  • Another great non-album-B-side by Elton John. Also available on some copies of the "I'm Still Standing" single.

  • So much meaning to me!!

  • I love this song! Elton is the man!!!!!!!

  • Actually recorded in 1979, during the "21 at 33/Fox" sessions. The verse melody's a bit awkward, but it's still a cool track.

  • damn, look! another gem!

  • This is beautiful!!

THANK YOU for introducing me to so many of Elton's more obscure songs. I'm in love with the man's music--and Taupin's writing--but not having lived during his 'prime', a lot of these are new to me.

  • This song should have been included on an album and released as a single - it's one of Elton's best.

  • Just a brilliant song. We all have been able to relate to this song in one way or another.

  • omg I think you actualy posted a song i have never heard from him LOL. I have had heard a lot of the rare b sides.

  • As great as he still is, at one point he was really in league of his own. I think he can start a resurgence if he does something for his health, loses all the weight, removes the wig, and worked hard again on albums -- with a great producer of pop song craft. Tony Bennett did it and is as good ever. I think EJ can do it too.

  • If elton loses the weight he would look skrawgly

  • Not sure about the UK, but in Australia "Tortured" was the BSide of " I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues ". It certainly was a nice track, too good to be a BSide.

  • @sheebaridgeback Most of Elton's b-sides were that way.... Hey Papa Legba, Piano Version of Skyline Pigeon, Conquer The Sun.......

  • What was this song the b-side of??

  • I believe this was first released as the b-side to the 1981 UK single 'Chloe'.

  • anyone know what album this one's from?

  • His undeniable talent aside, I'm of the opinion that a lot of his material on albums from 1986 up to and not including "Songs From the West Coast" all tend to sound vaguely similar. They're certainly "good" songs, but nothing about them is particularly remarkable and they all tend to come off as sounding like formulaic generic "late Elton John" material. He's made an earnest attempt at recapturing the magic of late, but there's no denying his salad days are behind him.

  • this is an absolute gem of a song, its so beutiful, just like everything he does.

  • this is a very nice song..
