Great vid! Did you install the hook directly into the 2x4 stud or you have a sturdier setup? I was at the hardware store wondering about the hooks - they support over 300lb but was told the hardware is fine; the problem is the stud is not safe for a hammock bc it could snap with the weight and damage the house structure. I was told to use a 4x4 safely attached on top and bottom. what are your thoughts/experience about the integrity of the house structure with a hammock installed on studs? Thnx!

I've set up many many hammocks this way and never had a problem with the studs failing.
(Of course, I cannot be held responsible for anyone's stud failure... do it at your own risk... yada yada...).
But I haven't had a problem yet using 3/8 eye bolts.
