  • Gostei muito de jogo!roda legal!

  • what is the song that they sing in the roda?

  • @apewings I appreciate responses to posts I did light years ago. I guess that means I made a striking point. I have no gripe against your way of expressing yourself. No matter how you put it, capoeira was born out of the need to defend oneself. Nowadays, very few capoeiristas can even pretend to be capable of doing so. I have nothing on them either. We all go to the same rodas, and do the same shows.. Peace, procure ginga sempre, and see you all in Brazil one day.

  • in my school in New Zealand (Au Capoeira) we call this type of game benguela, I think that's how it's spelt.

  • capoeira is everything that the mouth eat's i don't think you can criticise a capoeirista for him, being him..

  • eddie gordo in the white!

  • isn't it sao bento grande or pequeno de angola?

  • Mestre Poncianinho's capoeira is very inspirational. His play flows naturally.

  • PANA-NAWAY - PANA-NAWAY PANA-NA! wheres marc dacascos?

  • one of the best exhibitions i ever seen!!

  • Que jogo bonito, valeu capoeira

  • b-e-a-utiful

    Axe!!!

  • Is Capoeira useful in a real fight?

  • @texazraized713 it actually is. when used properly at full speed with that fluidity of movement it can be very effective in a fight. of course not having to stick with just one style capoeira trains you how to move in unusual ways... ways you wouldn't come across in an everyday fight, therefore most people wont know how to deal with it. I had a friend who was a practitioner of capoeira and taekwondo and i had a contact fight with him using tai boxing and judo, needless to say it was different

  • Damn, I've never seen so fluent and fast moves in Capoeira angola, masterpiece!

  • Brasil Porra .

  • it most certainly resembles a faster game of ngolo

  • CRAP..... What a pile of shit.... They are just falling over each other...

  • @DHardaker21 lol, i know! this is retarded!

  • @DHardaker21 That's your opinion, and in my opinion, that's ignorant.

  • @DHardaker21 learn how to respect other peoples way of playing everyone is different, no need for swearing

  • @DHardaker21 aww, please dont swear and showing how ignorant u are. maybe in 5 years, u'll grasp the essence and the beauty of this jogo. :)

  • esta genial sobre todo el mestre poncianinho XD

  • this is great. I wanna learn how to do this.

  • beautiful!

  • This was originally made by slaves. This is a deadly martial arts that was used to protect themselves. After the "Owner" found out. So, they wisely tell them it's a type of dance, and so they performed for them, or else they would have all died. Pretty clever huh?

  • i love capoeira and this video is great =D

    and 1:27 awesome =D

  • what do you mean by 'get'? do u mean how do i get a CD of capoeira music or how do we learn songs or how do we understand songs in a live environment? pls clarify.

  • Thanks!

  • What is the song called in the start of the video?

  • Brincadeira Tem Hora from the CD Master Acordeon, Master Ra e Alunos. I have put the info in the info box.

  • HE'S BACK!

  • haha , I see you used the start you made.

    I really like it .

    Lindao , CDO Hollanda

  • Nice! Refreshing to see some creativity in the Roda. Uncommon these days.

  • would that be Mestre Sorriso singing ??

  • indeed/ well spotted. mestre sorriso of senzala, our special guest. and what a soing eh! i'll put it in the info

  • I used to like mestre Poncianinho.. but all this jumping around bothers my capoeira regional mindset. This doesn't even look like angola...

  • correct. it is neither regional nor angola. well done

  • Why do you think it is not angola?

It is angola in my opinion.

Just not as slow as usually.

  • @capoeirascience it CDO!!!

  • @capoeirascience is that miudinho or am i wrong???

  • @ramstapar i dont think it's miudiho. it's just jogo de capoeira. miudinho is more about training system than a capoeira style.

  • @ramstapar I'm in Cordao De Ouro Bay Area, Oakland California and from what I saw it was a mixture of miudinho and contemporary jogo..very agile and yet connected ya know? I loved it!

  • @fakadaldel Eu acho que a capoeira se pode jogar de muitas maneiras, não é só de un jeito como um robot

  • @fakadaldel it is not capoeira regional or angola. it is just capoeira

  • @morto00x there's no such thing as just capoeira. If you're referring to primitive capoeira that was practiced by the slaves in brazil, the closest style is angola. I doubt that many people still practice the original pre-angola capoeira.

  • @fakadaldel really? there's no regional style before mest bimba's era, there's no angola style before mest pastinha's era. it's just capoeira.

AFAIK, there're no flipping nor acrobatics in mest bimba's regional or mest pastinha's angola, but nowadays, even mestres from both styles do it. there's no need to limit capoeira only to regional or angola, capoeira evolves.

IMO, as long as it's not immobilize your partner as in bjj (which is against the principle of capoeira), then it IS capoeira.

  • @sabiorae I think that if you lose the martial arts element of capoeira, it will just end up like maculele -which used to be a martial art but was turned into a folkloric dance after the fighting part was lost. Evolution is built on top of foundations. if a pillar crumbles, the evolution becomes regression. You can do all the hand gestures you want instead of holding your gard up, but eventually you'll find yourself doing contemporary dancing instead of capoeira (IMHO).

  • Really cool! Wish there was a school closer to me so i could actually play

  • so glad you're back!!!! good start to 2010! obrigada....

  • hehe. im back ;)

  • Quality capoeira, leaves you wit a smile on your face...what were the end moves about, these littles jumps?

  • Thanks mate. The little jumps are called 'sapinho' it means little frog, its something that you can do in a capoeira game to bring your adversary in.. and then boom! bencao

  • @papagaiocapu its funny that you mentioned the jumps, because I did too. And my capoeira name is also papagaio. :D

  • oo Jogo Bonito
