I must say that you are a very strong person to go cold turkey on meats, and dairy or whatnot, not sure what it includes to be a vegan. But, I have nothing but respect and admiration for you...I don't think i'm that strong to give up meat.
Hey Autumn....when you did this, what were you using for your twists..or what did you have on your hair prior to twisting? They look so shiny and bouncy
It is more expensive, but my family and i eat all organic and it has so many health benefits! You can eat anything you normally eat organically. I am not into eating alot of meats, but i eat mainly fish, chicken and turkey. You seem cool and you have great hair!
I went natural and vegetarian 2.5 years ago..but i it's hard for me to to go vegan. I like enchiladas and pizza way too much. 80% everything i eat is organic- no hormones.
I think it's cool to live the natural lifestyle. I'm like that too to an extent... I've though about becoming a vegan but, I just cannot see myself not eating meat that's why we have cuspids and bicuspids. I only eat 2 servings a day and the rest is veggies, fruit, or grain. But as far as cosmetics, household products and toiletries go we are eye to eye.
I was just telling someone that eating healthy and going natural (hair) seem to go hand in hand. I also like your videos; you are always full of energy.
thank you! im a bit hyper lol and I agree, something tends to click when you start paying attention to your hair, you think about your body in other ways regarding what's better and more healthier :)
lol coincidence that i've just recently turned back to meat eating after 3 years of being vegetarian (i turned back for various health and lifestyle reasons) so well done for being a committed vegan!
You're right about alot of the non-organic meat products. The producers of such meats are very wicked to their animals... I am not vegan but I am an organic vegitarian that eats fish and eggs on occasion- as well as dairy. And I am very greatful for your post and for just telling your story.
I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that you've NEVER chemically processed your hair and that all thru highschool you STRAIGHTENED it with heat? Until a classmate dared you to NOT use heat? So I'm assuming that's like 7 years ago???
I was just curious...
I like to know people's starting points in being completely chemical free. That was a big step for me, at least! :-)
BTW: Great vid, as usual! I get excited when I see another hair vid!!!
You're correct, I didn't have a relaxer throughout high school or in college. I just got a press n curl. My last relaxer was probably 1997. That's probably why I was straightening it so often throughout the day, my new growth was probably super puffy lol. :)
Im vegan also, we almost have the same story! I went vegetarian my 11th grade year of high school and then went vegan 3yrs later. I am now transitioning to raw foodist which is not as hard as I thought. I am also going natural, getting relaxers every few months was completely contradicting my whole natural healthy lifestyle! Great video!
You are so cute. While you're twisting i'm looking at how long they are and thinking WOW can't wait for my hair to be that long.
I understand your reasons for going vegan and that's great but for me I just think that meat has way too many nutrients that my body needs for me to give it up. But I will look for those cruelty free products.
i agree kissy25, Meat has so many Nutrients ESPECIALLY that benefits the Hair and skin....i am BIG on Organic Foods though i eat about 80-90% organic, and have been trying to cut out ALL sugar, and switch to stevia, i also try to watch how much sodium is in things, and limit processed foods(its a work in progress),....But i must admit, i hardly EVER exercise (except for my walks to the store.).........Good Video CurlyChronicles
The only thing that people fuss about with meat is the iron and protein, but when you aren't educated it's easy to be mislead. Do a search on vegetables sources of protein and iron and you'll be surprised. The info is there, you just have to make the choice to seek it. =)

Hello. I love your videos, thanks. How often do you create the twists at night; in order to take them out in the morning? Your hair is beautiful!
