  • Oh yeah @RVittorini ... I can vault 23 feet with a 13 foot pole. That's just my warm up my big pole is a 21 foot 290 lb. Carbon and I got a new pr on it the other day of 33 feet. My first meet hasn't gotten here yet though that's why the record is still 20'2". See this is my first year so know one really knows me but they will

  • yeah i can pole vault 19 feet. oh yeah, sergei bubkas my dad btw.

  • Im 16 and i can clear 18 feet

  • I can pole vault 23 feet with a 50 pound weighted vest while im on fire. oh yeah im 13 btw

  • I love pole vault, In my sports-carrer i actully do 2.000m and longer distances, but before those long race competions i always take a pole vault jumps, im not so good, i do never train it, but now my Personal best is 2.96, and that is when i never train it, I train for long races, but i love this sport, it is so fun when you jump over the high! :D

  • beautiful.

  • I always watch these vids before my meets

  • Falling on the mats is always fun. No matter from which height.

  • How tall are most of these vaulters?

  • can somebody comment on my vaults?

  • How long are these poles? What's the weight on them too?

  • I want to pole vault so bad. They honestly CUT the track and field program at my school, so I have to wait till summer camp. 

  • lmao who the hell thought up this sport. crazy bastards

  • @RichCwm lolz. Pole vault is definitely insane and graceful at the same time. When falling from 18 feet high is a daily routine, thats crazy. But when you have the softest bed in the world (the pole vault foam bed) which is specially made for you to fall back on and make your 18 feet landing felt like nothing, it doesn't get any more gracious than this.

  • @PRinthePV I know but it's my first year

  • my highest is 3m 45cm and im 13

  • @mazdaman1957 first of all where are you from and secondly how tall are you?

  • @AshleygodHarvey about 5 foot 3 from wigan

  • @AshleygodHarvey about 5 foot 3 from wigan

  • @mazdaman1957 is your name harry coppell by any chance? :L

  • heh...i would definitely wear a helmet pole vaulting.

i mean i guess not at first, since u dont' vault high enuff to cos injuries...but anything over 9 feet..heck yeah.

  • my highest is 2.00 m and i'm 14

  • you guys are trying to brag but i cleared a 20'

  • @bananazFIRE you cleared 6m 10cm ?? :P

  • @bananazFIRE . you cleared 6m 10cm ?? somehow i dont think so

  • @ManoloRC12 that sucks

  • @ManoloRC12 no offence but that is pretty poor

  • TheSpencer77 agreed. by the way i liked your pole vault video about pole vault. it was the world record vault by Sergi Bubka wasn't it? we have a russian kid who vaults and we always tell the competition from other teams he's Sergi's son haha

  • my gym teacher got 12 feet in front of me from like my 5 step..... but he just guessed on his steps and still did it with ease. that was his first time vaulting in 4 years

  • the most i clear is 8

  • My highest is 2.80m and I'm

    14 :D !!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • My highest height is 1 meter and 10 centimeters, and im 13. :D

  • @anyone who says what height they have gotten) i guarntee all of you will never get this nor i so really i dont care what you got but pointers and other stuff would be great

  • why he take 9 steps instead of 6 or sumthn

  • @zay9000 more speed

  • @zay9000 obviously you can get more speed if you have more time to build it up, so why not?

  • wheres the view all comments button?

  • I was pole vaulting in the rain and slipped and hit head first off the pavement real hard I probably hav a concusion

  • I see your talking about poles snapping. I did it today, no joke. I emailed pics to UCS not sure why but i did. I never ever thought it'd happen to me.

  • wow its just amazing to watch

  • Great Gibilisco!!

  • i wanna try this .... ive done track in middle school but we didnt have pole vault . now im a sophomore and track started a ffew days ago ... im ready !

  • my best is 10ft this is my second year i wanna get 11ft at end of season

  • I wanna know where pole vaulting originated from...

  • Northern Europe, denmark, netherlands.

  • Cool, thanks.

  • that amazing

  • Vaulting Rules I hate how the schools maky you wait till spring to vault again (unless you go to a camp or hav a pole) Its pur tortuure I tell ya. My PR is 7.5ft (I'm a girl and thats after my first season) I'm aiming for at least 10ft this year preferidably higher. (cant wait! Fun fun fun! XP)

  • @Nyrahd wow, your best was 7.5? And you think you're gonna get 10?! I laugh at you.

  • @simonsays4795... wow. your a fucking ass, i know a person who left high school jumping 11ft. in college. he jumped 19ft. Nyrahd will most likley get his goal if he trains hard enough. so next time dont be so ignorant

  • lol only way ur going to get 10ft is if u get a longer, heavier pole, run faster, and bend it harder

  • Wow good pole vaulting!

  • I love all you athletes out there who play with your heart and soul.

  • i didnt know carbon fiber bent like that. it would really suck if one snapped

  • haha thats cause its fiberglass, and yes it does suck, if you get the shards in you they have to be surgically cut out

  • yeah they have poles made from carbon now... their bad ass too, and so much lighter then fiberglass.

  • oh trust me one snapped on my friend... twice.

  • im going to a camp where a bronze medlist is the coach i was chosen by my coach outa 6 people in my grade im a freshman too

  • wut the fuck r those poles made of

  • @lukassnakeman MA DICK

  • i bet you'll figure out wut they're made of after i shove one up yo damn ass

  • that explains the flexibility

  • Grande gara! Stevenson prima mi stava antipatico, ma ora invece è il contrario. Il favorito era lui visto che aveva saltato i 6 m, ma si dovette "accontentare" dell' argento.

  • I love Toby Stevenson :)

  • wow a 13 foot vaulter! that doesnt get u to states in pa if your in a good district. sorry cvfvault thats just not that good

  • my friend is the gold medalist in 2004 pv nephew

  • im freshmen jumped 13' gotta junior jumpin 15

  • Yeah but what grade did you get in english class?

  • probably a b hahahaha

  • there's 4 ppl on my team who have cleared 13'

we dont care to hear your bragging

  • woah sorry your so sensitive it was just a youtube comment

no im a freshman of course im not at 13' yet

we actually had a guy go 14'9" last week

but yea sorry im not as good as you

just cuz everyone else says their best doesnt mean you have to

  • You'll find that a lot of people just simply don't care how high you go. We clicked on this video to watch 19' vaulters not read about every high school kids PR. Comment about the video you're actually watching. Put up a video of you vaulting and somebody might tell you good job, give you pointers, ect if they run across it.

  • exactly

    thank you

  • @TheSpencer77 agreed. by the way i liked your pole vault video about pole vault. it was the world record vault by Sergi Bubka wasn't it? we have a russian kid who vaults and we always tell the competition from other teams he's Sergi's son haha

  • @TheSpencer77 Let them have their moment.

  • i am 11 and i hav pole volted 21 feet. I am using a burch tree from the back yard and next week i am going to use a mapel. My dad is an astronaut and my mom drinks wine from a box.

  • damn im jealous, i've only got an apple tree, going 19 feet.

  • I am gonna try a redwood tree,

My best friend's brother's girlfriend, knows this guy, who knows this kid, who's going with the girl who saw a guy from scotland vault 60 feet using one

    so

    you know

  • damn, good luck. i broke both my pinky toes trying to get over a branch while a squirrel leaped from its well hidden position and scratched my face. I landed on my ears, breaking knee.

  • That is some wicked bad luck. Try squirrel-be-gone, you can get it over the counter. They're a stealthy bunch.

  • hahaha.

  • @decadoc wtf

  • @decadoc okay the only part about that story i believe is that your 11. thats only because you spelled vault wrong.

  • @decadoc babahahaha wtf@!

  • my school hasn't offered polevault in the last six years but opened it up this year... three months and i can clear 11'

my pr in a meet is 10'6" though

at districts there were 4 guys that jumped 13'6"

    :(

  • same year im one for my schools first 2 polevualters and we dont ave a solid coach i just got r school record at 9 and almost go 10 im working on it haha

  • Sophmore(15) turnin 16 in Sept. So far i'm clearin 12'6 ft. Right now im takin 3rd in my district. sum people always wanna no height but i thnk its ability & hardwork. im 5'11

  • freshman... only been vaulting for a week and a half and have cleared 8ft so far..

  • yeah not that great i know people who gotten 8ft on their first try, i know a freshman who's 5'4 and can get 9 except the guy is pure muscle and freaking fast he gets like 1st in sprints in like every track meet he stopped doing pole vault though

  • that looks so fun!

    but scary. lol.

  • its my first year and i have made 8'6'' but i cant seem to get higher

  • Junior this year i've got 12'6"

  • im a vaulter as well. made 9' freshman year( high school, btw), 11' last year as a sophmore ( did it backwards straight vault, no bend), and now i'm working for 11'6", because i took some time off

  • as a pole vaulter it aggrivates me to see people beat me when they vault backwards. lol. kinda funny but yea just keep workin at it. if u can vault 11' backwards, then u can do anything.

  • me-8th grade-7 feet

  • i completely understand, this guy on my team, worst form, looks like a seizuring monkey, but he can clear 12', im at 11' haha hopefully gonna pass him this upcoming season

  • im a junior in high school.. my sohpomore year i made 10'6 but i'm sucking this year i've only made 9... but i've had a bunch of injuries so whatever

  • i made 14' in high school but decided not to do track in college

  • whys that?

  • because im playing football instead

  • this is my first year vaultimg i cleared 8 already but im tryna get up yo 10

  • im too heavy...dang it

  • we got a meet next friday..dude i cant wait..this is my second year to fault..my first year was 2 years ago. and im gettin 10 foot

  • this is my second year to vault as well and im loving it! and im getting 11' 6"

  • dang thats pretty good

  • thx man, but i also have the best coach in texas for pole vaulting or something like that i cant remember he has some award that said that..

  • thats cool..this guy i go and see was in the olympics i think for pole vaultin and he has medals to..his name is morry sanders ..he teaches in black springs arkansas

  • lucky, my highschool is too broke to get a pole vault coach, ive been on my own for 3 years learning shit form i cant seem to break. oh well, 11ft freshman year isnt too bad

  • damn. this is my first year too. im only gettin 9' 6" but getting higher every week =]

  • im a discus thrower =)

  • I'm a sprinter :D

  • haha thats cool

  • I'm a football player o.0

  • ugh. i wish we were allowed 2 do this on modified at my school but we cant damnit cant wait till next year 9th grade cant wait

  • Im so excited , 8th grade year , and im starting my first attempt in Pole Vaulting. Wish i could be as good as this guy xD

  • dude im a soph nd im tryin it for the first time, im like nervous though lol

  • I was at a meet at the Manchester Indoor Arena yesterday, and I won my 200m in 26.68! :D But anyway in the Pole Vault this guy called Lewis Summit cleared 5.60! He was amazing! A Talent for Team GB in the near future Hopefully! Go GB!

  • i imagine that was steve lewis, as there is no 'steve summit' on the UK rankings hehe...

YEAH HE'S AWESOME HE'S GONNA GET THE BRITISH RECORD!

  • im a freshman, been polevaulting 5 days. i can clear 8 consecutively now

  • i just started pole-vaulting three days ago and i have had 3 attempts...i have cleared 9 ft :) it was such a rush!

  • Damn! White boys CAN jump!

  • you know

  • how are there so many 8th graders that pole vault? my middle school didnt even have pole vaulting..i started freshman year and only cleared 8'..but im a girl so i guess its not that bad...ok yeah it is haha

  • yeh we can't start til 9th grade (varsity). thats when i started, you did very good for a first year i must say.

  • Toby is really a high strung guy. In person he is very nice and not cocky. I met him at the pole vault summit in Jan. Every sport has to have a showman. He is the one for pole vault. I have met all the elite vaulters and all of them are great people. Please do not judge people until you know or meet them.

  • Have you met tommy skipper? He went to my high school ^_^ My sister knew him and had classes with him. Isn't that crazy lol?

  • ya I agree I hate how people come on here to brag, Summer is about to end and im going into my junior year. I've cleared 10 feet as a peak height in a meet. Sure it's not that good but at least im not getting on here and saying im some 7th grader who cleared like 16 feet or something...

  • your gay

  • wtf?

  • its true you are

  • yea i hate the way stevenson acts which is like a fag but he is a good vaulter i have to give him that

  • Yeah, that's true, he is a great vaulter. He was the only one in the competition getting on poles that big.

  • my coach beat tim mack in collage

  • I love how everybody just comes on here to brag and probably lie a lot of the time about how high they can vault.

But Toby Stevenson really doesnt have much class, every time he cleares a height it's the first time he's ever cleared anything and when he lost he didnt have to freak. Timothy Mack on the other hand is just a classy STUD he rocks.

  • much much agreed.

  • i looked at the junior high state websites and 8th grade is nowere near as high as what these kids r saying

  • Pole Vault= best sports ever made

  • isn't it more like an event?

  • hah i can't even do the one where you don't use the stick

  • yatusabes, you sound like a douchebag

  • Your probably an eigth grader.

  • so are u boi

  • Yea me too my highest is 9"9'

  • I feel a little silly that I can only get 10'

  • ha yeah im at the same level almost up to 10'6", i feel the same way

  • geezes i feel like a bitch my best is 13.6 feet

  • Did that first guy flick everyone off when he landed?!?!?

  • Bcoz they know they cleared the bar and what's next is a nice and comfortable landing on the super soft foam beds!

  • ehhh.... hes in 8th grade and its over the internet, how believable is that???

  • I think its really funny how cooleymanfan lies probablly for the same reason Durandal24 was talking about. But everybody with half a brain here should know that no one will complement an absolute liar. I mean really why lie? Just vault the best to your ability.

  • i have a hard time believing that some 8th grader can vault 12. plus there is no 12'1" heighth you idiot. its my first year all i can get is 9'6". i agree with Durandal24.

  • lol your the idiot. Once u get so high u can decide how far u wnt them to move it up

  • I'm not a junior, but it is my first year vaulting and I just cleared 11' 6" (3.50m) on Tuesday. I definitely agree though, I don't think I have ever met any eighth graders who could jump 12'! But let's not argue, remember this is the internet. Happy vaulting everyone

  • wow what a beast

  • Well i'm in eighth grade and have been vaulting for three years

My dad is the head coach and pole vault coach at the high school I train at. I have only jumped 9ft 6in but my dad says i have at least an extra foot and a half if I really row through hard.

  • Well i think all you eighth graders need to get a life shut up and stop lying cuz you def cant pole vault that well in junior high

    I agree with Beaumont23475,

you need to work on your spelling and grammar skills. You eighth graders think you know every thing go actually learn how to pole vault I hold my schools record with a jump of 17.0 and Im a Junior what now eighth grader

  • actually you didn't jump 17 as a junior... only one did and that was Jack Whitt and your not him...

  • im in first grade and i cleared 8 ft so ha kerdut123

  • well see, im a sophmore girl and i started pole vaulting 3 weeks ago and i cleared nine in my first meet, that tells something.

  • I love how people lie about how much they vault in the hopes that some other person on the internet will compliment them. Between this video and a number of others, I've seen dozens of people who claimed to have gotten over twelve feet their first time vaulting. This is not an easy sport. It takes hard work and generally a lot of time. Most people require a full season just to get over nine feet.

  • I agree with you. I vaulted 9' after 3 months and I was told to me more than happy with that height in such a short time.

Pole vaulting is nothing like say, sprinting. Not to say that Sprinters don't have to work for many years to get to the Olympics. Pole vaulters careers are generally longer. For example: Sergei Bubka was 31 when he set the last PV WR. Asfa Powel is 26 and holds the 100m record.

Anyway, I totally agree with you. Long story short.

  • ya i agree i run the 800 1600 and the 3200 and we where at a meat 3 weeks ago and this kid that vaults did not show so tha cotch asked me my weight. I was 135 and they had a 140 so i vauled that day and got 7ft then one day of practice then a meat the next day i got 8'6 and just last sat. i got 9 it took two weeks to move from 8'6 to 9 but its not as eazy but i have 2 more years and this one to progress.

  • polevaulting takes so much technique and more speed than you would think....im in 8th grade and have been doing it for 2 years and i have got 9' 3''

  • Your coach is going to get you killed.

  • 8'9" First meet first week. No coach until first meet. Soared over 8'9" but couldn't replicate jump again at 9'3".

  • not bad though i did win my first meet at 10' 6'' 2 weeks after i first touched a pole

  • not bad though i did won my first meet at 10' 6'' 2 weeks after i first touched a pole

  • crazy my friend did the same thing their 1st meet lol

  • I believe I have a natural talent for pole vaulting. This is my first year of track and my 3rd week of pole vaulting and I can already make 7 feet.
