  • haha at 2:01 it looks like charizard is wearing glasses because of the word 'of'

  • Blastoise had an overdose of Rare Candys

  • the remade music sounds like the original on steroids

  • whats the first song called?

  • I hope they do a leafgreen/firered remake )= i sold my FR AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT~

  • I was never really fond of the FR/LG soundfonts and didn't know why.

Listening to the tunes side-by-side, though, it's now evident. :(

  • the second song always givbes me the chillllsss.....

  • Where's my Lightning Yellow? Or Thunder Yellow? Or Electric Yellow? It doesn't matter what they call it, why hasn't it been made yet!?

  • @WolfSyn They never remake sequals for some reason. :(

  • @WolfSyn yeast infection

  • I really prefer the old themes.. the remakes sound totally messed up.

What they made of Gary's theme is especially terrible..

  • @fedupwithusernames

Really? It's what actually got me 2 notice Pokemon music. Then again, i didn't get Yellow until after I beat FR/LG

  • ahh awesome =) although oyu can fight with the originals, the remakes are just way too EPIK! ^_^_^ absolutely love it! and the fact that you catch johto pokemon makes it better heheheh. too bad you dont have that nifty little rarecandy/masterball glitch eith missingno. in it =/

  • some of the remixed tracks made me look forward to battling and catching pokemon honestly. some, not all. i'd rather the old school gym theme then the remixed version.

  • that old charizard sprite. . . I couldn't tell if it was Dragonite or Charizard at first. . .

  • @enviremental same with charmeleon. battle w/it and it looks like dragonite lol

  • 1st gen owns fire and leaf's ass

  • Im not really impressed with the new music. It's just a lot more... messy with too much vibrato. And did Blastoise really used to look that messed up in blue?

  • im glad that HG/SS will have a feature that lets you listen to the original music AND the remade music :)

  • It will? That's freaking awesome!

  • Yah it's a special item that you get somewhere in Goldenrod city or something.

  • Nah, it's in Celadon.

  • I'm pretty sure it's Goldenrod.

If not, oh well, the forums are full of lies.

  • @Xenozoa425

Plus, some of the remixed music is BEAUTIFUL (have you heard Goldenrod City's BGM, it's great!)

  • Yeah its called the GB Player!!! Its awesome. Too bad you have to wait until you beat all 16 (Kanto/Johto) Gyms before you can actually get it.

  • @LTS1337 I have a GB player on HG! It's so awesome i'm gonna set it up before I fight Red on mount Silver!

  • @TreeckoANDGrovyle Yeah its really epic when you use it while fighting Red/Lance and the Elite Four too. Pokemon had an epic win with creating that!

  • @TreeckoANDGrovyle That and the old effect at the start really add to the whole battle.

I pwned his pikachu with Feraligatr. i also beat it on my 2nd battle w/him with a lv. 26 rhyhorn. P's Iron Tail kept missing and i kept using earthquake.

  • @TreeckoANDGrovyle me too ^^

  • There is a Gold Silver remake now lol

  • The original trainer battle, gym leader battle, and battle with Gary music were better.

  • i wouldn't call them improvements myself- they're not bad, but they'll never replace or better the nostalgia of the origonals

  • wolfflash im from america and i read in some old strategy guide that our original blue cartridges were lost along the way and they made green blue... if i remember right, i lost the thing years ago.

  • what was that half normal half 8bit crud. originals the best.

  • when HG SS comes out could you plz do their music just like here

  • RBY did better in the Elite Four/Champ song and the Wild Pokemon Battle

    everywhere else is FR/LG territory

  • Fat Blaistoise x_x

  • I know!!!

  • The final battle with your rival still gives me goosebumps. Much more epic than most of the battle themes in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

That said, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf do have awesome music, just not epic.

  • the reason why they sound different is because one is monophonic and the other one is polyphonic

  • can you shut up about what they are in real life

  • There will be G/S remakes called Heartgold and Soulsilver, so maybe you can do a video about the music in those remakes.

  • They coul've made the battle theme in frlg sound better

  • Cool Video.... looking forward for your video on the g/s remake since gold was my fav of all =)

  • did u make any others..

  • what kind of creature is venasaur? a frog? lol

  • Yes :\

    Think so

  • its a dinosuar, charizard is a dragon and squirtle is a turtle

  • Fire Red Leaf Green Aqua Blue made huge technical improvements to Red Blue Green Yellow versions!= )

  • aqua blue doesn't exists .___., and they were just graphics...the awesomeness stills in the classics

  • I laughed a bit at Aqua Blue.

Would make sense for them to do that, wouldn't it? xD

  • Were They Gonna Use Aqua Bluw Instead Of Leafgreen? It Would Make Sense Because We Got Blue Not Green Im From Australia

  • Red and green were the original two games...

  • I think in some parts they overdid the FR/LG music... still kool tho.

  • They're probably going to do a remake og G/S/C for the DS soon.

  • I hope so.

  • changed,but still familar.

  • old made me tired to much beep-bop if u no wat i meen

new alright. u can here the old beeps and bops!

  • Classic meets creative, simply put. They made it a lot less... bleepy, but still kept the core feel to the music. I like it, and this is why I like the remake just as much as the originals.

  • Ahh nostalgia...

  • word

  • No, green is a Japan-Exclusive Version. It changed then after a while into the blue version

  • Blue in Japan came out after Red and Green, which was completely new, and the Red and Blue versions in the rest of the world are modeled after the new Blue versions.

  • The original Red and Green versions were never actually released in America.

    Instead they released international versions.

There wasnt supposed a Blue(I think) It was only the name given to that version. (so our Blue version is actually the Green version)

  • I really prefer the Champion's theme and Gym Leader Battle of R/B/Y

  • true cant beat the classics

  • The old music is waaaay better. In the remakes, it sounds like they were trying too hard to make it better, and it came out kinda... weird... I dunno, maybe it's just me.

  • thats what you do in a remix. If the original was intense, you've got to overdo the remix.

  • @Sidnoea I agree with you, listening to newer music DOES NOT mean listening to better music

  • @Sidnoea I think that FR/LG's "sound" is inferior. By that I mean that from Generation III on, the games kind of have a "sound" that's kind of like a motif that the music follows.

  • @typhlame95 That comment was from two years ago, and my views have changed significantly since then. But yes, that "sound" is what they call a soundfont. Every game/generation has a standard lineup of instruments and styles that they use for each song; each melody runs off of the game's soundfont. The older games didn't have that, they were just on-board sounds generated by the cartridge. The newer games can use better technology, and produce different/better sounds. It is sort of like a motif.

  • why don't they make water blue??? just like emerald, yellow, crystal, n patinum. ccopy one thing, copy the other nintendo!

  • Green on Japan = Blue on America....

    Jap: Red/Green

    Ame: Red/Blue

    Right? o_o

  • Yup I so agree I mean they tried.

  • FR and LG music just sounds overcrowded.

But they tried. Maybe a different technique for the remake of the GSC

  • He's right!

  • no way, no way man, RBY is a million times better then LG/FR music.

  • The last one at the end, definitely my favourite. Couldn't choose which is better though, love them both.

  • now then need to remake johto

  • yea, who could forget the EPIC journey on 2 regions.

  • what, do you know shiny gold?, well it's not official but it's pretty stellar!

  • The FR LG and EY gym battle music is sweet

  • EY? You do know there's no such thing as Electric Yellow...?

  • or even water blue

  • I'd gladly pass on ThunderYellow for GoldSun and SilverMoon or something along those lines.

  • ThunderYellow GoldSun SilverMoon CrystalStar WaterBlue

    Done.

  • 0:16! LOVE IT

  • That Firered/Leafgreen rival song is really 'extreme'. I like it! It gets you pumped up. Out of all the games Generations 1&2 have the best music. I would say this but It's like Generation 1. This music can take the place of it.

  • I Know FRLG Champion is great

  • the old music is much better and the pictures too

  • I prefer the older music for some reason and the pictures of the pokemon that were older too. Mostly because I played the older games most of my life.

  • The trainer in the firered and leafgreen gets annoying after a while, but everything else is fine.

  • Sweet, Firered Charizard is wearing a monocle.

    I Love Monopoly!

  • awsome. lol there's the 8-bit and the 16-bit i prefer the 16-bit myself instead of the bleeps and bloops but some other disagree

  • actually its 32 bit! sorry.

  • r/by blastiouse looks like a grenade

  • lol, that red/blue version of blastoise looked like he was going to blow up!

  • "i plan on making a similar one later, when they make the G/S remake

that will take a while, however..."

You could compare some of the Johto music remakes that's played in the FR/LG games or the unreleased R/S/E music (Like route music and Azela town)

  • There's one thing you people always seem to forget when talking about a G/S/C remake...

FR/LG were ONLY made to make the 1st generation (and some of 2nd generation) pokes obtainable in 3rd generation, which were NOT obtainable at the time. Now, we CAN get em all (bar the event pokes), so there's no real reason to make said G/S/C remake. Not saying it won't ever happen though... just keep this in mind.

  • acually there is a reason. i'm talkin millions, or even billions for nintendo. if you havent noticed on the comments, G/S/C is everyone's favorite. mine too. it might be nintendo's best sell in history if it comes out. that reason enough?

  • Another very suspicious fact, I've noticed, is that all the Generation II starters have completely updated movesets in Generation IV. This does seem to imply a set of remakes, but I agree that there is nothing definite, at least not yet. So I guess we'll just wait and see, but I'm hoping for them.

  • Not really- I mean, the starters are updated every generation, just like all other Pokemon (for example, the Gen 1 starters got 2-3 new moves each in Gen 2). It's still possible, of course, but certainly not a sure thing.

  • eeh they announced it, smartass

  • the original will always be the best but i like the remakes too!

  • agreed.

  • I liked FR/LG music on the gym leaders. It was always so intense! XD

  • all the originals are the best except the new champion music kicks all the champion contenders asses

  • QFT.

  • ok thats weird.. i just posted what "adamskii88" apparantly said ..

  • sorry people - adamskii88 is my brother's friend's acc , he left it on and i posted on it accidently, again sorry

  • why didn't they just make the firered/leafgreen the old one with better graphics and ability to go to other regions- like leaving the music and the landscape the same?

  • I like the music improvements and they made no changes to the landscape that I can think of, they just added the sevi islands(which were awesome but and not part of Kanto anyway

  • Make one about intro music!

  • The overly complex style that they used in FR and LG really kills most of the songs except perhaps the champion battle at some points.

  • old school for the win!!

  • if firered is related to red version and leafgreen is related to green version then blue version should be related to waterblue.

  • AND YELLOW?

  • If yellow it should be ThunderYellow

  • buubleblue sounds better ;)

  • if you battle on FR/LG you hear the original RBY song

  • Yes, the only music I think is better is the Championship Battle.

  • i like the old ones better

  • the old ones are the best.:)

  • ye for an old game it had awsome music

  • ok no offence to FR/LG but they really messed up the music in the remake... orioginal was way better

  • i like fr/lg champion battle music

  • When's No.10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  • ahhh... good times... :)

  • i liked the more simpler times in r/b/y g/s/c better but i can't deny i loved firered and leafgreen let's just hope for a johto remake

  • you are gonna be happy...duskgold and dawn silver will launched for nintendo DS

  • Ninendo has not made an official announcement of that yet. However the fact that those names have been copyrighted hints that they may be CONSIDERING the idea.

    I'd buy it though! :D

  • ditto i'd buy it johto is my fave region so which johto fan wouldn't buy it when they get a chance? me i'm ecstatic about those games although i wish there was a crystal remake but duskgold and dawn silver is good although aren't the names a bit switched isn't it suppose to be dawngold and dusksilver?

  • Contrary to popular belief, "DuskGold" and "DawnSilver" (and any variations) have NOT been copyrighted by ANYONE, however, bulbapedia lists the copyrighted names, simply go there and search "johto remake".

  • there's basically loads of vibe in the remakes, but the originals sound glitchy and classic which make it loveable + RBY is the reason i luv mew, my signature pokemon so equally grreat both of them.

  • MAN, there should be an option in these game to change the music the old school is classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think I can explain why there's no "Ocean Blue" or "Thunder Yellow" games.

Yellow was based on the show at that point in time. How confusing would that be to the 2nd gen of PKMN fans, who probably never saw the original. (not sure on that..)

    As for Blue:

When they decided to bring the games Pokemon Red and Green over here, they changed Green to Blue to 'Americanize' it. In the re-release, the above didn't matter anymore, so the end result was remakes of the TRUE original games. (Correct info.)

  • for people who think the origonals are better give me some good reasons why

  • FR LG is better then RBY

  • I think FR and LG add to much stuff to the music and changes the tune too much.

  • i wonder why they didnt do a blue water game?

  • I wonder why they didnt do a thunder yellow game

  • FR LG is better then RBY

  • You need to do the wild, trainer and gym themes from Kanto in GSC.

  • FireRed and LeafGreen are totally best. I mean that if there wasnt the old version this version may dont exist, but that doesnt means the music cant be bether. Or other things too.

  • FireRed and LeafGreen are totally best. I mean that if there wasnt the old version this version may dont exist, but that doesnt means the music cant be bether. Or other things too.

  • blastoise is so fat in RBY

  • blastoise is so fat in RBY

  • Nuh huh! RBY pwn FR/LG seriously how the hell can you say that they're better when they wouldn't exist if it wasn't for RBY?

  • RBY > FRLG

  • Red/Blue/Yellow win hands-down

I agree with whoever said they tried to add too many new things to the remakes. Of course they have the same themes, but they tend to be overdone (*thinks snare sound*) and distract from the themes

  • yea

    the slurs discraced the originals.

  • RBY IS BEST!

  • I don't know why... but somehow I like more the 8-bit versions than the newly mixed 16-bit one...

Probably because I'm an oldy pokemon trainer... or just because you gotta admit you got to love and worship the classics. However, the Champion's them and Gym Theme are really nicely done on FR/GL

  • I love the gym leader's. it's my fav!

  • you cant beat the classics!

  • apart from the music I`d say the remakes are a bit better. because theres way more to do and the graphics are better

  • LOL that blastoise is so fat xD

  • they make charizard look like a dragonite in R/B/Y

  • Why did they make Blastoise so FAT!

  • i don't like the FR/LG tunes really. i've got a feeling that the composer wants to add too much to the original tunes, and ironically detract the main theme.

  • Yeah, you're right, but you have to admit thet the gym leader music for Firered is pretty good, and the champion music too.

  • wt's the point of giving negative thumbs to me? everyone has the right to state his/her own opinion, and i'm not flaming/trolling or anything.

  • Oh what the heck is wrong with you people? He's only giving a valid opinion, the comment votes are to vote against bad/good comments. Not to vote for or against things you simply disagree with.

  • thanks delbitersoup. It's so funny, people commenting that they like the original tunes receive positive thumbs, and when i said i don't like the new tunes they gave me negative thumbs. What if i say i actually LIKE the original tunes and dislike the new tunes. It's sad for me to know that people who play pokemon games are so ignorant.

  • I think the original has more charm to it. It's nicer to listen to and it's nostaligic. The remakes are nowhere near as pwnage.

  • maybe nicer to listen to but FR LG has far better gameplay and graphics AND sound so that makes the remakes better

  • I disagree. I like R/B/Y because it takes the game back to basics, y'know? And grahpics don't have to be good for me to love the game.

  • there is much more cooler stuff in FRLG

  • ....not to mention more pointless, uneeded specific in-game objectives and parts.
