I'm a christian from the Salvation Army of Danville Il. and I have to say that this and other renditions of old hymns, have made me a fan of them. God Bless and thank you.
Dear friend, in spite of your unsolicited insults, the Lord loves you, and if you will repent of your sins - acknowledge that you are a breaker of God's commandments and humbly turn to Him - and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ - believe that He is the Son of God, that He died for your sins and rose from the dead - He will save you from your sins. He will give you a new life of serving Him and grant you everlasting life. Thanks for listening to the song.
@Caliryda2 You may have reason refering to religions! But my personal experiencies with God and with Christ you can not delete. I´m not friend of religions, because powerful men use them against the poor. But Jesus Christ was diferent and is diferent. He was powerful, but served the poors. That is his filosofy. I have my personal relationship with God and with Jesus and I like to serve the poor and to help the powerful to discover what life should be: Love your neighbour as yourselve!
That line is a reference to a text in the OT where Moses asked to see God's face. God said no because he would be destroyed by his glory. So God told him to go in the cleft of the rock (opening of a cave) and when he passes by the opening he would cover the opening with his hand and pass by, allowing Moses to see his hindparts (or his back). That is where the inspiration for the song comes from.
Thanks for the nice comment! We love the old hymns too. Re: the recording... Well, it's done with a tiny digital camera with a mic the size of a pinhead. And no matter how softly I try to play at the piano it booms. So yes, we should go for a better recording place. But it's just so convenient to do it at church! That's where we play after all... Anyway, take care!
Verse is a good reminder for my life right now. Thank you

I am glad to hear old hymns again. One thing they need to get into a recording enviroment so it doesn't echo.
Another thing is the song sounds like it is 'rushed'.
Maybe I have been away from small church country gospel too long.
There needs some mixing so the music and vocal would be balanced.
In mixing the music should be noticed and not heard.
All and All I grew up on the old songs 60 years ago.
cheers :-)
