I am thinking about getting a rc-20xl or rc-2 or maybeee the jm4.. but i feel like the jm4 is too much for someone who's never had a loop effect before?
thanks in advance! been watching all your video demos!
@orangejulius072 hey man, i have been very happy with the boss loop station - as far as recording, all of the videos on here were just shot using either a regular point and shoot digital camera or an iphone - and i just have everything plugged into my PA system, coming out of a speaker, and being recorded by the video camera. not ideal, i know, but i think it sounds OK and has kept the process very simple.
Jason: This is really a great cover version of this song, thanks for posting it. Excellent arrangement, vocals, solo. And a great use of the RC-20XL - you inspired me to go out and buy one!
@lfcman09 the 2 pedal RC20XL i have is usually just under $300 and the single pedal RC2 is closer to $200... i think you can get them at most music stores or the usual online spots like amazon, musicians friend, sweetwater, etc... i haven't had a chance to mess with the RC2, but i have seen some demo videos and it looks SWEET. the RC20 is great and easy to use after getting it down.
@lfcman09 i agree. all of these videos were done in one take and i sometimes struggle with 'perfection paralysis', so i just decided to let them fly. thanks for your comment.
@Rob919Gore thanks man. yeah, i have the RC-20 at the end of my signal chain, so it loops whatever tone i play into it. I believe on this one i looped it with delay on it.
@Rob919Gore i'm just tapping the face of my guitar. i have an i-beam pickup in it and i noticed, even before getting the RC-20, that it made the instrument extremely 'live'. i think it's because the pick-up mounts to the underside of the face/top of the guitar rather than under the bridge or in the sound hole like most acoustic pick-ups i have tried. it was a bonus when i got the loop pedal and discovered it would pick up tapping and slapping nicely.
@Rob919Gore oh, hey, just saw this follow up Rob. the stomp box is a Boss DD3 digital delay - i'm playing through a pedal board that used to be just part of my electric guitar rig but started running my acoustic through it a few years ago and thought that a lot of the tones translated well. so i put the loop pedal at the end of the chain and said 'why not?' lol.
man, you nailed it. Who needs a band huh. thanks for posting your stuff. you got a new fan here. All the best to you and I look forward to seeing and hearing more.
