  • when was this sung? during zia-ul-haqs era?

  • very moving...fills me with tears. there is still hope.

  • our biggest problem.... we talk allot ,do less... v criticize allot, improve ourselves less. v r probably best critics in the world bt know nothing of "self evaluation n self criticism"

  • @shaanhamza nhe bhai ... hm dekhen ge tb jb hm ic k liye koshish kren ge. when v cant pass witout working hard for it then y we always expect our country to glorify with v doing nothing...

  • Hum Dekhey Gey ,Hum Dekhey Gey,,Becharey Faiz Sahab Bhi Ise Umeed Me Margaye,,AUr Shahyed Hum Bhi Ise Umeed Me Marjaye Gey,, Aur lagta Hai Diikhey Ga kise Ko Bhi Nahi

  • hey dears n nears would u ppl mind to tell me that in which era such a ghazal was sung ..... !!! it seems n even i fell some typ of sorrow n critisition ..!! thanx

  • Incredible! How about getting kids interest by slipping movie clips over poetry? What do you think... do youtube search for "POETRY TO MOVIES BY NOWDY.COM" (Grace Kelly to Lord Byron... Audrey Hepburn to Shakespeare... Ingrid Bergman to Elizabeth Barrett Browning... then the story of the same ladies, at the end of their lives).

  • legend Faiz write this poem but legend iqbal bano make it priceless

  • This is so movingly revolutionary in metre and verse , so apt and so very appropriate for times both past and times present that my namesake who provides the translation should be applauded. ...excellent repartee...in spite of being a coffee drinker...Asif 410 you should come on line and present the translation live...it is in keeping with the times...jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi hai... afnh4atvsnldotnet asif nurie delhi.

  • This day will come but it will not come due to elections, Long Live Revolution.

  • Faiz gives a beautiful message in this poem to the whole world. That day will soon come when justice will be served!! FAIZ<3

  • Excellent

  • BOHAT HI AALAAA

  • mind blowing.....

  • wa.....

  • Faiz Ahmed Faiz is referring to a promised day...

  • i have bumps

  • very great...it is a lesson for all the leaders of pakistan,of every time ,when they came in power, and acts just like kings.............sahar alizai

  • Since no translation can translate Faiz's articulation, I will not attempt to correct the given translation, or come up with my own. I will however summarize my interpretation of his poem. Just like Muslims believe that one day the whole universe will be destroyed and we will be resurrected before god to be accountable for our deeds, and the downtrodden victims will get justice, Faiz believed Red Dawn will be a mini judgement day on earth.

  • @farooqihassan

You are right bhai, looks like the day is already here as we are seeing in middle east. I believe and pray to end the dictatorship, monarch and injustice from this world sooner. Insha allah

  • Poet : Faiz Ahmad Faiz (English Translation) We shall see It is a must that we shall see The day that has been prophesied The one written on the Tablet of Fate We shall see When the insurmountable mountains of oppression Shall blow as if cotton flakes And beneath the feet of us common folk This land will throb with a deafening sound And upon the heads of the despotic folk Lightening will strike a thundering pound.

  • Bas naam rahe ga allah ka: this line means all false idols and security symbols will be demolished. Only those humans will be the survivors who have complete faith in allah and are committed to do what allah chose for the humanity and sent us example of ideal society by Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

  • Unforgetable Gazal of Faiz Ahmed Faiz which is duly energized by Madam Iqbal Bano. Enjoy friends.

    Muhammed Ahmed, Saeedabad, Karachi. (Pakistan)

  • is the translation reliable?

  • @PapGripDezi you asked "is the translation reliable?"

well to me it is good enough translation but it won't make coffe for you and give you a massage.

  • @Asif410

    lol

Take it easy Asif bhai. My Urdu isn't that good, so i just want to make sure the translation is accurate before i recite the poem.

    thanks for the post.

  • @Asif410

thank you so much for the translation. I'm sorry if i sounded ungrateful. I am not. I appreciate it A LOT.

  • @PapGripDezi Please google before asking. After all, it's Faiz's poetry, which by definition has to do with defiance of the status-quo.

  • Indian journalist and peace activist Arundhati Roy wrote an article with the title "Hum Dekhenge" recently about India's war against insurgency.

  • The singing brought me to tears. emotions so deep, the love and thirst for freedom, from all that oppress.Unearthly singer from heaven.

  • thats smoooth n so very smoooth

  • kia baat hai.. Hum dekhein ge yaar.....Hum dekhein ge

  • An inspiring Ghazal and a soul stirring rendition - has endeared and immortalized both. May allah (swt) bless them both, ameen. Sher Suleman

  • Faiz, a great son of Pakistan, has immortalized himself as a true and committed voice of our People.

Iqbal Bano also deserves special tributes for her courageous rendition of Faiz's celeberated Ghazal in the very reign of the tyrant. We may not be alive to witness but "Uthey gha Un ul Haq ka Nara", Insha Allah. Salutation to both and may they be blessed a peaceful heavenly abode in His Nearness, ameen. Sher Suleman

  • Merau dost sahi aalimon ko gali deita or kon hai jo juraat kare ga aalimon ki bey izzaati karney ki. Lekin agar koi nam nahad aalim bun kar loggon ko ghlat bata sumjhaiy, logoon ko daangey or fisaad par uksaai to behtar hai is aalim ko hi goli mar di jai. mera aalim hi humari dee e islam kay muhafiz hein or hamaray jaaid ulema or aalim scholars koi ghalt baat nahi karta or na batta hai. yeh to hamara sarmaya hai

  • I hopoe that the future is better and that the judiciary who is asserting itself and peeping into own souls. But what happens when CJ Iftikhar Chaudhary leaves will the judiciary be strong and courageous like this. After the judges they also come from the rank of commoner. They are not impregnant to the demanding and changing world.

As regards the media we must still salute musharraf who gave the tongue to speak and and search.b ut some channels for sure have or try ot cross limits

  • so couregous lady, who sang this one, when Marshal Law was imposed in Pakistan, but she sang for Faiz and awam. jsut have a look her body language while she is singing

  • The day is coming near. I dont think it would be a bloody revolution but a better future awaits us all.

There are new power centers in the country. Its not only the judiciary asserting itself as an institution. An independent, open media delights me like nobody else!

Now it makes more sense to me when they said that press was the fourth pillar of the state! Today, media is more than that, to me its turning into a base on which the other pillar stands!

  • awsome.....

  • Faiz ahmed faiz ki poetry or singer iqbal bano

    ......

nice very nice message and gud song by iqbal bano

  • bano appa ur wish is eternal.....every1 is here 4 an inquisitive wish..HAM DEKHAIN GAI...............wht ll happen next....every1 wonders n quests 4 it..........

  • @opxoxoxopoxite If you cannot appreciate Iqbal Bano and her command over classical music, You know nothing of music, have no discernable taste and your words display an utter lack of class.

Sometimes, if you cannot say something nice, it's best to say nothing at all you turd!

    Go in Peace!

  • The poet and the singer both have left the world.. but definitely the hope is still there.. in fact becoming stronger.. Insha Allah Hum dekhengay.. the great poetry sang by a great singer...

  • Those who are thinking about Hindustan, Pakistan, Hindu, muslim are abusing the shair, one of the best the world has seen as well as the singer.

What is the point of listening to these great works if it still does not open our eyes?

  • Per afsos k is nazm ka shair us din ke hasrat liay dunya say chala gaya. great poem lakin shayad ab woh din hum ko bhi dekhna naseeb na ho.

  • Bilkul, Inshaallah, this great day will be come in our life, Allah please help us.

  • @sincier123 AAMEEN.

    you forget to write AAMEEN.

  • very nice peom.socalism zindabad

  • great reality song

    ameenrahi

  • this is one of the best songs ever sung. it shows that the cruel and tyrant oppressors will die their own death in the long run. pervaiz musharaf has been one of such cruel persons called Yazeed e Azam by most of our country men. Long live Islam Long Live Pakistan. ameenrahi

  • friends, you can see it in some democractic countries where there is fairly high degree of justice between a common man and the highest office holder of the government. I am skeptical if a day will ever come in our Pakistan when the dream of Faiz and Iqbal - dream of a common man will be realized. Balance of power heavily tilts in favor of the rich and the powerful; Have-nots are simply at their mercy. How i wish I could see a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel.

  • @TheNetRoamer: As a Muslim we must never be dejected. Remember Haq (truth) will prevail and Batil (Falsehood) will vanish. It is a promise from Allah and Allah keeps His promise.

  • God help those who help themselves. Dont forget this fundamental law. Haq does not prevail upon batil automatically. Mecca was not conquered on its own, it required army of men, materials and above all leadership. I am not very hopeful just because the nation is suffering without any sign of resistance. God bless you.

  • Laazim hai ke hum bhi daikhainge

    Insha allah ,, Hum daikhainge,

  • An imaginitive tafsir of surah Rahman.Only Faiz was able to do it and he did it splendidly. We all share this hope. The day of Reckoning will bring Justice of all human.

  • Very very meaningful and true poetry which shall be showing its practical displays from time to time

  • good song

  • وَیَبقٰی وَجَہ رَِبّکَ سورۃ، رحمٰن کی 27ویں آیت۔

  • No doubt this is a beautiful Ghazal and so true. But, Geo TV used it to cash their Channel made alot of money paid by Nawaz Sharif and Chief Justice Lobby, but they never paid a single penny to Iqbal Bano or any of her family. When she died she was in very bad condition. This is so Sad. There are prooves that Geo is not Pakistani Patriotic Channel, they are working for Yahoodi and Indian Lobby and cashing Million of Rupees.

  • don't u have anything better to do than blame indians for no reason....go and get urself a fucking life

  • Can you EVER shut your whinny mouth and STOP whinning about the bad things and praise whatever good that we have!

    Arif

  • dear tauseefqau, aapne to mere man ki baat chhin li hai. what u have said cannot be said someone whose heart is not in the song, in the lyrics and in the celestial height where the singer takes us to. what is more important is that the message of the great faiz saheb is not only taken across but ably underlined by the equally great bano ji. thanks

    ashok

    dubai

  • kya zabardast awaaz hai, lovely expressions, her singing does not need any support from musical intruments

  • Exactly this is what i felt after listening eachtime .and the most important thing in singing is that Singer is expressing what poetry means..stress on words, anger, challenge & hope.everything is present..Poetry becomes more understandable after listining such renditions

  • timeless moments!!!

  • Very nice song and excellent singer. Unluckily now singer and writer (Faiz Ahmed Faiz) both are not between us. Now we dont have peoples like these only we have stupid MULLAH left to make our country a hell.

  • totally agree with u man...yeah mulleh ghabees loog humare mulk ko kharab karne pe lage we hein

  • aalimon ko gaali dekar sirf raqs o suroor me lage rehna kya yehi deen he..agar haan to allah aap par raham kare aor hidayat de...haan bure aour bad deen aalimon se allah mehfooz rakhe....

  • @masifkitty2010 Aap apne din ki fikar karein aur humaari aaqbaton ki fiqar hum par chor dein. Apnay harr faile ka jawab hum nay khud daina hai. Do not patronize anyone with your holier than thou attitude! Allah ka kaam Allah par chorein, Khudai fauj daar ban-nay ka koi faida nahin!

    Salaam!

  • What a revolutionary poetry by Faiz Sahab and an amazing performance by Iqbal Bano, wah. Thanks for uploading this! I was fortunate to listened to her live performance.

  • subhanallah.this is a masterpiece of faiz ahmed faiz.additionally iqbal bano has done justice to the ghazal by blessing her voice to it.the ghazal is the voice of every heart that yearns for justice, peace and unity.Allah bless and have His Mercy on both faiz ahmed faiz and Iqbal bano amin.

  • I am sorry to have heard of the death of Iqbal Balo.

In this selfish world of corporate greed and their pointless wars on the poor she kept the light of protest burning.

Wilson John Haire 11th May, 2009

  • so many times i have heard this ghazal and still i feel that my thirst is not quenched. faiz has so beautifully expressed the views of the third world people and when iqbal bano lent her voice to this ghazal it is something that moves your heart and soul and after hearing this i cannot express my feelings as an member of third world. may her soul rest in peace

  • Great.....

  • just the voice and expression for faiz. what a great artist.

  • the lyrics and the voice both is powerful enough to move a person who has a heart that beats. i will certainly not like to praise them as it would amount to glorify myself. faiz and the just-left iqbal bano belongs to everyone irrespective of cast, creed or religion. faiz's lyrics brings tears to my eyes.

i have found the discussion much lively..some stupid too but they r bound to be there as level of intellect differs.

hats off to faiz and iqbal bano -born in delhi-lived in pak.

  • hey tauseef i agree with u

  • R.I.P.

  • God Bless him

  • but when...no more..please do some thing for pakistan....love,peace and frdship

  • beautiful lyrics and truth about qayamat

  • thanks

  • What a great lyrics & performance. We heartily condole her death. We will surely miss you Iqbal bano.

  • mashallah mya ALLAH BLESS YOU

    I LOVE U N MISS U

U WILL ALWAZ BE IN MY HEART

  • RIP Bano aapa

  • dear hanu, you really got it very very wrong. this is one of the most beautiful poems and made even more effective by the powerful singing of iqbal bano. he bhagwan, i am appalled. but this use of the word bhagwan does not make me either a hindu or a religious person just as o my god does not make me a christian. really! take it easy on criticising 'allah' haven't you heard all those film songs using such words??

  • got introduced to faiz by my father. began to make sense of faiz only after the ripe age of 20. then one day heard iqbal bano sing hum dekhenge. makes you believe in allah: only he could have given us this angelic combination of faiz's poetry and iqbal bano's voice.

  • Amin

  • The end of a great era. May her soul rest in peace. Amin

  • Also, Faiz was undoubtedly one of the most accomplished poets of his times. Metaphors are an integral part of Urdu poetry. Faiz has merely used arz-e-khuda, kaaba , mardood-e-haram, allah and khalq-e-khuda as metaphors for acceptable and unacceptable orders.

  • Khiraaj-e-aqeedat to a great singer. Iqbal Bano (1935-2009)
