I don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but i was treated like dirt in Texas as a young stoner. Cops would stop any car i was in or stop me on the street to search me just for the hell of it, and we'd ask for probable cause, but, the fact is, the technical interpretation of the law ONLY matters in court, and, until you're in front of a jury, the cops are the law, so, if they catch you with anything, you're screwed whether or not the search was legal. It's a Houston, Texas thing. The girl in question wore a dress that was a bit skimpy, but not revealing. The people at the door refused to allow her the ability to cover her legs with her dress train, kept the money for her ticket, and called the cops.

The sad part is the police actually arrested her as if she had broken a law.
