My friend and i have rc's and i have rustler xl-5 , and he has a hpi. we like to go to the skatepark sometimes....this looks exactly like the one we go to....are you in Norman, OK?
@08ICP Ironically, "real cars" in the future will mean electric cars. Besides, I can't stand all of the things about nitro that make it what it is. (The sound, the smell, and the constant tuning/trying to get it to run.)
If I were you, I'd get the Rustler. Plus, you should get the VXL (brushless) version. Then, you'll have any speed you want, and the versatility and handling of the rustler (which is better than the bandit)
Wow. Just because they are electric does not mean theyre slow. Whoever said that has no experience. Back then gas would be faster, but they've come up with very powerfull engines, and upgrades that will make them do nitro gas powered speeds. Today I just got a rustler and I'd say its pretty darn fast, and man, these things are amazing on obstacles.
you say their brushless? I no absolutly nothing about traxxas but they just seem slower than i thought theyd be (sorry if im being rude) but i was gonna ask have any of you used a titan 12t ?
Someone else is referring to the brushles trucks that they own - not the R/Cs in this video! Did you read the description? It clearly states that they are both brushed, and one is in fact running a titan 12T motor. Did you want to know anything specifically about that motor?
(p.s. I also have a rustler VXL, and it is *fast* - I have learned that it is easy to break things at the skatepark driving that fast!)
They drive as well as i do lol. Although as much as i would like to go to a skatepark I cant. cause I lowered my shocks and my rusty is only about 1 inch off the ground. And my pede is waiting for a new motor. Btw there both traxxas velineon vxl's
And no the motor didn't die in the pede I sold it to a friend because he had a race that day.
No, they are both brushed. The XL-5 is running a well-used Titan 12T, and the blue one (and old-time Rustler) is running a brand new brushed motor - that's why it's faster.
not trying to sound mean but a skatepark should be used for bikes boards and blades; yes you can do this to on a slow day at a skatepark but dont bring the whole family that treat it like a jungle gym
Not to sound mean, but you have no idea what you are talking about. I'm guessing you are one of those biker/boarder/skater types who thinks that a public park actually somehow belongs to them only. False idea, friend.
And for your information - I only ever do "this" on a "slow day", or slow time - early in the morning, when all of the boarders/bikers/skaters are recovering from their late night partying/hangovers. So, I'm not in their way at all - not that I'd care.
durrrr "that *was* mean alas!" durrrrrrrr i said you can do this on a slow day. how would you like it if you had 16 year olds messing around where your kids play thats how we are, we dont like kids playing around when we are trying to land a trick and stuff. and really im pointing out the obvious and im a biker but i dont go out and party and get hangovers your so fucking stereotypicall.
I apologize for being a bit harsh and judgemental. I understand that there are plenty of bikers/skaters/etc. that are civil, respectful, and do not just party and get drunk all of the time. It just gets my hackles up when someone says, "You can do that as long as you don't get in my way." It's so selfish - which is why I don't care about getting in their way.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and put you in the group of nice skaters - deal?
yea i just got really offended stereotyping me and sometimes "you can do that as long as you dont get in my way" means hey im looking out for your stuff like i dont run it over and stuff, you know? and sorry about the f-bomb i got worked up about the drunk skater and biker thing, my bad. we cool?
if you're doing short distance stuff, like at a skate park - go with the smaller pinion - it'll get you up to speed faster. If you're running in larger areas or on the street/parking lot, go larger pinion - you'll get a higher top speed. In the video, I was using a 16-tooth pinion! Works great for a small place like a skate park.
Only momentarily full throttle to get max acceleration, but then you had to slow down for the jumps/turns and stuff. I don't think we broke anything that time out, but we certainly did break a few things at the skatepark in general. All that metal and concrete - very tough on a car! (Traxxas is really tough, though. You've got to hit hard to break it!)
It depends on what you want... I wanted a cheap pack for $13. I got it! It didn't run as fast, but it made it so I could run my car twice as long, so it was a decent buy. (But I won't be buying another one!)
yah the 13$ pack wasnt that the trinity 1300 pack on rcplanet i got the 3600 pack and it was a ni-cd and i thought it was a nimh pack but i was satisfied
and at the end u should launch it over the fence did it waith my slash 4x4 broke allot of parts but i was running a 3s lipo and i did 2 backflips

My modified electric rustler is much much faster!
alexappel1997 2 years ago
they electric
rangersfan80 2 years ago
They are not slow because they are electric - they are slow because they are brushed motors and geared low.
Brushless electric motors + high gearing = faster than any nitro... and lots of broken parts!
jolynsbass 2 years ago

But if you did have it on a high gear like mine, then it would be faster. I have mine geared high, so I can do over 35, everything stock.

not to be mean or anything,
Blue rusty- faster, better driving, and had bad luck
White rusty- slower, plays dirty, and is wreckless =) just like me.
this video really shows how much abuse these things can take
