ahh awesome =) although oyu can fight with the originals, the remakes are just way too EPIK! ^_^_^ absolutely love it! and the fact that you catch johto pokemon makes it better heheheh. too bad you dont have that nifty little rarecandy/masterball glitch eith missingno. in it =/
some of the remixed tracks made me look forward to battling and catching pokemon honestly. some, not all. i'd rather the old school gym theme then the remixed version.
Im not really impressed with the new music. It's just a lot more... messy with too much vibrato. And did Blastoise really used to look that messed up in blue?
@TreeckoANDGrovyle That and the old effect at the start really add to the whole battle.
I pwned his pikachu with Feraligatr. i also beat it on my 2nd battle w/him with a lv. 26 rhyhorn. P's Iron Tail kept missing and i kept using earthquake.
wolfflash im from america and i read in some old strategy guide that our original blue cartridges were lost along the way and they made green blue... if i remember right, i lost the thing years ago.
Classic meets creative, simply put. They made it a lot less... bleepy, but still kept the core feel to the music. I like it, and this is why I like the remake just as much as the originals.
Blue in Japan came out after Red and Green, which was completely new, and the Red and Blue versions in the rest of the world are modeled after the new Blue versions.
The old music is waaaay better. In the remakes, it sounds like they were trying too hard to make it better, and it came out kinda... weird... I dunno, maybe it's just me.
@Sidnoea I think that FR/LG's "sound" is inferior. By that I mean that from Generation III on, the games kind of have a "sound" that's kind of like a motif that the music follows.
@typhlame95 That comment was from two years ago, and my views have changed significantly since then. But yes, that "sound" is what they call a soundfont. Every game/generation has a standard lineup of instruments and styles that they use for each song; each melody runs off of the game's soundfont. The older games didn't have that, they were just on-board sounds generated by the cartridge. The newer games can use better technology, and produce different/better sounds. It is sort of like a motif.
That Firered/Leafgreen rival song is really 'extreme'. I like it! It gets you pumped up. Out of all the games Generations 1&2 have the best music. I would say this but It's like Generation 1. This music can take the place of it.
I prefer the older music for some reason and the pictures of the pokemon that were older too. Mostly because I played the older games most of my life.
There's one thing you people always seem to forget when talking about a G/S/C remake...
FR/LG were ONLY made to make the 1st generation (and some of 2nd generation) pokes obtainable in 3rd generation, which were NOT obtainable at the time. Now, we CAN get em all (bar the event pokes), so there's no real reason to make said G/S/C remake. Not saying it won't ever happen though... just keep this in mind.
acually there is a reason. i'm talkin millions, or even billions for nintendo. if you havent noticed on the comments, G/S/C is everyone's favorite. mine too. it might be nintendo's best sell in history if it comes out. that reason enough?
Another very suspicious fact, I've noticed, is that all the Generation II starters have completely updated movesets in Generation IV. This does seem to imply a set of remakes, but I agree that there is nothing definite, at least not yet. So I guess we'll just wait and see, but I'm hoping for them.
Not really- I mean, the starters are updated every generation, just like all other Pokemon (for example, the Gen 1 starters got 2-3 new moves each in Gen 2). It's still possible, of course, but certainly not a sure thing.
why didn't they just make the firered/leafgreen the old one with better graphics and ability to go to other regions- like leaving the music and the landscape the same?
I like the music improvements and they made no changes to the landscape that I can think of, they just added the sevi islands(which were awesome but and not part of Kanto anyway
Ninendo has not made an official announcement of that yet. However the fact that those names have been copyrighted hints that they may be CONSIDERING the idea.

I think I can explain why there's no "Ocean Blue" or "Thunder Yellow" games.
Yellow was based on the show at that point in time. How confusing would that be to the 2nd gen of PKMN fans, who probably never saw the original. (not sure on that..)
As for Blue:
When they decided to bring the games Pokemon Red and Green over here, they changed Green to Blue to 'Americanize' it. In the re-release, the above didn't matter anymore, so the end result was remakes of the TRUE original games. (Correct info.)
FireRed and LeafGreen are totally best. I mean that if there wasnt the old version this version may dont exist, but that doesnt means the music cant be bether. Or other things too.
