Aspera hiems symfonia is one of the best metal albums ever, together with Ulver's Bergtatt. Yes, they have the same singer, early on. Garm was good, he just spoiled it with "real singing." That is, popular singing. Hellhammer isn't much acknowledged in Arcturus because you don't notice a perfect drummer unless he does blastbeat all the time, and drum solos. Jan-Erik is still one of the carrying forces in Arcturus, without him, you might aswell do Mysticum (the kicked him out, machine's better).

this particular band shows just how the music can be bent and contorted into something so epic and beautiful yet bleak and frost-bitten at the same time, good stuff, very good, this is the music i want to play, i can sing and drum but im going to learn to play guitar, if anyone has some pointers on either instrument or vocal tips it would help out alot

This is by far my favorite Arcturus album...the guitars and the vocals are great, and the song "Fall of Man" just totally rocks my socks :D And the keyboards are simply STELLAR lol
