Had UC in 1989 and had to have surgery almost immediately after a couple yars thing settled down and it's been 20 years it's been good with some changes but not much
actually, i had such a flare up of UC that the medication didnt work and my bowel was days away from perferation. I had to have my colon removed, and it has drastically improved my life for the better. anyone with any questions about the surgery, feel free to contact me x
The Hippocratic Oath, "First Do No Harm," means that the least destructive solutions should be examined before all others. really think about this? I can tell you so many people have beat IBD's without surgery or drugs, do not let yourself think you can not be one of these people. @jaybaluk kudos to you :) i'm living healthy with ulcerative colitis by just changing my diet...but a few days ago i ate wheat bread and now i feel as if my tummy is being pulled out T_T

Well said, jaybaluk. The best long term treatment is chelation, specifically chelation for heavy metal poisoning.
