The G1 reissues are the best! I shop for transformers out of a sense of nostalgia, and between them and the Masterpiece line, my shelves are starting to sag with the die-cast glory days of old! Awesome review, as always, and I'm looking forward to more G1 reviews from you in the future my friend.

If the head looking up in car mode bothers you, it can rotate all the way round and sit under the hood, staring the the tarmac as he drives along. I assume that this was to free up the seat for the figure to sit in originally.

He has like 7 Sixshots just to display them in all modes and several Insecticons to form an army.He also keeps them in special cabinets were there is minimal UV light and oxygen to preserve them to the maximum possible.But after he got a baby recently he didn`t have time to do reviews of them.So now you know a little about Pizdets79.

I was born in 94 and even I think of this toy when I hear the name sideswipe. Also I thought it was funny that exactly when I said to my self I didn't have the mony for him you said in a derpy voice "I don't have the mony". lol.

I would save up but I need to save mony for a computer for college at the moment.

Ah, wonderful memories. Sideswipe is one of my favorite molds from the G1 era. I have so many figures with this mold. Original G1, G2, G1 Red Alert Hasbro reissue, Deep Cover, Clamp Down, Tiger Tracks, Takara TFC reisue, Hasbro reissue and I think thats it. And I love them all...highly recommended every single one of them. It would be awesome if Takara or Hasbro would reissue Sunstreaker, but so far I think only the KO is the most recent "reissue".

@optibotimus i've heard this comment before and find it hard to swallow. if vw did not want their cars associated with violence, then why did they put a touareg in the bourne ultimatum and then create a very violent commercial associating the movie with their truck? its on youtube, just type touareg and bourne ultimatum. general motors simply paid a lot of money to have their models (camaro, topkick, hummer, solstice, corvette) in the movie. i'm happy i got these reissues cheap!

They may not be very articulated compared to most actual figures, but they are truly worth having.

@omegaredalfa awesome. i dunno, tho. for me, the main appeal in the figures was the complexity and bad-assery added to them in the movies. i love to see how accurately they can produce a complicated and complex-looking character out of an accurate alternate mode. thus far, my favorite figures are hunt for the decepticons leader starscream and hunt for the decepticons human alliance jazz

@nintendopwns002 Actually those two are my favourites as well, along with RoTF Leader Prime, they're so accurate and realistic. But I've grown fond of G1s too, despite they're limitations, especially the triple changers and the combiners.

@omegaredalfa yeah i can definately see your point. the main thing g1 has over the movies in my opinion (apart from nostalgia) is the huge variety of characters. the movies would have been ten times better if they had included more characters. i hope that if they really are going to make a few more films (that's what i heard) they'll make more of an army vs. army (of identifiable characters) sort of thing. g1 definitely was a great series (from the bits ive seen at least)

I haven't seen a lot of the g1, on ly the first season and half the second so far, but its pretty enjoyable even though it's not of my generation. And yeah, I also heard there's going to be at least another movie, I hope so, its been a good series, with some ups and downs, but i really love it, and its toys.

@omegaredalfa i haven't gotten any toys lately cuz they just haven't been all that good lately. the only ones im really looking for at this point are human alliance barricade and possibly, just possibly (if i find them and if i feel like it) voyager long haul, voyager optimus, and/or human alliance soundwave. but i did think the movies are great. rotf was a little bit of a mess at first, but ive thought about it and i think i get all the plot-holes. dotm was absolutely AMAZING THO!

Its funny cause i can remember on my sideswipe and red alert as a kid. The left foot on both of them never came down all the way. That one moment in the video brought back a flood of memories about those those being my two favorite from when i was a kid. i must seek those two out again now.

I remember the roof actually rotating further up behind his head that what you had it. So it was at the same sort of profile level as what it is when pushed down for alt mode. Certainly with my original G1 Red Alert (which obviously shared the same mold) that I have to hand, the double roof hinge does let you sit the roof higher and more flush. But get on ebay and find a proper rocket launcher! Curse health and safety for not putting one in, but then how come modern TF's have working ones???

I got mine for thirty dollars at the Iacon North Transformers fan gathering up here in winnipeg, he is my first G1 figure and I without a shadow of a doubt adore it!

A nice retro review dude! Love it! Sunstreaker might be a problem to find, since the mold was lost or destroyed. There is a KO version of Sunstreaker, not sure of the quality.Local toy shows and whatnot are the best place to find him. I got mine complete for 60 bucks at a toy show, all he needed was Reprolabels. Good luck tracking him down :)

I got the original G1 for 60 at a local toy show, had both fists, the missiles, the litle yellow bits for his shoulders, the chrome had very little wear, the paint was near perfect. He was loose, but still, for a G1 Sunstreaker it was a good deal, they can go for over 100 complete in great condition. He is one of the few lost molds, the others that I know of are Mirage and Wheeljack, both of which I have in various conditions.
