant.

For Krondor... my soundcard was so much better; it was the full sound of the game, not some half-rendered version of it. Still, this brings back memories...

VGA games have a better Atmosphere then the newest HD Game. Compare Blade Runner ( the game ) with a game from Today. When u buy a new game ( 50€ ), u´ve to wait for the first patch. without that patch, u´ll be able to walk trough walls etc. THE QUALITY is SO LOW these days !! but the price HIGH!.... Where are all the Good Studios?.. INFOGRAMES? Microprose? ... just the SHIT survives (= UBISOFT...., UBISOFt..... and ubisoft! )

I had a nasty bug with my mech warrior2:merceneries... Every time I did repairs after a mission my mech would for some reason be 1 ton heavier. I'd end up having to remove weapons just to be able to be within the max weight to leave the repair shop.
Tech support never heard of the bug and I never found out why, but after about 15-20 missions the game would become unplayable.
But I back you up with your comment, It is the best of the Mechwarrior titles.
