Amtrak's Keystone Corridor Series December 21, 2009

Here we appreciate former METROLINER electric units, now adapted as cab cars. After being retired from NEC, they ran HARRISBURG-PHILADELPHIA trains and also PACIFIC CORRIDOR, former SAN DIEGAN now SURFLINERS. METROLINER trains were originally individual electric cars, they could be coupled together up to 6 car consists, operated by the same engineer. It is greatful these units are still operating for AMTRAK KEYSTONE SERVICE, the same HARRISBURG ROUTE up to NEW YORY CITY.

Very wonderful trains. In my late childhood in Summer 1978 I first visited USA and rode Amtrak NEC New York-Washington with my family. We tried to ride the former METROLINER electric units, now adapted as cab cars, for KEYSTONE SERVICE, but could not did so, because METROLINER was FIRST CLASS ONLY EXPRESS SERVICE, heavy luggage was not allowed on board. I still wish to ride THE KEYSTONE CABCAR, Philadelphia-Harrisburg the nearest point to Altoona famous HORSESHOE CURVE.

Great, at the first scene of the video, the SEPTA Trainset Move was being shuttled directly to Thorndale to be set up ready for the Great Valley Flyer run.
