hey i bought a 1/18 brshless motor for my vandetta st but need the right 2mm pinion gear for it bcuz it wont grasp to good on the stock 48 spur gear does anyone know the size i need .(note that the rc18t mini pinion .5 mod teeth to small for the spur . thanx
@aznskrachmaztah Somewhat... mine took it for a little while, then the plastic drive shafts broke. If you're very careful, stay on pavement and stick to 2s batteries you may be able to get away with it for some time. She's fast even in stock form though!
Yes, nearly the same size and cost, more amps and more flexible if you want to use it on a larger car in the future. In this case, the motor was a little bigger than the stadard 1/18 motor so no brainer to go with 1/10.
I looking to do the exact same thing to my own vendetta (the original). That motor shaft is hardened metal. How did you manage to make the shaft smaller? I was also thinking..... if the pinion was heated and press fitted to the shaft. Might that work? It seems like the pinion is only slightly smaller that the shaft of the motor. I'm going to use the 28-35-5100Kv ammo.... maybe ill get a bit extra kick :D.
I have both as you can see from the video. The MLST2 is better on the taller grass as it has more clearence, however the diff between front and read diffs is best locked with epoxy as it makes it loose a lot of grip on take off. My MLST2 has a Mamba in it, it's a better all-round basher and requires little upgrades to deal with the brushless engine, but the heavily upgraded Vendetta is a far better racer!
Do you plan on getting some footage of it on your track. I'm going to get an Ammo when I get my new Vendetta ST. I like the wheelies that made it do a little air.
Looks like a great balance of power!

will that 1/10 sidewinder fit into the vendetta buggy.
joe7258 2 years ago
@joe7258 Had to turn the receiver around to make room... good fit.
tuvix72 2 years ago
do you think it would be better to use the 1/10 rather than the 1/18 sidewinder?

IF i buy the battery you have, how do i change it into a deans connection? do i cut the plug-wires off and attach a deans?
boredm0nkey 3 years ago
that doesnt look like the ammo motor lol, looks like the Duratrax heat sinker motor.
boredm0nkey 3 years ago
It's an ammo with a DTX heat sink on it...

is this type of battery compatable with the vendetta?
LiPo 11.1V 2100mAh
the end of the wire looks like it can go into the vendetta battery slot
boredm0nkey 3 years ago
oh yeah is it ok to cut the end of your antenna wire that you dont need?
boredm0nkey 3 years ago
No, it will reduce range.

awesome man, i just got a vendetta ST and i have a question,
"Does it ever malfunction? Like you trigger reverse and you leave the controller alone, but it still reverses.?"
It does that to me all the time.
boredm0nkey 3 years ago
Sounds like you need to adjust the throttle trim on the remote...

Finally someone's used a bit of common sense in selecting a motor for their 18th! I'm deciding whether to get this or an MLST2 for xmas.

awesome video! what tires are you using? That battery seems awesome too.
nlsolja26 3 years ago
HPI Rally Tires. See the link in description for more details. Battery is very capable!
tuvix72 3 years ago
Get some Losi Street Meat tires, I think you can find them mounted on 18th scale wheels too, for their Mini series cars.

I will at some point. It flips easily on the grass track, need to try tires with less grip...
