You made such an impression even in those few seconds, but when I saw this my heart fell out. My mother taught me to sing to Phantom with her when I was a child, even though I ended up as a baritone and can't reach the tenor parts anymore; but hearing you perform this extremely challenging piece with such ease and beauty took my breath away.
We were watching the virtual choir thing and it showed your audition video for Eric's song. Then we watched the actual choir vid and we were astounded by your voice once again!! I just have to say that when u jump notes like that at the end it gave me chills. That was gorgrous. I have to admit at first i thought u might be lipsyncing because it was ridivulously good but i noticed u could hear ur breaths in and there were very tiny differences that made ur performances unique. @TaLuvsBurt Aw haha well thank you very much :) I don't do much to it, only a little bit of Aussie mousse and hairspray. Oh and I use a hairdryer with a diffuser that attaches to it. That makes A LOT a difference.
Hi Melody - Like millions watching the Ted presentation, I fell in love with the power that the internet brings in the hands of creative people like Eric. At 51 I've only just started formal singing lessons - and as expected - it now means I cannot look at singers the same way. Good! good job! As a voal teacher, I feel inclined to give a couple of pointers if that's ok. ^_^ This is musical theatre stuff, so it's probably ok to scoop a few pitches cuz it has the pop feel to it, but I would warn against it. It takes away from the beauty of the sound itself. The very last appegiated descending notes, connect them in one stream of motion. And make the portamento at the end more Italian, (try to hit every note going down rather than sliding). Again, very nice voice!
Like so many people I found this video due to your involvement with TED's broadcast of Lux Aurumque. You have a clear, shiver inducing, goosebump raising voice. That's a GOOD thing! Phantom makes me goosebumpy when I like it. I hope you go as far as you want to!

When I first saw a picture of you, with those eyes and that smile, I thought I was seeing a angel. Now that I've heard your voice, I'm convinced that you are one. I understand and I respect that you do this for entertainment purposes only, but I truly believe that you deserve to be on the world's most famous stages. Beautiful boice and oh so smooth. I hate it when I come across a voice and they ruin it by "screeching"slightly in the super high notes. You are fantastically adorable-Can you be my fairy godmother? haha

Absolutely sweet, unfulfillable longing. Your voice and your treatment of this song was as good as I've heard in the theatre and I've been to the Phantom. One test I put to voices is "Can I listen to it over and over?" You passed will flying vocals!

@TaLuvsBurt Aw haha well thank you very much :) I don't do much to it, only a little bit of Aussie mousse and hairspray. Oh and I use a hairdryer with a diffuser that attaches to it. That makes A LOT a difference.

Hi Melody - Like millions watching the Ted presentation, I fell in love with the power that the internet brings in the hands of creative people like Eric. At 51 I've only just started formal singing lessons - and as expected - it now means I cannot look at singers the same way. Good! good job! As a voal teacher, I feel inclined to give a couple of pointers if that's ok. ^_^ This is musical theatre stuff, so it's probably ok to scoop a few pitches cuz it has the pop feel to it, but I would warn against it. It takes away from the beauty of the sound itself. The very last appegiated descending notes, connect them in one stream of motion. And make the portamento at the end more Italian, (try to hit every note going down rather than sliding). Again, very nice voice!
