ok, I need help. I am new to 420 racing but I have been sailing my whole life. (I have my own wooden optimist that I have been sailing sice I was five) My racing coach refuses to teach me how to sail downwind with the spinnacker up! He hates 420s and only pays attention to the lazer racers... Can anyone give me any tips or instructions on what I should do to get started? Please? I am desperate!!!
sad as it is 420's are dying out as people turn to 29ers, both are awsome boats. the 420 is not quite as big a handfull for younger people and are very easy work for the helm!
pffft, thats like 10-12kts its barely white capping, and guys thats a club 420 not a normal 420 they dont come standard with a spinnaker, i sail 29er move into a real class!
29er a real class?? u gota be fukin jokin.. 29er is so fukin boring as a helm.. an u cant even sail when it goes above 25 knots cos 29ers just snap an also its a boat for retards who cant do tactics

420 is boat for children... but i will sailed on it last 4 years and I think that 420 is good boat.... Now I will sail on 470...:-)
