Gibson was around 37 inches at withers, the 42.2 claim (later changed to 42.6 and even to 43 by the proven liar Sandy Hall) was taken either very high at his neck or even at top of his head. AND, there's a couple of videos on George where he walks past a counter top (standard 36 inches) and he's not taller, only with his neck and head he is.
