how many plants should i have in the tank so i dont sufficate the fish i have 1 currently in the tank but ill be planning to by more tomorow need to know thanks
I'm new with the CO2 DIY systems & I would like to make one like yours. Could you please send me an e-mail with the parts & Equipment I need to have for assambling it? I would like to know specially about the green tube that makes the system work (Size and where to find it). I will try to get the same equipment you have.

One more thing, how do you make your CO2? I have seen many tutorials but all of them are different.
I tried the same thing once but I used alcohol in the bubble container to keep the yeast from reaching the plants. Have you had any probl;ems with yeast killing bacteria or anything else in your tank?
HI , im new in planted aquarium, and i just start to DIY yeast co2, but i hv no idea about how to make it produce co2 as much as yours? mine can only produce i bubble per 1 min. why ~T.T give me some tips ~ please
Hi, yes, it definitely has improved the plant growth. The only thing I can say about the CO2 mixer is that when you have too much CO2 from the bottle, you will see excees bubbles coming out into the aquarium. I found that if keep the bubble rate at 1 bubble/second, the mixer works well.
oright well im new to it. and making my own homemade . i just ordered a diffuser, tubbing, check valve, . but no bubble counter, can you actually controller it?. if not i prob wont get one since i already have a co2 indicator
If you are making your own CO2, there is really not much you can do to control the bubble rate. You want to increase the CO2 concentration during day time, so try not to disturbe the water too much during day time.
IS THE HEXA EXTERNAL DIFFUSOR LOUD?

My best mix so far, which last about 3 to 4 weeks:
2 liter soda bottle filled with 60% boiled cold water (tap water kills some of the yeast)
2 cups of sugar
1 pack of wine yeast (Red Star Premier Cuvee, or Lalvin EC-1118
(normal yeast is Ok, but last less than 2 weeks)
The solution should start producing bubble within 2 hours. Quicker if you use lukewarm water.

How often do you change the mix? A good idea is having two bottles of yeasty mix and changeing them time about to get a more even release of Co2

Very Nice set-up. Do you have a specific formula for the sugar/yeast ratio? And does the CO2 negatively impact the fish in your tank in any way?

I used to have a planted tank and CO2 does help. few days after my CO2 reactor was removed, my plants were dramatically affected...

But, does it really work? i mean, have you noticed that your plants have improved their growth? and the O2 production?
