This is just unbelievable, Doug....you can flat out pen a song.....you remind me a lot of Pete Seeger, one of my favorite songwriters. Excellent performance too....five stars.

Beautifully done, Doug. You have conveyed exactly what is foremost in a sodier's mind during any difficult deployment, whether there is shooting or not. I count myself lucky not to have been in the thick of it, but I now help train a few soldiers for deployement.. A few haven't come back.

I think that most of us training them are as much concerned with bringing them back safely as with training them to complete the mission.

We know what matters most to the sodkiers and their families.

Bravo Doug. I especially like the aspect of the video not taking center stage, allowing the words room to reach out. The song has the ability to reach out to both sides, if they are willing to listen. And as always, a soldiers lament:
