For example, I agree going into Iraq alone was unwise, but I think it has little to do with the EPA issue, where the problem is NO country wants to take orders from another country's Government. The only effective thing we can do environment-wise is as individuals, set a trend by buying smaller cars, youtube it, sell it as a style and make others WANT to buy smaller cars.

I agree w/Sen Hart. We need treaties to address major issues of the day, namely global warming. You can enter into treaties without giving up sovereignty. They are not mutually exclusive. But, they have to be specific & have to be universal meaning everyone has to agree to abide by them. That's a big difference from 'global governance'. &, I would argue, that the 'people' need to be represented in such discussions & not by pols/bureaucrats. Common/Indigeonous folk need to have seat at the table.

Security and the promise of easy to answers to climate change are not good reasons for supporting global governance. Global government would be a boon to multinational corporations that hope to become global monopolies. We should lead by example, not by committee.
