cont final.atheism and theism have to do with belief while agnosticism and gnosticism have to do with knowledge.if agnosticism by your definition is something in between atheism and theism,where would you place gnosticism? logically it would have to be on either end.but if you can be a gnostic atheist, y cant you be an agnostic atheist?one who is not sure whether god exists but is inclined NOT to believe he does.your def of agnostic is STILL an atheist!but my def is neither atheist nor theist.
cont... answer me this. can u hold a position where you think god is "unknowable" but you still believe that he exists yet you dont know for sure? ofcourse you can, you would be an agnostic theist. now how bout u think god is unknowable but you dont believe he exists yet u dont know for sure? ofcourse u can. you would be an agnostic atheist. but youre still an atheist cuz u dont hold theist beliefs. u lack them for whatever reason. thats because knowledge and belief r2 diff things. cont.
now to respond to the semantics. the prefix is negating theism in atheism. is simply that. it is no different than agnosticism. its negating gnosticism. a-theism is negating theism. you simply failed to show a difference. and even IF i was to grant your argument valid, you must remember that the english language is vastly inconsistent with its own rules. ex feet that smell and noses that run... lol im sure u can think of many more. try to define atheism using common sense CONT.
ok first of all, you brought up semantics, second, my initial point was that you cant choose or reject jesus since he is not plainly evident. in terms of choosing or rejecting to have a relationship with him. not; choosing or rejecting to Believe in him. and he is not plainly evident to many many ppl. so how can god expect a relationship with mankind if he himself is not evident to mankind what so ever?
