  • @mattilyons Exactly!

  • @SuperSliq Thank you!

  • Everyone I respect your opinions about music but trust todays music is garbage. It is all about sex, money, bling and drugs. I just find it sad now that music became. The era's of 50-90s were best. Only a few good musicians producing good music. Not all of them! Peace everyone!

  • @19GirlBad right on, right on!

  • @19GirlBad ya, they never used to talk about sex & drugs back then!!! lmaooooo that was good

  • @19GirlBad So the music spanning 50 years was the best. Very specific, thanks.

  • @19GirlBad Barrett Strong - Money,The Contours - First I look at the purse,Marvin Gaye - Sexual healing,Eric Clapton - Cocaine, Muddy Waters - Champagne & Reefer,Bob Dylan - Every body must get stoned, etc.etc! ;)

  • @tamla63 Tee hee. I wanted to list a similar bunch of songs. I'm not a big fan of today's music either, but let's be fair...

  • I totally agree with the modern music comment, except that rap has its merits. It has simply been too twisted and vulgar, I heard it used be be more on the poetic side.

  • guys. its not about if its garbage or not. we just look back on it in the future and finally accept it as "good".

  • Once upon a time . . . this was the "modern music" that the "musicologists" looked down on and made fun of . . .

Today's "crap" is the future's "retro classic"

I thought Duran Duran and all that 80's stuff that people nowadays are raving about was the biggest pile of crap EVER (still do) . . . but "there's no accounting for taste" . . as they say.

(no, i never did find out who "they" are . . . but "they" get quoted all the time so some of what "they" say must make sense)

  • @joeyraccoon Ummm....NO! Today's music is in fact garbage.

  • A UH-1 Huey brought me here :D

  • The Might of Motown..Bring it on yeh xxx

  • legendary

  • GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING VI-ET-NAAAAAAAMM

  • MOTOWN-THE GREATEST RECORD LABEL IN THE WORLD XXXX

  • I wonder if the pilots were playing this in their MH60's when going to kill Osama Bin Laden lol. I hope they were jammin out to this!!!

  • Since it appears to me we are talking about different eras of music, how about the gruunge music of the 1990's. I am glad that grunge music back from the early 1990's died out very quickly. It honestly couldn't get much worse. By the mid to late 90's my best recollection was that the grunge scene had pretty much gone away.

  • @MrShanomeara Well, I've loved Motown since I first heard it as a kid, before grunge even started; I still love Motown, and I ALSO love Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Hole... great music is great music, I don't have to limit myself to one genre.

  • The Warriors.

  • goooooooooooooooddd morrrrrninnnng Vietnam

  • i'll play this on my ipod if im ever getting chased by rivals gangs through NYC!

  • The music industry has gone from horrible to boring in the last ten years. I've listened to all types of genres and styles of music in the past 50 years.I've worked in the broadcast industry as aprogram director and DJ. Why are you getting so political. Let's have it your way I can't wait for 50 cent to have a son named kwata and have him recite the dictionary backwords to the melody of Michael Jackson's ballad You Give Me Butterflies.By the way does your former high school have a music program?

  • Rap is just an accident that won't go away. Some guy just figured to talk over music and I'm tired. So another accident occurred called American Idol and that won't go away. I'm getting more tired.

  • @robphilll22 Get out of here man, Id put money on the fact that you know nothing of the genre and couldnt name me any important figures, events or movements.

  • Recipe of a youtube debate:

Take 1 video. This can be of anything, from an old song to Chris-chan scratching his behind.

    Talk about the video.

    Start talking about each other.

Start talking about each others' mothers.

Start talking about each others' sexual preferences.

Start talking about each others' mothers' sexual preferences.

    Bring on the kangaroos.

Start talking about child molesters, bestialists and other perverts.

Garnish with a healthy dose of self-hatred dressed up as personal attacks.

  • @anonUK - LET'S NOT FORGET:

ATTACKING THE OTHER PERSON FOR THEIR FAITH OR LACK OF IT.

OR EGGING ON SAID DEBATE BY STICKING ONE'S THIRD PARTY NOSE IN IT, WITH A DOSE OF DIME STORE PSYCHOLOGY MIXED IN JUST FOR GOOD MEASURE.

  • @jehovahuponyou hahah nice.

  • @DoctorSess

    :^)

  • @anonUK fucking laughed

  • Don't make them like this anymore.

Proper songs, not like todays regurgitated garbage and rap music.

  • @galenkia I totally agree with you on this, fuck rap who can you even get into it.all they do is talk with shit in there mouth and that's all it is. I even like doom metal and i get into it alot but i'm also a 60's 70's music and that blows rap jap crap music.

  • @galenkia I hate when people refer to modern music as garbage...a lot of people considered these songs 'garbage' when they came out.....Rap has it's merits, just like any genre. Expression is expression and authentic expression should never, ever be devalued.

  • @malenkytoys well said

  • @malenkytoys dude pop sucks ass any time

  • @malenkytoys I agree, but does pop music nowadays have much authentic expression?

  • @malenkytoys Yes, but with the benefit of hindsight we can look back and conclude retrospectively that 'these songs' were manifestly NOT 'garbage.' Are you really suggesting that, in forty or fifty years' time, rap or hip hop will be regarded with such high esteem as Martha and the Vandellas, or Motown in general for that matter?

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob

Good ass question, I highly doubt it.

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob Yes. Certain songs, certainly. You should diversify your listening stream. (Just gentle advice.)

  • @malenkytoys fail.

  • @malenkytoys THANK YOU! It's so annoying when people act as if they're superior because of their taste in music.

  • @malenkytoys Scribbling on bathroom walls is authentic expression, also.

  • @malenkytoys No, today's music does really suck. It is what it is.

  • @malenkytoys Modern music is garbage, stop taking rubbish!

  • @CROMPTON761 if all we listened to on the radio was oldies and classic R&B i guarantee we would all get tired of it. So appreciate that there is diversity of music and that it has evolved. you may not like todays music like your parents may not have liked your generation's choice of music when you were younger. its a part of a perpetuating cycle like our society, way of life, etc. these songs reflected on what was going on in that time period; todays songs reflect & relate to situations today.

  • @malenkytoys i completely agree. i think music is special to people. it is part of the foundation that defines our culture and who we are as individuals. but everyone has their own tastes. its art in every which way. i may not like different genres or artists, but i wont go as far as to bash them and compare it to what i think is good music.

  • @malenkytoys garbage in the sense it's all about sales, no thought for longevity, and really disco-esque dependance autotune. I agree with your comment, however most of its way too over commercialized--of course there are thousands who are not.
