  • what kind of red pepper paste do you recommend for this recipe???

  • @SweetThaiSauce

I use sempio brand red pepper paste.. that's my recommendation..but if you can't find that brand.. other Korean brand works good too.

  • I coocked it today ^^ As for me, who don't used to eat spicy food, it's very hot >.< but even though I can feel the taste and it's good :D Btw, I have eaten it without rice or any other side dishes.

  • should you eat this with rice?

  • @Yummy907

You don't have to do..but it can be a little spicy or salty to eat it alone.. so eat with rice..it taste good..^^

  • I like the ingredients and your recipe is explained very well. I will be making this recipe.

  • Hi could u make recipe foto Korean style chicken feet plz

  • @yoyomrslashes

I don't know if i can get chicken feet around here..but I will add it to my list.. thanks

  • where is the video about spicy dog with vegetables?

  • @MalvinFalchi

    I've never ate it..and I don't it dog food.. that's why I didn't post it..

  • @MalvinFalchi Wow dude, really? -_-

  • dose the cooking wine important , i haven't ??

  • @lifeHE

    you can skip it ^^

  • I'm in Japan . I really like this menu . But I'm not sure if Japan has red pepper paste or not..=.=..If Not . Is there anything I can use instead of it. But Anyways , I will try my best to find it . Thank U so muCH...^___^

  • @Aimok100

    sorry but you need red pepper paste for this recipe. ^^;;

  • @aeriskitchen

I could find red pepper paste here. And I cooked this menu already..It's soooooO GoooooD !!..Thank you sooO muCH!!..Aeris!!..^.^...I'm waiting to see your next menUuuuuU.

  • um i dont really like carrot and onions that much would it be ok if i cut them into smaller pieces or just leave them out entirely?

  • @princessjoycess17

if you want it smaller pieces.. that means.. the cooking time will be shorter.. so add it later... since if they are over cooked..they will be all mashed in a pot... ^^ what kind of vegetables you like ?? think.. if you can replace them with something else..

  • @aeriskitchen i love the way you make your own recipe and share it to others.I love korean food specially bibimpap, beef bulgogi and kimpap. I worked w/ korean crew on board Hyundai Car Carriers. During weekend

we cooked some anju combined w/ Soju. :) And Yesterday i cooked Korean fried Chicken, your way. Kamsahamida! :)

  • Do you need to cover the food at any time?

  • @0216rick

You mean lid the pan when you cook it ?? if you want to thicken the sauce.. (reduce the liquid faster).. leave the lid open..but if your vegetables or meat are not done cooking ..so you don't want to lose your broth (Sauce.. liquid)..and cook it faster.. cover the lid.. thanks

  • i eat this in emirate mall only $20 from uae

  • pareang afritada

  • Is red pepper paste the same thing as fermented red pepper paste?

  • @electricmoo88

    I think so.. ^^

  • Hi. I went to a korean restaurant once. They served a large pan full of raw chicken with raw vegetables on a stove (with red sauce) and we cooked it ourselves. Is that the same as this one? (It was less watery though, the texture was less watery and more like stirfry spicy chicken). I wanna try cooking it but dunno the name of the dish (the restaurant was closed too) :(

  • @wwp00h

i guess the dish you tried was.. dakgalbi.. I have a video for that..please check it out. ^^

  • why do you put corn syrup in it? To thicken the sauce ?

    Thanks

  • @lisa16186

yes.. that's part of reason..if you don't want.. you can use sugar instead..

  • @MarshmallowDolly

where are you living in.. if you are in USA.. amazon started to sell Korean ingredients.. I recommend you to try "Sempio" brand red pepper paste. If you visit my blog aeriskicthen com.. you can find the links for the products on my "shop" category.. thanks

  • Is it ok if i skip the pepper flake? why do you always use both pepper paste and flake for the dish if the two both have spicy flavor? I tried some of your recipe but without the pepper flake, they still taste really good. so will it taste better with the pepper flake? It's winter at my country right now so it is the best to have some spicy hot meal. Really love your recipe. Keep up with your work :D

  • @Lony130132

Good point.. both of them are spicy ingredients but the taste is slightly different.. red pepper paste has some sweet flavor and sticky texture in it... red pepper powder is just spicy.. so we use them for reasons in different dishes...hehe but you already experienced even you skip some it still tastes good..then that's good. ^^ thanks

  • I made this today for me and my cousin, and we fell in love with it. It was easy and different. I've never boiled chicken before, so new experience. :)

    Thanks for the post.

  • is it ok to omit cooking wine?

  • @jaeluve91

Yes you can skip it ^^

  • I love Korean food especially the chicken dishes. Can you make jjimdak? That's a favorite of mine.

  • @bhoyAV7X

I posted a video for it recently.. please check it out.. andong jjimdak..

  • if this was fried then someone should get onew

  • Gosh that looks so delicious, I could swear I smell it cooking!...;-) I have a question: is this dish "hot" because I can't take any hot pepper heat. I can take food nicely seasoned with maybe a little heat. If it's "hot", how can I make it less so because I would really love to try making this.

  • @sparkle11231

yes.. it is kind of hot.. you can reduce some of the hot ingredients..but not too much because then you will lose flavor..

  • @aeriskitchen -- I understand. Thank you very much! I will try it.

  • where do u edit or made ur VIDEO? WHAT WEBSITE OR SOFTWARE?

  • @aliyahchandede

i use.. imovie (from iwork) on my mac ^^

  • i can get the red pepper paste but can get the pepper powder , what can i replace it with , or can i do with out ? thanks

  • @cherryangel72

You mean.. you can't get red pepper powder ?? then.. add a little more red pepper paste...

  • God I love Korean food and thanks to you I can cook it myself now, Cheers!!

  • what if I don't have wine ??? thanks

  • @GreatWorldful

    you can skip it. ^^

  • Made this last night minus the peppers at the end because it was plenty spicy for me and almost too spicy for my wife..... but she'll live. It had a lot of bold flavor to it, this is going in my black recipe box for sure. Thanks!

  • What would be a healthier substitute for the corn syrup?

  • @apsdh340

use sugar.. I know sugar isn't that healthy either..but maybe a little better than corn syrup ???

  • @apsdh340 chlorophyll syrup

  • yeah , me too i can't find red pepper paste , where can i find it ?

  • @vangvongdeuane

are you in USA ??? you can buy it from online.. amazon... or other korean markets.. hmart.. assi plaza..

  • @aeriskitchen No, i live in Franch but OK i will buy it from online . thank you so much

  • Excuse me , when u use chilli paste or pepper paste or anything that related to spicy , do u use korean one ?i mean , ur chilli , im not korean ,im malaysian ,can i use malaysian chillies

  • @TheNajihah96 well Kimchi will not taste authentic if you don't use Korean spices.. sure you can use the ones you have in malaysia. but the texture, the apperance and taste might be totally different

  • @TheNajihah96

yes..i used Korean ones.. since I didn't try malaysian ones.. sorry i can't tell how they are different from Korean ones.. i hope somebody can answer better for your question..sorry again..

  • @TheNajihah96 saya pernah guna yg malaysia punya...pedas tp xmerah laa

  • how sad..i cant find red pepper paste anywhere here :(

  • @waterdiamond9

where do you live in..that's sad..

  • @aeriskitchen i live in the odessa/midland Tx area..

  • @waterdiamond9 ..... I had to go to a local Japanese based market here to find the paste

  • I just made this for dinner and WOW it is delicious! Just curious if there is a way to make without the spicyness. I could not feed the kids this dish, can I reduce the Chili Paste? Thanks so much for this recipe!!!

  • @ansesquivias

    yes you can reduce it..

  • 꺄 >_<

  • i wanna that knive =D

  • what kind of cooking wine do you use ?

  • @axy96

    I use Korean brand mirim...

  • I can't wait to make this!

  • woot woot!!!!

  • but i think you should take out the skin and fat, b/c they give you high cholestorol.

  • @Creighla

I agree.. so if you consider health... yes use chicken without skin and fat.. for the flavor... it's better with them. ^^: thanks

  • I always love to make this recipe, Aeri. I get no complaints from my family when I make it! BTW, I am slowly getting better. Thank you for your concern. xxxxx

  • hi omgwow0,

Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that you are starting to get bored of Korean food. I don't know how many different kinds of Korean food you tried... but if you are getting tired of eating it... hm...then.. maybe you need to try some other country food until you are hungry for Korean food again.. how about that ?? thanks ^^

  • hi omgwow0,

I didn't think that your comment is against Korean food.. I thought it's your opinion..and anybody can express own opinion.. Yes.. I can see why you think like that.. and part of I can agree too..but there are different kinds of Korean food.. marinated food is not all about Korean food. If you try various Korean food.. you might have a little different idea. and as I mentioned.. you can try different countries food also for various flavor.. thanks :)

  • can i use chicken stock instead of water?

  • hi jakeychan87,

Yes, you can...but just with water.. it gets good enough flavor.. so you don't need to use chicken stock... thanks :)

  • can i use honey instead of corn syrup?

  • hi Tablahands,

yes.. but if the honey you have has strong flavor, I will recommend you to use sugar instead. that matches the taste better for this dish. thanks :)

  • I made this yesterday for my family. It came out DELICIOUS!!!! thank you aeris!!!!

  • is it necessary to use cooking wine? can you simply use water?

    Thank you for the recipe!

  • hi xperfangel5655,

Cooking wine helps to make the meat tender..and get rid of bad meat flavor... but you can skip it..it will not ruin the dish. thanks :)

  • 닭도리탕은 일본식 언어 아닌가요?

Dak do ri tang is Japanese.

  • hi, sjboy10092

  • Great work. Many thanks.

  • hi, OhSimon99

    You are welcome.. thanks :)

  • You still call it Dakdoritang! Thank you!

I've been reading about this uproar to start calling it dakbokkeum, as dakdoritang has japanese roots to its name. :(

^^ I love your videos, and it's amazing that you're teaching others how to cook Korean food!

    Good work! ^^

    :)

  • Great video. You always make it looks so simple:). But I can tell it still takes some time to prepare all the ingredients.

I love this dish:). It reminds me of curry chicken and stew.

  • Hi, heopie

You are right... look simple..but can be more work than you see...hehe but really worth to try... right ??? thanks !!!

  • looking good!! I just bought a whole chicken I will cook this tomorrow!!

  • It tasted fantastic! My son told me next time just use boneless breast he didnt like dealing with the bones!

  • Hi, rae1968

haha...really ?? great !!!! just tell him... that can reduce the great flavor if you use boneless brest. =P anyway..hehe actually my husband has problem to deal with the bones too..lol..

  • will the taste be very different if i don't use the cooking wine? allergic :\

  • Hi, xasianbabiix

Oh... you have allergy.... cooking wine is for tender texture for meat... and getting rid of bad meat flavor... but It will not ruin your dish if you skip it.. so.. skip it. :)
